Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

At 1200 today, a list of high-ranking non-registered mutants will be released to the public. These officials will scramble to account for their tardiness in registering to the Computer and will shortly after be assigned Troubleshooters as body guards against retaliating Anti-Mutant members. All assigned troubleshooters are to keep their charges alive until shift change at 0700 on Day 103, using whatever means necessary. Permission temporarily granted to travel to restricted areas within the clearance level of their charge. Both bodyguards should be present at all times with few exceptions.

Barry Allen & Jillian Holtzmann - Otto Vaska, Stasis - can suspend time briefly, INDIGO, Central Processing
Steve Rogers & Parker - Xeno Fane, Charm - can make people like them, BLUE, Production, Logistics & Commissary
Blue Sargent & Morgana - Priskilla Linos, Polymorphism - can shapeshift, BLUE, Housing, Planning & Development
Cisco Ramon & Stiles Stilinski - Gabi Aline, Adrenaline Control - can control adrenaline levels in others, BLUE, Technical Services
Root & Tony Stark - Sol Sisel, Desolidity - can walk through walls, INDIGO, Research & Development

[ Player note: Characters may notice that any mutant abilities they once possessed may have a very weak showing when in close proximity to Alpha mutants. Mission success or failure is up to the players.]

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in the Commissary and will be hosted by the Alpha Chess Club. Come participate in the biggest (and only) Chess Tournament sanctioned by the Computer.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Alright, this is...

Well. 'Weird' didn't cover it. Some part of him is still trying to grasp at all this - this new reality that he has found himself in - but he had done a pretty good job of playing it off as if he was drinking the Kool-Aid so that he could be allowed to at least venture past the room where he was forced to watch the 'introductory' video.

As he walks into the Commissary, though, his poker face almost disappears. Because wow, he's really not waking up. Somehow he had been hoping this was some sort of weird dream, maybe even a hallucination because it wouldn't be surprising, considering how little he had been sleeping lately. But...here he is. In a god-awful jumpsuit, surrounded by others wearing the same god-awful jumpsuits, and nope. Definitely not waking up.

With a sigh under his breath, he walks over to at least get a coffee. This may not be home, and that might not be real coffee, but he needs to at least get himself somewhat caffeinated if he's expected to function.

The sludge that pretend to be coffee here is abysmal and sad and it makes Lydia want to try to develop espresso substitutes as her next project proceeding the makeup she's been developing. But all the same, once you get past the awful taste and questionable liquidity, it does have a little bite to it. Not much, but some. It'll do.

She's trying to mask the overall fail-in-a-cup with what passes for sweeteners and creamers when she looks up in time to see him approaching. Lydia's face drops, first with surprise and then with relief. Finally, it lights up with recognition and excitement. He helped her so much when she'd first gotten out of the hospital after the attack and she's been worried about him since his arrest. If he's okay, then that means Ray might be, too, and the system Matt's working within might not be a total waste of his time.

It doesn't occur to her that there's a possibility he might not remember her. After all, Ray literally blew himself to smithereens and he'd still remembered her a clone later. So she thinks nothing of practically tackling him with a quick hug before reminding herself he'd never really been the touchy-feely type to her knowledge. So the hug is short and then she's letting go and stepping back. "You're okay! I was so freaked out that maybe 'arrested' was Computer code for 'totally freaking dead' or something. Are you okay?! You're okay, right?" She's babbling now, a little, but she's just so excited to see Tony alive and well that she can't help it.

Tony's mind is essentially in tunnel vision mode when Lydia looks towards him, his eyes primarily focusing on coffee, so it's not until she's suddenly hugging him that he's jolted back to reality. What the hell? he almost asks, his facial expression definitely says it during the embrace, but she pulls back before he can even vocalize his thoughts.

Her words are another surprise altogether, though. Arrested? He's...

What?

"Uh, yeah. I'm-- Yeah, I'm okay. Are...you?" His eyes narrow very slightly, almost as if trying to remember if he's supposed to know her, but he's coming up blank. Which is even more confusing, considering how she seems to know him, and despite how hard he tries to keep his expression neutral, he can't help the way his brow furrows slightly.

"I'm sorry, who are you?"

