Daycycle 108 [ September 18 - September 24 ]

daycycle 108

[Sept 18 - Sept 24]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Death Leopard is back! After nearly having nearly all of it's members hunted down and exterminated after the parade fiasco a few months ago, new leadership has arisen within the secret society and has been secretly recruiting new members hellbent on destruction for destruction's sake. A large number of Death Leopard members work within the Armed Services divison and at approximately 1400 today, a large shipment of weapons will be stolen.

At 1500 Death Leopard members stationed throughout Alpha will cause utter chaos by careening through Alpha in stolen motor cars, blaring loud music and shooting up the place. For the most part, they are not aiming for people, but their goal is to accomplish as much property damage as possible and announce their return. They do not, however, have any qualms at shooting officials clearance level YELLOW or higher. They have several grenades that they will use throughout their reign of terror, tossing them at random store fronts and service firms.

All Troubleshooters will be called on to stop them by any means necessary.

It will later be discovered that during this show of blatant disregard for Alpha Citizen Life, two more shipments of weapons were stolen.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1700 in Meeting Room F, Wagon Wheel Floor 27 and will be hosted by the Volunteer Form Checkers. Help Alpha Complex by volunteering your time to check forms this evening as the scanners in the Housing, Planning & Development sector is down.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

It's funny how life makes you a coffee addict, isn't it? Folgers really should use that in their ads.

Buffy doesn't believe the glitches are glitches. She thinks they're memories and she's getting the idea that Allison does as well, which is a good start as far as she's concerned.

"Oh. Special Forces. it's part of the military. Where have you been assigned?"

Seriously, all you need is a night of fighting monsters for life to turn you into a caffeine addict.

Allison doesn't believe the glitches are glitches, either. They're too real and vivid for her to believe they aren't her own experiences, but ultimately it's not like it really matters in her case. Those memories would be the last ones she'd have of her life back home, considering what happened in that last fight; these things now may be glitches or the afterlife she's stuck with, but it's all she has.

It's almost why she's not even fighting this insanity. It's why she doesn't mind making new friends, because back home she's just...gone.

"Oh that's awesome." She means it, too. There's no way she wouldn't admire a woman kicking ass. "I'm in Weapon and Armor Maintenance. I start tomorrow."
whattingawhat: (You surprise me [smile])

Word that? No. No. Those are words that Buffy should never say, but yes. She agrees.

There are a lot of people here that believe that. She's in good company.

That's understandable too. Maybe she can make a life here. It's not the worst place. It's just not the best either.

"Then I'll see a lot of you. Did you do that sort of thing before?" Before this, she wonders.

'Word that' isn't too bad. Although Allison probably shouldn't say that, either.

Honestly, other than the fact that her every move will apparently be observed, this doesn't seem too bad. At least she's still breathing, right? Having the life snuffed out of you for good at eighteen is a little tragic, although not really surprising to Allison, but at least she has a second chance. Not that it makes her loyal to the Computer at all, but it's still a second chance.

"I did, yeah. Well, kind of. Dealing with weapons was kind of a family business - you know, in the glitches," she adds, with a shadow of a smirk on her lips just in case someone nearby is hearing their conversation. "I'm actually looking forward to seeing the weapons they have around here."
whattingawhat: (Scythe matters)

Buffy could make a list of complains, but Allison will experience everything here soon enough. She'll let her make her own mind up about this place. The fact that it's Allison's second chance, that she doesn't have a life to return to, probably does help her cope with this place.

Buffy nods a little, clearly understanding what Allison means about the glitches. "Everything I've seen, is pretty standard, but maybe you'll find something interesting. Weapons wise. Let me know if you do? I used to have a scythe I was pretty fond of."

"Who knows, maybe they'll have weapons stored somewhere that aren't ready to be shared?" She's just guessing, but it's clear by the look on her face that she's looking forward to find out. Hey, if she's going to be in this place, she might as well have some fun, right? What better way to do it, than doing something she actually really enjoys.

"I will definitely let you know." She nods, taking a sip of her coffee. The conversation is even distracting her from how 'strong' the coffee is. "Scythe. Got it. Was that here, or...you know. Glitches?"

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-10-12 12:15 am (UTC)(link)

"In this place, it wouldn't surprise me." She seems to consider that a moment. "And that idea is either really scary or really awesome depending on who finds said weapon hoard." She has no desire to see it in the hands of some of the people who've been wrecking havoc without any regard to who's getting hurt. Buffy is all on board for having fun here where one can take it, especially if it benefits others the way Allison's job does.

That's a side benefit then. "Glitches," Buffy says with a glance down to her coffee then back up to Allison. "If you find it, you're not going to want anyone but me to have it. It's got some pretty heavy mojo on it that could be used to make things turn south in the wrong hands." She knows. She's seen it done back home. "Or so the glitches tell me."

"I'm sure they're at least smart enough to hide it well enough. You know, if it exists." And by saying 'I'm sure,' she means 'I sure as hell hope' because who knows what people around here can do. Like Buffy, Allison also has no desire to see what destruction people can cause with hidden weapons, and... Nope. No, thanks. If Allison does manage to find them, she's already planning on finding ways to put a safeguard around them so that (hopefully) no one would get hurt by them.

