Daycycle 112 [ October 16 - October 22 ]
daycycle 112
[Oct 16 - Oct 22]
[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
No Special Troubleshooters have been selected for a mission this morning.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.
Free Enterprise is pushing a new, adjusted street form of No Fear (Dynomorphin). The original pharmaceutical is meant for those in Ultraviolet ranks, but this form is much dirtier, cheaper and more addictive. In order to get people hooked, they've put a healthy dose in the wagon wheel's ORANGE and RED level coffee-like supplies. The drug causes a very bullet proof feeling of euphoria. Side effects include paranoia, hallucinations, increased sociability, increased sex drive, panic attacks, excited delirium - extreme agitation and violence, and the temporary loss of feeling in nerve endings (inability to feel pain). A standard dose lasts four hours. Withdrawal symptoms include nosebleeds, sweating, nausea, dehydration and blinding migraines. For those that want more of the drug, Free Enterprise will make it easily accessible.
At 1200, a squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Medical Services to escort Caitlin Snow away for suspected treason. Anyone asking for additional information will be told it's classified and warned not to continue asking questions. Approximately fifteen minutes later another squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Internal Security to lead Vision away. Anyone asking for additional information will be given the same party line.
At 1400 today, Jack Harkness will be summoned by Mind Control to the Production offices on the twenty fifth floor. There he will be offered a position in Media Production where he will assist with the Teela O'Malley show. This position will come with a clearance level promotion of ORANGE, since the talk show star doesn't associate with anyone of lower clearance level. Jack will be responsible for ramping up the excitement levels of the live audience and the personal entertainment of the star.
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in Meeting Room G, Wagon Wheel Floor 24 and will be hosted by the Alpha Smiling Club. Join us tonight for refreshments and tips on faking it until you make it!
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

"Wahcha," she says making a horrible whip cracking sound flicking her wrist at him, that goofy grin on her face. "I get to do a lot of my work remotely too, so that's a nice thing." She's surprised by the way he puts his arm around her shoulders, but she doesn't move away from him. In fact, she leans against him a little.
no subject
It isn't lost on him that Gracie's leaned into his hold rather than stiffened or pulled away from it. He takes that as a good sign. "Yeah? What do you do here, anyway? I feel like you might've told me but I can't remember. We were kind of trying not to die at the time, if I recall."
Cisco pauses in the hall and looks over at her. "...you wanna go somewhere more private and hang out...?" he asks. Hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
no subject
Oh good. She'd hate to put forth an effort and he not recognize it. "Mind Control. I'm your local network girl," she tells him. "Lead in the water. Attacks the day before. Average temperature for the day and what sort of Improvement we're having." Really, it's not a very important job, but it could be one day. She's pleased to be doing it anyway. She'd like a little more leeway on what she broadcasts, but she's pretty sure more network journalists want that.
His question takes her by surprise, but it's a good surprised. Her smile is still that big, goofy one. "Yeah? I mean...yeah. I'd like that."
no subject
Cisco nods again, this time acknowledging her answer and mulling it over. Mind Control. Seems like a weird thing to call a reporter, initially, but then again...maybe they intend for her to brainwash people en masse with her reports, so maybe Mind Control makes perfect sense. Cisco deliberately does not point that out to Gracie, lest he ruin the fact that she seems to kind of like her job. "Hey, that's though. There are more boring things you could be doing around here, from what I hear," he tells her.
When Gracie agrees, Cisco smiles. "Awesome," he says and he turns them to change course. He'll probably regret it a little later, showing her to Specials HQ without asking anyone else if they were cool with that first, but whatever. Nobody tends to be down there most of the time around this time of day, because everyone's eating lunch or at their service firm. They should get some decent alone time down there. "There's this kind of secretish sort of place. It's a bit of a walk, but...if that's cool with you?"
no subject
Gracie isn't exactly comfortable with the name either. She hasn't been asked to do anything she wouldn't do anyway, not yet so that makes her feel a little better about the whole thing. She's glad he doesn't point that out right now. Maybe later they can discuss it. Maybe, she'll confess her concerns to him about the job. "Definitely more boring things." Like sewage and food production. She'd rather not find out any more about the soylent than she has to.
She lets him lead her easily, eventually weaving her arm around his waist as they walk and she tells herself it's because it's just easier to walk that way. It has nothing to do with wanting to be closer to him. "Totally cool with me," Gracie responds. She gives him a mischievous look. "Is this where you take all the girls?"
At the same time, she's sincerely hoping there isn't a line of girls.
no subject
"Of course," he says with a smirk, one that says he's joking as he gives her a little squeeze.