For a brief, terrifying moment, Lydia wonders if this isn't Tony at all and it's like when she thought Ronan was Jackson. Her stomach turns over uncomfortably and she looks back at him with her jaw slackened slightly and her eyes wide for a moment before she finally speaks.

"...Lydia..." she says slowly, pressing her lips together in thought before speaking again after a brief pause. "...are you not Tony Stark...? Because that's a thing here, that happens, one person looking like another, sometimes. And if that's the case, I'm really, really sorry and this was just a big misunderstanding."

At least he's a RED rather than a higher clearance level. That would be ten times more humiliating.

Shit. The look on her face makes him a little alarmed, and he's ready to let her know that it's okay if she confused him with someone else (really, he's horrible at dealing with girls that are upset with him, it's awful), but then she says his full name and Tony blinks. In confusion, in...something that he isn't even sure what it is.

"...no, I am Tony Stark. I just don't think I have met you."

There's a faint change in his tone as he finishes speaking, almost as if he's asking more than letting her know that they haven't met just yet. The way she's looking at him, though, is answer enough, and Tony's quest for coffee is completely forgotten.

"So, Lydia. You've...met me. When, exactly?"

Is this some sort of glitch, like he had been told upon waking up? Was that really a thing? Tony hadn't believed it, but now he's starting to wonder if he should reconsider his stance on the whole thing.

Lydia's face sort of falls again, both for Tony and for Ray, when he's hopefully eventually released. Before she can stop herself, she's looking concerned and sympathetic all at once and murmuring more to herself than to him, "oh, sweetie, what did they do to you…?"

How could he not remember? This place and the things that happened here the first month or so she'd been around were pretty hard to miss or forget and Tony had been there for most of them, too.

She seems to snap out of a train of thought, then, looking back at him rather than...sort of through him.

"A couple of months ago. You were teaching me to fight after the hate group attack. You gave me this thing, um, like I pressed a button on it and there was this, like, not-quite-an-explosion-but-also-totally-a-minor-explosion that went off. So that if the ASS came back for round two, I could buy myself some time in a pinch. ...and then you were arrested before you could finish making me a replacement after I panicked and used mine on some random group of INFRAREDs that I thought were following me…"

When she doesn't see any recollection on his expression right away, Lydia deflates a little. "Never mind. Anyway, Steve is here, still. He can probably fill you in more than I can. We weren't that close," she says, and it's a lie, because Tony took her under wing the way Melissa McCall always seemed to have done with Stiles. She'd realized not too far into their lessons that he wasn't just teaching her to fight. He actually seemed to care whether she learned it well enough to prevent another attack. Not that Barry didn't when he was teaching her, it had just been a bit of a surprise coming from Tony. He seemed a lot more...aloof than Barry, was all. Tony probably never would've admitted it, but yeah. They were close.

If Tony's head hadn't already been spinning, it definitely would be at Lydia's words. He takes in what she says, though, trying to absorb every detail as if somehow that will help. Except it doesn't, and Tony doesn't even know what to say.

He takes in the way that she deflates, though, and her body language. She's good at lying, he would even probably believe her, but here's the thing: Tony Stark doesn't just give his tech to anyone. At least, in normal circumstances, he doesn't. In some way it's his way of looking out for those he cares about, and that's Tony's sign that her 'we weren't that close' is not quite accurate.

Except, he doesn't call it out even his expression shifts into one that is a little more understanding. He nods slightly with a faint hum, and reaches for a mug.

"Well, you know... Just because I don't remember you, it doesn't mean that you can't fill me in. Or that I can't get to know you again." It's said casually, as if this isn't a big deal, but he glances over at her after a small moment as if testing the waters. "If you want, I mean."

Lydia's eyes narrow a little when she notices the sudden change in his body language. One moment ago, he was alert, confused, and she could all but see the cogs turning in that brilliant head of his as he tried to piece together what he remembered and how what she was saying would fit into it. Now, he's a little more aloof, almost relaxed.

He's got her figured out, hasn't he...?

