daycycle 102

[Aug 7 - Aug 13]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

At 1200 today, a list of high-ranking non-registered mutants will be released to the public. These officials will scramble to account for their tardiness in registering to the Computer and will shortly after be assigned Troubleshooters as body guards against retaliating Anti-Mutant members. All assigned troubleshooters are to keep their charges alive until shift change at 0700 on Day 103, using whatever means necessary. Permission temporarily granted to travel to restricted areas within the clearance level of their charge. Both bodyguards should be present at all times with few exceptions.

Barry Allen & Jillian Holtzmann - Otto Vaska, Stasis - can suspend time briefly, INDIGO, Central Processing
Steve Rogers & Parker - Xeno Fane, Charm - can make people like them, BLUE, Production, Logistics & Commissary
Blue Sargent & Morgana - Priskilla Linos, Polymorphism - can shapeshift, BLUE, Housing, Planning & Development
Cisco Ramon & Stiles Stilinski - Gabi Aline, Adrenaline Control - can control adrenaline levels in others, BLUE, Technical Services
Root & Tony Stark - Sol Sisel, Desolidity - can walk through walls, INDIGO, Research & Development

[ Player note: Characters may notice that any mutant abilities they once possessed may have a very weak showing when in close proximity to Alpha mutants. Mission success or failure is up to the players.]

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in the Commissary and will be hosted by the Alpha Chess Club. Come participate in the biggest (and only) Chess Tournament sanctioned by the Computer.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

"I mean, I'm a little attached to my body, but if it gets replaced, then I guess that's not too bad." He wasn't actually serious, but he couldn't help but be a smartass.

"Yeah, I think I do. But, depending on where you're going, I wouldn't say no to company along the way. I'd hate to make you late, though, so no pressure."

'Depends on your stance on mind altering as well as body swapping,' she said it quietly, lest some microphone actually be working but she doubted they were.

'I have my ways of getting around quickly. I can walk you at least part of the way. It would be terrible to lose our new specials when we barely know any of you. Careless even. Possibly treason.'

A small twitch of his lips was his only reaction to Morgana's comment about mind altering before he took another sip of the sludge in his cup. Partly because he doesn't want to say more out in public, where they could be heard since he doesn't want to say something to get her in trouble, but also because in a way he was also considering the punishment and if it was worth him looking for ways to push the limit later. Not that he was particularly looking forward to it, or was even considering anything in particular, but still.

After one last sip, he set tossed the cup away. "I'm ready when you are. Where are you headed?"

If she noticed, she didn't let on. Instead, when he said he was ready, she actually offered him her arm, like they were back in her world and time and not in ugly jumpsuits in god only knew what time and what particular hole on earth.

'Hydroponics. I play with plants and tiny little robots I only vaguely understand. It's quite relaxing so long as they don't try to kill you for reasons unknown.'

At the offer, he hooked his arm with hers, a smile crossing his lips.

"Oh yeah? I'm in Bot Processing. If you want, I can help you understand tiny little robots in general. I've had some experience with them in the past."

Even the murderous type, he wants to add, but considering Ultron is one big awful mark on his record back home? Yeah, no, thanks. He'd rather not admit that he built one that killed a bunch of people.

"I haven't been exposed to the bots here just yet," he adds, "but still. The offer stands."

'Bot processing, hmm?' she wondered briefly if he might get along with Root, but then that always seemed to be a bit of a toss up — Morgana like the woman but she was an enigma.

'Do they have bots in your world, then? They would think them magic if I managed to take one home. Besides we lack what fuels them, they are trickier to feed than horses.' rather in spite of herself she had become interested in the little bots that on day one had tried to do her in, there was something to be said for how they puttered along doing their thing when they weren't misbehaving.

"We do, yeah. I actually used to own a couple." A small smile crosses his lips, and he finds himself missing his bots. And his lab. And just home in general. This isn't a cave in the middle of Afghanistan, but for a moment he is reminded of his days there, trapped and unable to go home.

He doesn't let himself get too far down that rabbit hole, though, because he knows he won't be able to climb back out. That's the last thing he needs, especially since he just arrived.

"There are batteries that can be made, to make them last for about a year without needing to re-charge them. I would make you one to take home, if it was possible." He smiled over at her and gave a shrug. "You know, if that was a thing. And if you didn't mind a few people thinking it was magic."

'Batteries?' she paused for a moment, leaning against him as she did so, their arms still entwined. 'Do you mean those things that make... other things go when they're not attached to the wires in the wall?' for someone from the 5th century, she was doing alright for herself but honestly, it was all a great deal to take in and sometimes she found herself uncertain.

She began walking again, leading him around a corner as she did. 'Magic is treason back home. I don't mind, but Uther tends too.'

Tony didn't mind her leaning against him, or even the question about batteries. If anything, he just smiled as he gave a nod. "Yep, that's exactly what those are. They're pretty handy to have." For a moment he considered sharing that he used to have a sort of battery installed into his chest to keep his heart from getting shredded by shrapnel, but he didn't want to really overwhelm her with those details.

"Then it's a good thing this place probably wouldn't let you take souvenirs back home." And who knew if they would even be able to go home at some point, anyway. He wanted to believe so, because in the back of his mind he was wondering what was going on back home, how was Rhodey, but it's another one of those things that he was trying not to obsess over.

For now, anyway.

"Who's Uther?"
lefey: (074)

[personal profile] lefey 2016-09-19 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
'Uther is the King of Camelot, he was my father's liege lord and good friend.' supposedly good friend, and her disbelief shows in how the word is almost spat out.

'I am, or was as the case may be in here, his ward. I have been since I was ten years old and my father died in battle. My mother was already dead.' there was a sort of matter-of-factness about her being orphaned at such a young age, in spite of how much she missed them. It couldn't be helped, unless... well the computer wasn't likely to resurrect her parents for her, it just wasn't that kind. 'So I live in his castle, I eat his food, I am "protected" by a man who would execute children and let his best friend die by not sending reinforcements.'

'As you can imagine, it's terribly comforting.' Sarcasm? From a 5th century lady? Surely not.

Tony could relate to the matter-of-factness relating to speaking about dead parents. He himself generally used that tone whenever he spoke about Howard and sometimes even his mother, just because he was in his late teens when his own parents were killed, but Morgana was ten. That's so young, and he can't imagine how she must have felt losing her parents that young.

"He sounds like a swell guy," Tony answers with his own sarcasm dripping from his words. "Well, being here will give you a sort of vacation from having to deal with him, so... Guess that's something, huh?"