Cisco leads her the rest of the way down a few different, winding corridors and opens the door to HQ, to be greeted by Gucci, Barry's friend's PetBot who Cisco thinks maybe spends more time in HQ than the rest of the Specials combined. "Hey buddy, go lay down," he tries, because he's heard Barry do it and the little metal dog actually listened to him. He's pleasantly surprised when the little guy actually does it, turning and wandering a few yards away to lay down under the lab table.
Looking over at Gracie, Cisco smiles. "Welcome to Specials HQ," he announces after closing the door behind them both. "It's not much, but it's secret and safe, so this is where some of us spend a lot of our downtime."
no subject
Pshaw. Other girls are ridiculous if they don't see that Cisco is a catch
clearly all the alphas see it. She really hopes she's not dangerous. At least the only danger she's likely to get Cisco in is the danger he'll be in while saving her. Though, there's a part of her that wishes she was more of the hot-dangerous combo. She'd rather not be a villain, but who doesn't want to be a super hero? She gets that he's joking so she smirks. "It's good to know I'm one of the masses," she teases, bumping him a little with her hip.
She has the feeling she ought to be leaving a trail of bread crumbs or something. She's never going to remember this for later. "Oh! He's adorable!" she says of the pet bot. She'd seen them for sale when she'd gone to buy eyeliner at the infrared market, but she hadn't gotten close simply because she hadn't assumed she could afford one with her current credits.
When he welcomes her to the HQ, she actually takes a moment to look around. "It's really safe? As in...no one can hear us or see us? Unless they're here with us, obviously." Can she actually say anything she wants here without being arrested for treason?
no subject
Her reaction to the PetBot gets another smile out of him, this one more endeared. "He's Lydia's, I think? His name is Gucci. That's a terrible name for a robot, in my opinion, but..." he trails off before he can accidentally point out that the damn thing plays fetch because he didn't come here to play with a robot. He came here to play with Gracie...
Leading her to the beat up old sofa, Cisco drops down and pulls Gracie into his lap like it's something they've done a million times, even though it's the first. "Really safe. No cameras, no microphones. Nobody can see or hear us if they're not in here. It's completely safe. Don't tell anybody where to find it; it's just for the Specials and even then only some Specials know about it, because I think the people who started it kind of want to trickle out slowly and make sure the people we bring here are trustworthy before we show them."
no subject
"I'll have to tell her I met him and he's cute." Yeah, she might get distracted playing fetch with the petbot and really, Cisco is much more interesting.
A laugh bursts out of her when he pulls her into his lap, but it doesn't seem out of the ordinary today. It seems like this is exactly what he should have done, this is exactly where she should sit. She folds her arm against his chest, hand up so she can flutter her fingers through his hair. She's very close to him and that also seems perfect as opposed to sudden. "I won't say a word," she tells him. "Cross my heart," she makes an X over her heart with her free hand. "Soooo completely safe, private. It's kind of the perfect place to spend an afternoon." Her voice is quiet and rather than look around the place, her focus is entirely on Cisco. She feels fluttery and warm, bubbly, like the drink they serve here.
It's a good feeling and today, she doesn't question it.
no subject
"Completely safe and private," he agrees, eyelids drooping just slightly as he wets his lips and looks at her mouth for a moment before looking back at her eyes. "I think it's kind of perfect, too," he adds and, before he can second guess himself, Cisco leans forward a little to kiss her.
It's chaste and soft; testing the waters, but he doesn't pull all the way away again when he parts from her. Cisco just sort of hovers close in case she feels so inclined to return the kiss and holy crap he wants her to.
no subject
She's really glad that he's smart enough to pay attention to her body language, that he comes to that conclusion himself. In a lot of ways, Gracie isn't acting that out of the ordinary. She's just far more familiar with him than she would normally be given the amount of time she's known him. She likes the familiarity and affection that he's showing her as well. Gracie is an affectionate person, for the most part so she doesn't need a lot of encouragement. Between Cisco and the coffee she's had today, it's more than enough.
Her gaze catches on his lips when he wets them then flicker back up to his eyes a moment after his gaze finds hers. He probably noticed that she was looking at his mouth. She doesn't have time to comment (and she would have just been making small talk) before his lips are on hers and she's not thinking about anything else except this kiss.
It ends all too soon, at least for her liking. She winds her fingers in his hair and tugs him closer while leaning in to kiss him. Her kiss isn't as chaste; it's not testing the waters. Her kiss is deeper, harder, the tip of her tongue touching his bottom lip as she opens her mouth to him.
no subject
Cisco's lips part along with hers and his tongue meets Gracie's, relishing the fact that this is totally happening right now. He doesn't know what's gotten into either of them but in that moment, Cisco honestly could not give less of a crap. He's just glad they're on the same page.