With a soft sigh, Lydia tosses the coffee stirrers that have basically melted in her coffee into the trash and takes a few more so that she can go back to stirring properly. "Honestly, Steve could probably tell you more. I only met you after the A.S.S. beat the shit out of me and left me in a storage closet to bleed to death while they posted the video of the attack for the rest of the Specials to see. I put up a post on the network asking who wanted to teach me to defend myself. You and Barry offered. I worked with both of you until you got arrested and now I work with him and Matt."

She shrugs and tries to match the semi-aloof attitude, tossing the new coffee stirrers and lifting her own cup to take a sip. "You don't have to feel obligated just because I remember you, Tony. If it comes back, it comes back and if it doesn't then...I guess it's up to you," she says. The last thing she wants is a pity party. ...she just wants him to remember. "You should talk to Steve first, though, either way. And then get back to me if you actually do want to get to know me again. Not that I shared a whole lot the first time, but...I appreciate the sentiment." She gives him a small smile to indicate that she does, in fact, mean that.
im_ironman: (pic#10371166)

[personal profile] im_ironman 2016-08-16 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, here's the thing," he shrugs, his attention back to his coffee. "Generally I'm not big on letting others work with me. But if I was okay with you working with me before, then that kind of tells me I can at least trust you." He shrugs again, as if this is clearly the most logical thing in the world, with an expression of 'that's just how things work, don't question it.'

"Besides," he continues with a small sigh under his breath. "Just because I can have Steve fill me in, it doesn't mean I can't ask you too, right?"

Because Tony doesn't believe in pity parties, and this definitely isn't one of them. He hates the idea of them in general, so that's not what this is about. As much as Tony could say and believe that he worked better alone, he knows that he needs allies, and if Lydia had even hugged him in greeting... Well. He could trust her. Right?

Now he just needs to talk to Steve. Which... Heh. First instinct says no, that Steve won't want to see him, that he himself won't have a good reaction to seeing him because the last thing he remembers pertaining to Steve is Siberia, and the aftertaste that remains in his mouth at the thought has nothing to do with the sludge that is pretending to be coffee in his mug. His fingers idly drum against the side of the cup, a small sign of the way his thoughts are running a thousand miles a minute, but he tries to quiet them for now.

"How are you doing? With the whole...learning who to defend yourself thing?"

"In our defense, generally you're probably not forced to watch teenage girls being nearly beaten to death on television right before being asked the following day by said teenage girl 'who's going to teach me to fight?'" Lydia points out gently. "But yeah, I'm trustworthy. Which, I'm sure is something that someone who wasn't would also say, but I get the feeling you can pick out sincerity from bullshit pretty easily."

Lydia gave a non-committing shrug at that. "Well, Steve has been here longer and seen more than I have, so you can ask me, but he could probably answer your questions better than I could," she admits, as much as she hates to defer to others. She likes to be the one who knows everything. In this place, she nearly never is. It's frustrating. More frustrating than she likes to let on.

Again, at his question, Lydia gives a shrug. "All right. I'm still learning. It's hard to find the time when both myself and one of them are free," she says. Although, it's less difficult to find free time with Matt, but she prefers to spend the time with him doing other things... "I'm getting there." She opens her mouth to add that she's got Gucci to help her out in the mean time and closes it again because maybe that's offering up too much right now. She knew she could trust him before, but that doesn't necessarily mean she can trust him now.

"Yeah," he mumbles thoughtfully, "I guess there's that little detail."

It's not such a little detail, really. Just the idea of something like that happening feels like it makes his skin itch, and he can't imagine what it must have been like to watch her be nearly beaten to death on television just to prove a point. He hides any annoyance over it with a small smile, especially when she mentions that he can detect bullshit pretty easily and, well. She's certainly not wrong.

His smile falls a little, though, at the mention and reminder that he'd have to talk to Steve for actual answers of this place. That's certainly something he does not want to do, but he really doesn't feel like sharing that with Lydia. He sure as hell doesn't want to mention the why behind it, either, so he just gives a small nod and drowns his own words with more coffee.

"Good," he just says instead, trying not to grimace at the taste of the coffee that lingers in his mouth. "If there's anything I can do...I'm serious. You can still ask me. Although right now I feel like I don't have much of an advantage, considering the whole 'learning the ropes' thing. But, the offer stands."

