[Aug 7 - Aug 13]
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.
At 1200 today, a list of high-ranking non-registered mutants will be released to the public. These officials will scramble to account for their tardiness in registering to the Computer and will shortly after be assigned Troubleshooters as body guards against retaliating Anti-Mutant members. All assigned troubleshooters are to keep their charges alive until shift change at 0700 on Day 103, using whatever means necessary. Permission temporarily granted to travel to restricted areas within the clearance level of their charge. Both bodyguards should be present at all times with few exceptions.
Barry Allen & Jillian Holtzmann - Otto Vaska, Stasis - can suspend time briefly, INDIGO, Central Processing
Steve Rogers & Parker - Xeno Fane, Charm - can make people like them, BLUE, Production, Logistics & Commissary
Blue Sargent & Morgana - Priskilla Linos, Polymorphism - can shapeshift, BLUE, Housing, Planning & Development
Cisco Ramon & Stiles Stilinski - Gabi Aline, Adrenaline Control - can control adrenaline levels in others, BLUE, Technical Services
Root & Tony Stark - Sol Sisel, Desolidity - can walk through walls, INDIGO, Research & Development
[ Player note: Characters may notice that any mutant abilities they once possessed may have a very weak showing when in close proximity to Alpha mutants. Mission success or failure is up to the players.]
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in the Commissary and will be hosted by the Alpha Chess Club. Come participate in the biggest (and only) Chess Tournament sanctioned by the Computer.
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.
lol I'm so sorry that I'm not even a little bit sorry about this
She's trying to mask the overall fail-in-a-cup with what passes for sweeteners and creamers when she looks up in time to see him approaching. Lydia's face drops, first with surprise and then with relief. Finally, it lights up with recognition and excitement. He helped her so much when she'd first gotten out of the hospital after the attack and she's been worried about him since his arrest. If he's okay, then that means Ray might be, too, and the system Matt's working within might not be a total waste of his time.
It doesn't occur to her that there's a possibility he might not remember her. After all, Ray literally blew himself to smithereens and he'd still remembered her a clone later. So she thinks nothing of practically tackling him with a quick hug before reminding herself he'd never really been the touchy-feely type to her knowledge. So the hug is short and then she's letting go and stepping back. "You're okay! I was so freaked out that maybe 'arrested' was Computer code for 'totally freaking dead' or something. Are you okay?! You're okay, right?" She's babbling now, a little, but she's just so excited to see Tony alive and well that she can't help it.
bwaha never be sorry, I love this!
Her words are another surprise altogether, though. Arrested? He's...
What?
"Uh, yeah. I'm-- Yeah, I'm okay. Are...you?" His eyes narrow very slightly, almost as if trying to remember if he's supposed to know her, but he's coming up blank. Which is even more confusing, considering how she seems to know him, and despite how hard he tries to keep his expression neutral, he can't help the way his brow furrows slightly.
"I'm sorry, who are you?"
no subject
"...Lydia..." she says slowly, pressing her lips together in thought before speaking again after a brief pause. "...are you not Tony Stark...? Because that's a thing here, that happens, one person looking like another, sometimes. And if that's the case, I'm really, really sorry and this was just a big misunderstanding."
At least he's a RED rather than a higher clearance level. That would be ten times more humiliating.
no subject
"...no, I am Tony Stark. I just don't think I have met you."
There's a faint change in his tone as he finishes speaking, almost as if he's asking more than letting her know that they haven't met just yet. The way she's looking at him, though, is answer enough, and Tony's quest for coffee is completely forgotten.
"So, Lydia. You've...met me. When, exactly?"
Is this some sort of glitch, like he had been told upon waking up? Was that really a thing? Tony hadn't believed it, but now he's starting to wonder if he should reconsider his stance on the whole thing.
no subject
How could he not remember? This place and the things that happened here the first month or so she'd been around were pretty hard to miss or forget and Tony had been there for most of them, too.
She seems to snap out of a train of thought, then, looking back at him rather than...sort of through him.
"A couple of months ago. You were teaching me to fight after the hate group attack. You gave me this thing, um, like I pressed a button on it and there was this, like, not-quite-an-explosion-but-also-totally-a-minor-explosion that went off. So that if the ASS came back for round two, I could buy myself some time in a pinch. ...and then you were arrested before you could finish making me a replacement after I panicked and used mine on some random group of INFRAREDs that I thought were following me…"
When she doesn't see any recollection on his expression right away, Lydia deflates a little. "Never mind. Anyway, Steve is here, still. He can probably fill you in more than I can. We weren't that close," she says, and it's a lie, because Tony took her under wing the way Melissa McCall always seemed to have done with Stiles. She'd realized not too far into their lessons that he wasn't just teaching her to fight. He actually seemed to care whether she learned it well enough to prevent another attack. Not that Barry didn't when he was teaching her, it had just been a bit of a surprise coming from Tony. He seemed a lot more...aloof than Barry, was all. Tony probably never would've admitted it, but yeah. They were close.
no subject
He takes in the way that she deflates, though, and her body language. She's good at lying, he would even probably believe her, but here's the thing: Tony Stark doesn't just give his tech to anyone. At least, in normal circumstances, he doesn't. In some way it's his way of looking out for those he cares about, and that's Tony's sign that her 'we weren't that close' is not quite accurate.
