Daycycle 112 [ October 16 - October 22 ]

daycycle 112

[Oct 16 - Oct 22]

[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

No Special Troubleshooters have been selected for a mission this morning.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Free Enterprise is pushing a new, adjusted street form of No Fear (Dynomorphin). The original pharmaceutical is meant for those in Ultraviolet ranks, but this form is much dirtier, cheaper and more addictive. In order to get people hooked, they've put a healthy dose in the wagon wheel's ORANGE and RED level coffee-like supplies. The drug causes a very bullet proof feeling of euphoria. Side effects include paranoia, hallucinations, increased sociability, increased sex drive, panic attacks, excited delirium - extreme agitation and violence, and the temporary loss of feeling in nerve endings (inability to feel pain). A standard dose lasts four hours. Withdrawal symptoms include nosebleeds, sweating, nausea, dehydration and blinding migraines. For those that want more of the drug, Free Enterprise will make it easily accessible.

At 1200, a squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Medical Services to escort Caitlin Snow away for suspected treason. Anyone asking for additional information will be told it's classified and warned not to continue asking questions. Approximately fifteen minutes later another squad of Grey Ops will arrive at Internal Security to lead Vision away. Anyone asking for additional information will be given the same party line.

At 1400 today, Jack Harkness will be summoned by Mind Control to the Production offices on the twenty fifth floor. There he will be offered a position in Media Production where he will assist with the Teela O'Malley show. This position will come with a clearance level promotion of ORANGE, since the talk show star doesn't associate with anyone of lower clearance level. Jack will be responsible for ramping up the excitement levels of the live audience and the personal entertainment of the star.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in Meeting Room G, Wagon Wheel Floor 24 and will be hosted by the Alpha Smiling Club. Join us tonight for refreshments and tips on faking it until you make it!

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

If Cisco notices Tony's distraction, he doesn't say so. Instead he just nods and smiles, glad to know that his friend is okay. "Yeah, I'm good. Little bit sore, still, but I'm hoping that'll fade sooner than later. Nowhere near as bad as I was yesterday," he replies as Tony squeezes his shoulder. Man, Tony's the best. Literally, in this whole place, if there was anyone Cisco had to nearly die with that wasn't Barry, he'd want it to be Tony. Not that he'd want Barry or Tony to almost die, but he's just saying. Tony's like having Harry around who doesn't get annoyed with him at every turn or call him Ramon.

It's hard not to notice the way that Tony is holding himself back from just having at the pile of stuff Cisco's working with; he knows that look, because he practically lived in it when he first started at STAR, before he was allowed to actually take on any cool projects. He smirks a little and looks over at his friend.

"This? This is going to be a freeze ray when I'm finished. You know, they have a lot of stuff here that didn't work for Dr. Palmer's nanotech but it works just fine for building a cold gun, if I do say so myself. I'm a little shy of functional; I need to build the triggering mechanism and then I can start testing but...not too bad for a quick prototype, if I do say so myself. I don't know how effective it'll be and I really don't know if it'll actually freeze things the way my old one did, but there's only one way to find out, huh?"

"Good, that's good. I'm glad you're feeling better than yesterday."

Because, seriously, yesterday had sucked. Not as much as the day before that, but still. Tony can imagine how miserable Cisco must have been while healing from the burns throughout his body, and the memory of it is a trigger alone for him to want to build things to blow shit up. Because, hell, don't they get to at least shoot back at something for what had happened?

The freeze ray gains his attention, and he all but perks up at the mention of a triggering mechanism. "Need a hand with the triggering mechanism?" A freeze ray won't necessarily blow shit up the way he wants to, but it's something and Tony is just more or less craving to use anything that can shoot things at this point. "It's been a minute since I made one, but it's like riding a bike, right? Shouldn't be too hard. I used to do these in my sleep."

Almost literally, too, considering how many times he worked on those when he was running on fumes.

It's hard for Cisco to miss the way his friend seems to perk up at the mere mention of a triggering mechanism. "I mean, I can do it but if you're better at that kind of thing," he points out. Triggering mechanisms are actually kind of tricky, in Cisco's experience. He's got a lot of experience making weapons, but the triggering mechanism tends to be one of his pet peeves. He can do it, but that doesn't mean he likes it. Mostly, because they're especially intricate, in his experience, and one little mistake can make the entire weapon completely unstable and unsafe for use. If Tony isn't irritated with the importance of that particular aspect, Cisco is all for him taking over there.

He hands the prototype to his friend and leans back on his hands. "I still need to get the actual chemical compound going in the chamber, so that it'll actually fire. Right now, it'd fire bullets if you wanted it to, but it's not particularly safe for use. Fix the triggering mechanism and it'll be safe for use but won't freeze anything yet."

Cisco pauses briefly and sighs. "I'm not great with chemistry, but back home I was able to take a compound a colleague created and make it self renewing, basically. Kind of like...it sort of tended to reimburse itself whenever spent, but would maintain if idle. I need to do that again here otherwise all that is is another random gun, but it's just a matter of getting my hands on a fully stocked chemical lab. ...you any good with that stuff? Barry is, but..."

His voice trails off. Barry is, but they've said they sent Barry on a mission at the surface. Given that Caitlin is suddenly gone, Cisco wonders if that's their Alpha Complex way of saying that they've sent him home.