It hurts a lot more than Lydia's willing to let on that Tony has still shown no sign of remembering her. She can't decide if she's hurt because it's offensive to be forgotten, or if it's out of sympathy for him having endured whatever he endured in, probably, the Technology sector which managed to selectively remove his memory of this place and the people in it.

She gives him a little smile that probably falls short of her big, green eyes and she nods, pressing her lips together sheepishly. It's reason, perhaps, to hope that those memories are still in there somewhere, but more likely it's just an indicator of the kind of man Tony actually is, in spite of the facade he allows others to see.

"I will, Tony, thank you. And you can ask me questions about this place. I'm just saying there may be questions I don't actually know the answers to, which someone who's been here longer might," she admits. Then there's a short pause. "...I should get inside before someone steals my hiding spot for the morning debriefing. I'll see you around," she says with another little smile before excusing herself and distorting back into the crowd to process all of it.

Well not everyone was wearing the same jumpsuits. Morgana's was an even less flattering orange that very well could have been plucked straight from prison suppliers.

She was considering asking Root if she could program some fashion sense into the damn computer if they were forced to stay here. Root could do that... probably.

When she slid up beside the new man, she took a moment to glance at him as she picked out a mug of hot, steaming... whatever it was and took a sip. Something about him made her think she'd seen him before, perhaps out of the corner of her eye as she walked somewhere and yet everything about him screamed new blood.

'There's some little cubes in that metal dish that make it sweeter, if it's too bitter for your liking.' she said, openly looking at him now. 'though you look like you could use something strong.'

Tony wasn't a stranger to horrible coffee; after all, he and Yinsen had to make due with makeshift coffee that they managed to put together from old coffee grounds that kept being 'recycled' until there was really nothing left. He had lived through that for three months, but this...

Honestly, he wasn't really sure what was in his cup. It definitely wasn't coffee, but if this was the only thing he had access to, he'd make due. For now, anyway.

Before he could take a sip, though, her voice distracted him and he looked over with a small appreciative smile at the suggestion. "Generally I tend to keep my coffee as-is, but I may try the little cubes if the taste is more than I can handle." She wasn't wrong, though; he really could use something strong, but his first instinct wasn't just coffee. There was a faint urge as the familiar craving for scotch kicked in, but he dismissed the thought for now as quickly as it managed to filter in.

"I'm Tony," he added as he offered his hand to shake. Old habits were hard to erase, and considering how ingrained his manners were, the gesture is done almost unconsciously. "I'm guessing this is as good as the 'coffee' gets around here?"
lefey: (062)

[personal profile] lefey 2016-08-11 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
'Tony. That's a nice name,' she said, her smile widening a bit as she belatedly took his hand. 'My name is Morgana. To be honest, I've never had real coffee, so I'm just going to go with "this is as good as it gets". There's no coffee back home.' Of course the only things this place had in common with Camelot were an abundance of rules, an abundance of people and an apparent fondness for executions.

'So you're new? Did you do orientation yet?'
im_ironman: (pic#10193557)

[personal profile] im_ironman 2016-08-13 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you. It's a pleasure to meet you, Morgana. Now that's a beautiful name." It was said with the usual, charming Stark smile, but the compliment was sincere. The smiling expression shifted to one of surprise, though, when she mentioned that there was no coffee back home. Wait, no coffee? The thought was just impossible to process for someone that drank pots of coffee in a single day. "Wow. Really, no coffee? That's...interesting."

And mind boggling for him, but he was good to not add more shock to his already surprised expression.

Instead, he took a sip of the 'coffee' and tried to refrain from cringing as he nodded. "I am new, yeah. Trying to settle in, I guess, and find my way around. How long have you been here?"
lefey: (086)

[personal profile] lefey 2016-08-13 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
'If it makes you feel better, it's not just the coffee we lack back home.' she looked amused, perhaps too much so as she added 'something about it being the fifth century Anno Domini.' Morgana took a sip of her drink as she watched him. 'Did used to have dragons, though.'

'Here? Three... maybe four months?' was it four months by now? The thought of it made her smile soften as she counted back in her head. 'We haven't had new specials in some time, I thought the computer got bored or something.'
im_ironman: (pic#10193568)

[personal profile] im_ironman 2016-08-13 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
It was probably a good thing that he hadn't taken another sip of his coffee, because Tony would have probably choked on it. As it was, he looked fascinated by what she said. "Dragons definitely beat out coffee, so I'll give you that."

