Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Free Enterprise is pushing a new, adjusted street form of No Fear (Dynomorphin). The original pharmaceutical is meant for those in Ultraviolet ranks, but this form is much dirtier, cheaper and more addictive. In order to get people hooked, they've put a healthy dose in the wagon wheel's ORANGE and RED level coffee-like supplies. The drug causes a very bullet proof feeling of euphoria. Side effects include paranoia, hallucinations, increased sociability, increased sex drive, panic attacks, excited delirium - extreme agitation and violence, and the temporary loss of feeling in nerve endings (inability to feel pain). A standard dose lasts four hours. Withdrawal symptoms include nosebleeds, sweating, nausea, dehydration and blinding migraines. For those that want more of the drug, Free Enterprise will make it easily accessible.

At 1200, a squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Medical Services to escort Caitlin Snow away for suspected treason. Anyone asking for additional information will be told it's classified and warned not to continue asking questions. Approximately fifteen minutes later another squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Internal Security to lead Vision away. Anyone asking for additional information will be given the same party line.

At 1400 today, Jack Harkness will be summoned by Mind Control to the Production offices on the twenty fifth floor. There he will be offered a position in Media Production where he will assist with the Teela O'Malley show. This position will come with a clearance level promotion of ORANGE, since the talk show star doesn't associate with anyone of lower clearance level. Jack will be responsible for ramping up the excitement levels of the live audience and the personal entertainment of the star.

Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in Meeting Room G, Wagon Wheel Floor 24 and will be hosted by the Alpha Smiling Club. Join us tonight for refreshments and tips on faking it until you make it!

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

She's fortunate since she's stuck in the color and she's right, she does look good in red.

Pshaw. Gracie likes the company. She's pleased to be making friends here, particularly with her roommates and there's the added bonus of making friends with a character from one of her favorite books. Dancing is something Gracie will always join in, even if she's not the best dancer in the world. It's fun and that's enough for Gracie to (potentially) embarrass herself. "Just RED level bubbley drink, I think. I haven't had one before, but I like it."

As far as she knows, there's no alcohol in it, but she can't guarantee that.

Not that Katniss really cares how she looks. She's never been all that interested in her own appearance. Her hair is tied back in a serviceable braid. So long as what she wears is serviceable and warm, she's okay with whatever they give her.

Whether or not the drink has alcohol in it doesn't really matter. There's still enough drugs in her system that she's drunk on happiness. It keeps her dancing and laughing and wanting company. Only one of these three things come naturally to Katniss and it certainly isn't anything that really involves socializing.

"Too bad we can't get it in the Commissary," Katniss laments. "I don't mind the water but this does taste really good."

Gracie does. She's not obsessed with it the way a lot of girls her age are, but she likes to feel like she looks pretty and for her that means clothes that aren't a jumpsuit and standard issue. It also means eyeliner, which she's grateful she's been able to buy on the black market.

There's enough of whatever was in the coffee in Gracie's system to make her not worry about it. She probably wouldn't have worried anyway; she drinks at home, not a lot and not often, but she's no stranger to a beer every now and then or a fruity drink.

"Actually, I think we can? This is the first time I've tried one, but I remember seeing something about bubble drink on the commissary menu. Maybe it was for the higher clearance levels," she muses before taking another sip.

The mention of the higher clearance levels causes Katniss to scowl. She's happy and easily excitable today but she's still Katniss. Though she doesn't want to remember anything from the glitches, she remembers the life that she had lived in the Seam. Growing up in the poorest neighborhood in the poorest District of Panem hadn't been easy. The Hollow Days date back as early as she can remember.

If they're all Specials, if they've all been brought here from elsewhere, then where did that dividing line between different levels come from? Why should some be allowed perks that others are denied?

"That isn't fair."

Gracie has been lucky and she's never experienced hunger or need the way Katniss has. Her family was never wealthy, but they were well off enough. Hunger is something she'd only coped with when she'd protested her mother's tofu phase. Here, she experiences it because she dislikes the soylent and she only eats enough to stave away real hunger.

Whether Katniss realizes it or not (and Gracie is only beginning to realize it because of her job) there's a divide between the alphas and the Specials as well because the Specials start out at level RED and the Alphas start out lower than that. However, Gracie can commiserate with and agree with Katniss on the divide. At the same time, she knows that the levels are meant to foster loyalty and compliance.

She lifts one shoulder as if to say 'and yet'. "What is fair here?" Come to think of it, it kind of makes her angry and that shows in the scowl that develops on Gracie's face.

It's been hard to stay level-headed here and actually think. Since arriving here Katniss has either been buried in her grief or, as the case may be now, drugged to a point where she's incapable of thinking anything that might bring her down. Actually pausing to consider the full scope of the situation she's found herself in? That's been next to impossible to do.

It's only now, as the effects of the drugs start to wear off later at night, that she can actually start to think. And Gracie has a very, very good point. A small scowl starts to form on Katniss' face. "I don't know."

Katniss has had it difficult. Gracie knows that she's relatively lucky in the fact that her life had been mostly low-key and her only real tragedy had happened when she'd been very young. She's only had to deal with adjusting to this place.

Gracie gives her a small, quiet smile. She takes another sip of her drink. "Come on. I think it's time to go back to our rooms." The drugs are wearing off for her too and it seems like a good time to end the night.
