daycycle 112
[Oct 16 - Oct 22]
[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
No Special Troubleshooters have been selected for a mission this morning.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.
Free Enterprise is pushing a new, adjusted street form of No Fear (Dynomorphin). The original pharmaceutical is meant for those in Ultraviolet ranks, but this form is much dirtier, cheaper and more addictive. In order to get people hooked, they've put a healthy dose in the wagon wheel's ORANGE and RED level coffee-like supplies. The drug causes a very bullet proof feeling of euphoria. Side effects include paranoia, hallucinations, increased sociability, increased sex drive, panic attacks, excited delirium - extreme agitation and violence, and the temporary loss of feeling in nerve endings (inability to feel pain). A standard dose lasts four hours. Withdrawal symptoms include nosebleeds, sweating, nausea, dehydration and blinding migraines. For those that want more of the drug, Free Enterprise will make it easily accessible.
At 1200, a squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Medical Services to escort Caitlin Snow away for suspected treason. Anyone asking for additional information will be told it's classified and warned not to continue asking questions. Approximately fifteen minutes later another squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Internal Security to lead Vision away. Anyone asking for additional information will be given the same party line.
At 1400 today, Jack Harkness will be summoned by Mind Control to the Production offices on the twenty fifth floor. There he will be offered a position in Media Production where he will assist with the Teela O'Malley show. This position will come with a clearance level promotion of ORANGE, since the talk show star doesn't associate with anyone of lower clearance level. Jack will be responsible for ramping up the excitement levels of the live audience and the personal entertainment of the star.
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in Meeting Room G, Wagon Wheel Floor 24 and will be hosted by the Alpha Smiling Club. Join us tonight for refreshments and tips on faking it until you make it!
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Maybe it's the fact that she's touching that is bringing all of the new revelations? It doesn't matter. Izzy's charming smile is firmly in place and not going anywhere any time soon; she doesn't know that she can pinpoint the source of her mood, or anything else, but then again...why look a gift horse in the mouth too?
A playful giggle escapes passed her lips, but all the same, the petite shadowhunter nods. "Yes, I do, good memory." She then proceeds to wink at Steve before giving a subtle gesture of her chin towards a door off to the left. "This way, it's part of the way to my lab and the morgue, but, it should do the trick." Izzy shares easily enough; that's the reason that she's found the blindspot, honestly, because it's a route she's taken. One that she's considered the usefulness of several times, actually. "It's not a high-traffic area." Then again, Izzy's area isn't all the time.
The petite young woman moves confidently toward their destination, the thoughts of what the private, low-traffic, area she'd found deciding to hit her brain. Sure, that's probably not what Steve intends, but...well, he's not exactly discouraging the thoughts either. "And you can have more than a minute if you want it."

Everything feels so familiar — walking with Izzy through an impossibly sterile environment, looking for a secret place to talk — but there’s also something fun and exciting about how suddenly, she was the one showing him around. And maybe it was just his mood, or the oddest things that’s been happening to him today, but when Izzy giggles and winks, a playful part of Steve that he hasn’t felt for a long time comes to the surface, and he can’t help but give her a mischievously suspicious look. As if to ask, what do you think we’ll be doing, Izzy?
But when she moves confidently in one direction, he makes sure to keep up. They were connected at the arm now, after all, and while Steve would have normally untangled himself minutes ago, right now? It just feels … nice.

During that trip Izzy didn't hold onto Steve's arm for the whole trip, though. She didn't know him very well at that time; of course, she doesn't know him a great deal better now, but she does know him better than before. She trusts him, even likes him. So, she can't help the coy, silent response to his look, a bit of a challenge back at him. A flirty one, as if she's telling him: why don't you wait and find out, hm?
Truth is, that's exactly the message that she's conveying as she moves swiftly (for such a petite thing, anyway), guiding Steve to the designated spot in a dead-end hallway that holds lab supplies. "Ta-da!" Izzy announces as they round a corner, the flirt from before popping into her head. It's a great spot...to talk, to meet. Maybe that's what hits her full-fledged, or maybe it's something else? Despite the fact that she has to lift her chin to look up, and that he's taller, Izzy reaches up with the hand not holding his arm and grasps the back of Steve's neck to pull him down as she lifts onto her tip-toes, and once he's in range she plants her lips against his in a kiss. She can't exactly call it impromptu because she'd definitely thought about it already, but, she hadn't quite planned it like this. Or necessarily planned it, at all.
He was flirting back, after all, he was practically encouraging it.