At Buffy's answer, she gives a small nod. To say that Allison is more than curious about this weapon that has some powerful mojo would be an understatement, and it's obvious by the look on her face that she's more than a little fascinated. "Got it. Don't worry, I will. As long as you let me borrow it at least to just test it out?"

It's said lightly, as if it's a joke, but really. She's more than serious, because just from the little that Buffy has said, it already sounds awesome.
whattingawhat: (Okay come clean)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-10-18 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Buffy is right there with her on the 'I sure as hell hope'. She nods a little at Allison's reassurance. Any safeguards that anyone can come up with will be welcome. If Buffy can help, all Allison has to do is say the word.

The Slayer scythe is interesting in so many ways. She doesn't mind telling Allison about them either. She smiles at Allison's comment and nods. "Sure. We'll grab a room in the armed forces sector and practice with it." Her brow furrows a little. "I don't know if you'll feel it the way that I do though." She doesn't know if Allison will be able to tell how it's special because part of what's so special about it is the magic it's made with, magic that's specific to a slayer.

She tilts her head a little. "Do you believe in magic?"

This whole conversation is probably treasonous. Maybe the computer won't be able to understand a good deal of it.

[personal profile] fateless 2016-10-18 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Perfect." The unknown if she'll feel it like Buffy does doesn't really bother her. Honestly, Allison would be happy just to see the Scythe in action. Especially when Buffy asks about magic, and she finds herself even more intrigued even if she's trying not to show how much. You know, in case someone were to notice two girls talking about something like this in the Commissary.

"I... Yeah, I guess it's safe to say that I do. I'm familiar with the out-of-the-ordinary things." That would be one way to put it, she thinks. She has never witnessed magic herself - unless you count the Darach - but she definitely has experience on the things you can't quite explain.

"Is the Scythe laced with magic?"
whattingawhat: (Consider)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-10-21 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
That Buffy can arrange if Allison locates the scythe. Buffy gets interested in conversation and forgets she needs to watch what she says. She's never been very good at that.

Buffy nods a little, a grateful, little smile on her lips. "Big magic. Old magic," Buffy answers, wondering if the Computer even understands the concept of magic. "Slayer magic, but that might not mean anything to you."

Different worlds and all.

[personal profile] fateless 2016-10-23 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"'Slayer magic'? Yeah, not really. But," she adds with a small shrug. "Like I said, I really don't know much about magic in general. Now, werewolves? That's where my specialty lies."

Slayer magic sounds pretty badass, though. To the point that she even leans a little forward in interest, resting her arms on the table. "Is Slayer magic a big thing where you are?"
whattingawhat: (Default)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-10-25 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)

That sounds like something Derek said to her about werewolves being a majority where he's from. "Do you know Derek Hale?" Maybe she should explain her non sequitur. "He mentioned something to me about there being a lot of werewolves where he's from. They're pretty rare in my world. I just wondered if you were both from the same place."

It actually is pretty bad ass even if Buffy rails against the way it was originally parsed out. "Yes and no. It's a big deal, but there's not much of it. It's the magic that makes a girl a slayer and the scythe is a source of it."

fateless: (pic#10654720)

[personal profile] fateless 2016-10-28 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It's almost like a switch; the moment that Derek's name is mentioned, Allison's expression shifts. It's not a glare, like it would have been a few months ago, but her smile falters enough to make it obvious that there is some sort of recognition from her at the mention of the werewolf. Allison doesn't hate him how she did, once upon a time, but he's still the one that gave her mother the bite that made her kill herself. He's still the one that, to her, took advantage of misguided teenagers for his own selfish reasons.

He's also the one that Scott trusted, and someone she was forced to work with, so... Again, she doesn't hate him, but she's also not his biggest fan.

"Yeah, I do. You guys are friends?"

With a nod as if to say she understands, Allison smiles. "Wow. I don't think we have anything like that where I'm from, but that sounds pretty cool."
whattingawhat: (How's that working for you?)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-11-04 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Buffy sees that shift in expression and she's curious about it. She knows so little about Derek's life back home. They tend to focus more on things here.

She nods a little at Allison's question. "He's my room mate. Things were a little rocky at first. I don't think he liked me much, but I've won him over."

"You've got magic though?" She's curious about what kind and what it does. If they could get any form of it here, they might be able to at least make life a little better if not get out of here.
fateless: (pic#10591863)

[personal profile] fateless 2016-11-27 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah," she says with a short nod, a small smile crossing her lips. She's not going to start badmouthing Derek because it isn't her place to throw off whatever image Buffy has of him, so she just gives a shrug. "If it helps, I don't think Derek really likes a lot of people, so if you won him over, that's definitely an accomplishment."

Her fingers drum against the table idly as she thinks about Buffy's question. "Of sorts, yeah. The only one I've come across has been dark magic, though. A druid was terrorizing the town, it was this...big thing. Thankfully she was stopped before she killed too many people."

Jennifer had killed a good amount - she had even almost killed her father - but thankfully they had managed to stop her. It hadn't been easy, and she had lost a part of her soul in the process, but she was stopped. That's what mattered.