Except, he doesn't call it out even his expression shifts into one that is a little more understanding. He nods slightly with a faint hum, and reaches for a mug.
"Well, you know... Just because I don't remember you, it doesn't mean that you can't fill me in. Or that I can't get to know you again." It's said casually, as if this isn't a big deal, but he glances over at her after a small moment as if testing the waters. "If you want, I mean."
no subject
He's got her figured out, hasn't he...?
With a soft sigh, Lydia tosses the coffee stirrers that have basically melted in her coffee into the trash and takes a few more so that she can go back to stirring properly. "Honestly, Steve could probably tell you more. I only met you after the A.S.S. beat the shit out of me and left me in a storage closet to bleed to death while they posted the video of the attack for the rest of the Specials to see. I put up a post on the network asking who wanted to teach me to defend myself. You and Barry offered. I worked with both of you until you got arrested and now I work with him and Matt."
She shrugs and tries to match the semi-aloof attitude, tossing the new coffee stirrers and lifting her own cup to take a sip. "You don't have to feel obligated just because I remember you, Tony. If it comes back, it comes back and if it doesn't then...I guess it's up to you," she says. The last thing she wants is a pity party. ...she just wants him to remember. "You should talk to Steve first, though, either way. And then get back to me if you actually do want to get to know me again. Not that I shared a whole lot the first time, but...I appreciate the sentiment." She gives him a small smile to indicate that she does, in fact, mean that.
no subject
"Besides," he continues with a small sigh under his breath. "Just because I can have Steve fill me in, it doesn't mean I can't ask you too, right?"
Because Tony doesn't believe in pity parties, and this definitely isn't one of them. He hates the idea of them in general, so that's not what this is about. As much as Tony could say and believe that he worked better alone, he knows that he needs allies, and if Lydia had even hugged him in greeting... Well. He could trust her. Right?
Now he just needs to talk to Steve. Which... Heh. First instinct says no, that Steve won't want to see him, that he himself won't have a good reaction to seeing him because the last thing he remembers pertaining to Steve is Siberia, and the aftertaste that remains in his mouth at the thought has nothing to do with the sludge that is pretending to be coffee in his mug. His fingers idly drum against the side of the cup, a small sign of the way his thoughts are running a thousand miles a minute, but he tries to quiet them for now.
"How are you doing? With the whole...learning who to defend yourself thing?"
no subject
Lydia gave a non-committing shrug at that. "Well, Steve has been here longer and seen more than I have, so you can ask me, but he could probably answer your questions better than I could," she admits, as much as she hates to defer to others. She likes to be the one who knows everything. In this place, she nearly never is. It's frustrating. More frustrating than she likes to let on.
Again, at his question, Lydia gives a shrug. "All right. I'm still learning. It's hard to find the time when both myself and one of them are free," she says. Although, it's less difficult to find free time with Matt, but she prefers to spend the time with him doing other things... "I'm getting there." She opens her mouth to add that she's got Gucci to help her out in the mean time and closes it again because maybe that's offering up too much right now. She knew she could trust him before, but that doesn't necessarily mean she can trust him now.
no subject
It's not such a little detail, really. Just the idea of something like that happening feels like it makes his skin itch, and he can't imagine what it must have been like to watch her be nearly beaten to death on television just to prove a point. He hides any annoyance over it with a small smile, especially when she mentions that he can detect bullshit pretty easily and, well. She's certainly not wrong.
His smile falls a little, though, at the mention and reminder that he'd have to talk to Steve for actual answers of this place. That's certainly something he does not want to do, but he really doesn't feel like sharing that with Lydia. He sure as hell doesn't want to mention the why behind it, either, so he just gives a small nod and drowns his own words with more coffee.
"Good," he just says instead, trying not to grimace at the taste of the coffee that lingers in his mouth. "If there's anything I can do...I'm serious. You can still ask me. Although right now I feel like I don't have much of an advantage, considering the whole 'learning the ropes' thing. But, the offer stands."
no subject
She gives him a little smile that probably falls short of her big, green eyes and she nods, pressing her lips together sheepishly. It's reason, perhaps, to hope that those memories are still in there somewhere, but more likely it's just an indicator of the kind of man Tony actually is, in spite of the facade he allows others to see.
"I will, Tony, thank you. And you can ask me questions about this place. I'm just saying there may be questions I don't actually know the answers to, which someone who's been here longer might," she admits. Then there's a short pause. "...I should get inside before someone steals my hiding spot for the morning debriefing. I'll see you around," she says with another little smile before excusing herself and distorting back into the crowd to process all of it.