But it’s certainly enough to get him to kiss her back.
And he does, kiss her back, like this was the most natural progression possible — like in this moment, when he feels Izzy pull him down, there’s nothing else he’d rather be doing, and suddenly they’re getting to know each other a hell of a lot better than a minute ago.
He lets go of her arm, dipping his body a little as he turns the thirty degrees that will finally put them face-to-face. What was it that he wanted to tell her? Steve can’t seem to remember, because suddenly, this feels so much more important.
It isn’t until the kiss naturally breaks — and somehow, Steve’s hand had found its way to her chin — that he opens his eyes and takes a breath, blinking in awe as he tries to remember his thoughts.
“Izzy…” he half-whispers, before clearing his throat. “Has anyone ever told you…” There’s a lot of ways he can end that sentence, and all of them are competing for the tip of his tongue. Steve shakes his head. God it’s difficult to think straight right now.
no subject
Steve is, even if Izzy has absolutely no sights toward trying to pull him into anything. In fact, she's not even sure what brought this on. She's also not going to second-guess now, though. After all, they've already kissed. Can't take back something that's already happened!
"Told me what?" She tilts her head to the side, curious about what he has to say, and yet her mind still on the kiss...hence the wide smile in place. Yeah, it's been a while for her. And Steve is incredibly handsome, and nice. What's not there to want to kiss? And if him not finishing his comment is any indication...it's not as if it hasn't had an effect on him as well. "Because that wasn't what I expected you wanted to talk about before..." She poses the reminder, despite not having moved away from him just yet, balanced easily on her tip-toes....years of practice with heels making the act almost natural.
"But I'd love to know what you're curious about either way." In for a penny, in for a pound, and so Izzy pecks Steve once more teasingly before settling back onto her feet...and letting go of his neck. After all, being bent over, and pulled down at that height probably isn't extremely comfortable. "Does it have to do with my kissing skills?"
no subject
“I uh… was wondering, Izzy-“ And then the peck comes, and Steve didn’t even know he could reflexively kiss someone back that fast. But this time at least, all sense hasn’t been knocked out of him. After a few blinks and a smile that spreads to his cheeks, he continues: “Has anyone showed you the Specials headquarters?”
Because literally every other question she asked was basically about kissing, and Steve … Steve really doesn’t know how to answer those questions.
no subject
She wasn't expecting the question Steven finally manages to form--not even minding that her own comments--because her curiosity is piqued now, maybe even enough to forget about everything else. Just for now. "No, I can't say that anybody has." Izzy's hands move to settle on her hips, her head tilting, but her gaze not leaving the Captain.
"Do you want to show me Specials headquarters?" Izzy asks, her voice taking on it's normal charming cadences, a smile pulling at her lips.
no subject
Normal people want to talk about it right? Being kissed and kissing your friends. That deserves a conversation and Steve shouldn’t just keep going like nothing out of the ordinary just happened. But then, Izzy seems to be doing just that, and well, Steve doesn’t even know what kind of talk he wants to have about it … so he just … keeps on keeping on.
“What um-“ Steve blinks again, and re-focuses. “Are you free tonight?” Because no, it definitely doesn’t sound like he’s asking her on a date right now. But somehow, Steve actually realizes how it sounds this time, and quickly adds, “So I can show you where it is. A lot of the Specials use it as a place to go off the grid for an hour or two. No cameras.”
Yes Steve. Tell Izzy about how private it is. That’s clearly much better.
no subject
The thing is, though, that even though she does like Steve, she hasn't been fawning or crushing from afar. He's a good friend, she enjoys his company, and she even trusts him. The kiss, though, was nice even if it came from nowhere. She doesn't have a pressing need to bring it up. There's a part of her that can see his trepidation, though.
Maybe that's why she smiles, warmly at him, and gives the man a squeeze on the arm.
"I am free tonight, especially to be shown HQ." Izzy winks, playfully, not quite sure why she's flirting again, especially after trying to reassure him a moment before. The two actions do conflict a little, but she can't manage to be too bothered by the contrast. Instead, she's more interested in seeing the place that other specials meet up. "Sounds like a good place to get a little bit of privacy around here." Izzy notes, looking in the direction that they came from, knowing she can't keep Steve from his job, the one that he let her trail along and walk with him for, for too long.
"When will you finish up?" Izzy gives a gesture toward him, and the hospital around, meaning his tour through technical services, basically.
no subject
Steve’s always been terrible at picking up signals when it comes to things like this, and conflicting ones are even worse. So he tries not to think too much of any of it, even if he manages to blurt out “Good, then it’s a date,” before he realizes what he’s just said and his eyes widen before he scrunches his eyebrows. “I mean … you know … not like-“ Before he smiles and shakes his head and resigns himself to a blustering “… you know what I mean.”
And yes, please, ask him a question he can give you a straight answer to.
“How about 16:00?” Because yeah, even without the Complex, he’d talk in military time. Plus, 4 p.m. is when they officially get out of work.
no subject
She doesn't enjoy torturing people. It's just that sometimes she can't help herself. Really. And Steve, when he's flustered, is just funny. Izzy really is a great friend, you know?
"I can do four, no problem." Izzy grins, patting his bicep before gesturing for them to leave the lovely little nook that Izzy shared with him. A part of her wouldn't mind staying there longer, but she's still go enough of her wits about her not to derail Steve too much. "Where do you want to meet up? Since, I probably shouldn't keep you from your tour much longer." The petite shadowhunter gives a faux pout at that, knowing that she's about to lose him to his duties. And they were having so much fun!
no subject
But the little pat she puts on his arm is all the reminder he needs to nod and start walking back down the corridor.
“Lobby of the Wagon Wheel. Do you still remember that spot in the center of the room?” Where he’d brought her on her first night here. “I’ll come find you there.”
Because yes, he really should get going, even if the importance of his official mission for the day feels somewhat muted now.
no subject
The shadowhunter grins at her current companion, walking alongside him. "I do remember, I take the people I welcome to the spot every time." Izzy speaks brightly. Steve, as a person, and as a tour guide in general has definitely stuck with her. "I'll be there waiting eagerly." Izzy promises, tugging his arm to get him to stop for a moment so she can lift up onto her tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek.
"I won't be bad and keep you even longer." The young woman shoots a wink, that grin settled firmly on her face. "I'll see you later." Izzy finally breaks away from Steve, even though a part of her would rather 'be bad' and the temptation is gnawing at the back of her head. She really just barely holds back as she splits off from him, giving a teasing little wave as she backs away.
"Good luck on the rest of your tour."