One of his hands moves to cup her face and he returns her kiss in earnest with just as much desire and heat; he's giving as good as he gets until he has to pull back for a second to take a breath, because apparently, he'd forgotten to breathe, he'd been so sucked into the moment with her. "Holy crap..." he breathes.
no subject
She practically melts into the kiss, moving into him, shifting so that she's facing him a little more, her free hand going to the collar of his jumpsuit, fingers slipping into the collar of it. His skin is warm and she wants to get closer to that warmth. They are definitely on the same page.
When he breaks away, she laughs breathlessly, taking joy in the moment, in him, in this kiss. "Best description for that kiss ever," she tells him. "Why didn't we start out doing this? From the very first day?"
Because they've been wasting so much time.
no subject
"Uh...probably because you almost got crushed by a sign and people were shooting at us?" he asks more than answers, his kisses moving to her jaw and down her neck so that they can keep talking but that he doesn't have to give up the affectionate gestures entirely to do it. A moment later, the kisses make their way back to the corner of her mouth. "I would be totally okay with not walking backward after this, though," he adds before he captures her mouth again with his own.
In retrospect, he'll feel really dirty about this because neither of them is really themselves right now, but in the moment, Cisco is too busy reveling in the attention from an obvious ten to consider that.
no subject
"Right. We were a little busy with the whole saving my life thing". Her breath catches when his lips press against her neck and her eyelids flutter closed as she dips her fingers further beneath the collar of his jumpsuit, nudging the zipper down a little so she stroke his collarbone and the curve of his neck. "Mmmmmhmmm," she hums contentedly into the kiss, shifting a little to get closer to him. She's not willing to break the kiss in order to talk. She'd much rather let their actions talk for her.
In retrospect, she'll be embarrassed and she'll hate that she kissed him for the first time under these kind of circumstances. Right now, she's far too lost in kissing him.
no subject
He's so wrapped up in what they're doing that when Lydia's stupid Robodog starts barking excitedly, jumping to its feet and click-clacking loudly and quickly toward the door, it startles Cisco so badly that he pulls away from her to swear, heart racing.
"Damn dog…" he breathes. Then he catches a glimpse of a clock on the wall. "Oh, crap...what time do you have to be back to troubleshooting duty?" he asks, eyes widening a little as he looks back at her. Dios...if he gets her arrested, this'll be the first and last time they hook up. Not okay. ...not just because he wants this to be a more-often-than-this-once thing, obviously, but… He knows what he means, okay?
no subject
The dog barking makes Gracie start just a little, her heart racing from both the kissing and the high pitched interruption.
Honestly, without the dog, she'd probably spend the entire afternoon in here with Cisco. She's flustered for a moment, unable to answer his question. She blinks at him then twists to look over her shoulder at the clock. "Oh." Slowly it sinks in. "Oh! Uhm...five minutes ago. I should...I should go." It's obvious by her voice that she doesn't want to go. She reaches up, running her fingers through her hair, trying to smooth it down, trying to put it to rights. She scoots out of his lap and gets to her feet. "I--I'll see you later, right?" She doesn't want this to be a one time thing either. She knows what he means.
no subject
She says that she should've been back already and Cisco looks apologetic and, admittedly, a little worried. "You're not gonna get in trouble, are you? Shit, I feel bad, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you late, you know?" As much as she appears to be struggling with the idea of leaving, Cisco is feeling it. He doesn't want her to go. He doesn't want to go. He kind of, in fact, wishes time would just kind of stop for a little while, but alas.
"Yeah, yeah...don't get yourself into more trouble, you should go. I probably should, too. But yeah, absolutely," he promises. "I'll see you later, for sure. Definitely." Cisco offers her a smile. ...and tugs at the front of his jumpsuit again. "Sooner than later, hopefully," he adds.
no subject
She starts shaking her head as soon as he starts apologizing. "No. It's okay. Really, I'll tell them I was following a lead on something. I'll make it up. It'll be okay. Maybe I'll stay a little late this evening." She really doesn't want to go. Time stopping would be fantastic, but that's not happening so...
A smile breaks across her face when he says that he'll see her again. She does notice the jumpsuit tugging this time and it makes her cheeks flush, but she's also a little smug. It also makes it harder for her to leave, and yet..."Right. Sooner." She leans in to brush a quick, chaste kiss against his lips. "Have a good day, Cisco."
And then she's headed toward the door back to work and maybe she's skipping a little because she's happy. This has been the best day.