Swirling his mug around slightly, as if to somehow stir the coffee, Tony nodded slightly. Wow, four months. He would have said a comment about that, but her comment about the computer made him tilt his head slightly in curiosity. "Huh. So no new blood, huh? Well, guess I should feel special that I got 'picked,' I guess." He stayed quiet for a moment as he looked down at the coffee, before turning back to her. "You know, I kept thinking this was some sort of dream. But...you've been here for months, huh? No chance you're some really elaborate part of my imagination?"

It was said almost playfully, but it was also partly an actual question because maybe he was in a little more disbelief than he had originally thought.

'Well the King kinda killed them all when I was a babe, but he does like to ruin all things good and interesting, so there's no surprise there.' Just saying the word "King" made her take a long sip of her drink, wishing faintly that it was wine instead.

'Do you have a secret fantasy life in a grim, dirty, metal box full of random people from random times and places?' she quirked a brow at him. 'But I might be in your dreams now.' she said, her tone warm and light. 'You never know.'

"Killed all the dragons? Leave it to one person to ruin it for everyone."

He chuckled under his breath. "My dreams can be weird, but you're right, I don't think I've reached metal-box-full-of-people levels of weird." Yet, anyway. He remembered other things from his nightmares. Caves, and aliens, and falling, and--

The quirk of the eyebrow made him smirk, her words managing to distract him before his thoughts ran away from him. "Is that a promise? I wouldn't complain about that." His tone is just as light, the comment out from his mouth before he could even realize that he was flirting. But, well, flirting was as natural to him as breathing sometimes and apparently it didn't change even if he was in this weird place.
lefey: (070)

[personal profile] lefey 2016-08-18 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
She nearly laughed. If only Tony knew just how true it was that Uther, singularly, was capable of ruining everything for everyone. If she wasn't caught in the middle of it, it might even be impressive.

'Well I'm a lot more memorable than the coffee, so I would hope so.' her grin was impossibly impish, 'I'm sure you'll remember me,' she winked, then laughed. 'I'm going to make you late for your first day.'
im_ironman: (pic#10193501)

[personal profile] im_ironman 2016-08-24 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
His smile grew as he gave a slight nod. "Trust me, you are definitely more memorable than the coffee. Remembering you won't be a problem."

It was said with all the confidence in the world, because it wasn't a lie at all. Having a little fun had successfully lifted his spirits, at least enough to momentarily forget the overwhelming confusion he had felt upon waking up, and he was thankful for it.

What he wasn't thankful for was the wannabe-coffee that remained in his mug, but he downed another sip for good measure. "Yeah, I should probably report for duty. I'm assuming there's no room for error or...you know, being late?"
lefey: (034)

'I mean there's room for it... if you're not especially attached to your body. Since we're "clones" they fix us and replace us if we've made a habit of being naughty.' if you got caught, which thankfully she hadn't yet and neither had anyone she really cared about here.

'Do you know where you're going, or do you need a little direction?'

"I mean, I'm a little attached to my body, but if it gets replaced, then I guess that's not too bad." He wasn't actually serious, but he couldn't help but be a smartass.

"Yeah, I think I do. But, depending on where you're going, I wouldn't say no to company along the way. I'd hate to make you late, though, so no pressure."

I know I'm backtagging but there's no way Steve wouldn't have seen Tony on his first day (mun fail)

[personal profile] a_man_out_of_time 2016-08-14 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It's been a long time since Steve has been shocked. Exactly 102 days, in fact. But seeing Tony Stark walk back into the Commissary this morning was not something the Captain had anticipated dealing with.

He doesn't approach right away because he just can't. There are people who want his attention and a Special he was attempting to understand better — leaving mid-sentence would just sabotage that effort. But Steve took particular care that morning to check the rosters for Tony's service firm position.

Given his current rank and position within the Armed Forces, he has the ability to drop by other sectors now, just to check on their security measures. He'd be paying a special visit to wherever Tony was stationed that afternoon.
