Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Death Leopard is back! After nearly having nearly all of it's members hunted down and exterminated after the parade fiasco a few months ago, new leadership has arisen within the secret society and has been secretly recruiting new members hellbent on destruction for destruction's sake. A large number of Death Leopard members work within the Armed Services divison and at approximately 1400 today, a large shipment of weapons will be stolen.

At 1500 Death Leopard members stationed throughout Alpha will cause utter chaos by careening through Alpha in stolen motor cars, blaring loud music and shooting up the place. For the most part, they are not aiming for people, but their goal is to accomplish as much property damage as possible and announce their return. They do not, however, have any qualms at shooting officials clearance level YELLOW or higher. They have several grenades that they will use throughout their reign of terror, tossing them at random store fronts and service firms.

All Troubleshooters will be called on to stop them by any means necessary.

It will later be discovered that during this show of blatant disregard for Alpha Citizen Life, two more shipments of weapons were stolen.

Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1700 in Meeting Room F, Wagon Wheel Floor 27 and will be hosted by the Volunteer Form Checkers. Help Alpha Complex by volunteering your time to check forms this evening as the scanners in the Housing, Planning & Development sector is down.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Mostly, Katniss would rather be dead. She'd rather be dead than try to puzzle any of this out. She'd rather be dead than live with these memories. The memories of her sister dying because of Katniss' actions. Or the memories of all the people she's killed. If she can't be dead, then she'd accept the memories being a mistake. She'd rather be anyone else but Katniss Everdeen. Dealing with her demons just seems too difficult.

Buffy appears as non-threatening as possible but Katniss still can't bring herself to trust the girl in front of her. There are people like that. People who save other people without expecting anything in return. Those people are rare though and Katniss has a hard time believing that the odds could actually be in her favor.

She nearly scowls at Buffy. Somehow she manages to stop herself mid-way. But her tone isn't entirely nice. "What do you want in return?"

At one point in her life, Buffy could understand that. Her circumstances had been very different from Katniss's, but the end result had been the same. Even in the days before she'd come here, years after her second death, Buffy had been hit with such a longing, such a desire to be finished when standing at the tops of tall buildings that sometimes she scared herself. She doesn't want the glitches to be fake. She needs those memories of the life she used to have to know who she is.

It's okay. Trust doesn't come easy in a situation like this. She remembers being fresh from Heaven, thinking that she'd dug her out of the ground into Hell. She hadn't trusted easily then either.

Buffy shrugs. "Maybe my boss will quit looking at me like I'm the worst employee ever?"

It's probably a good thing to know who you are. Based on the memories she's been given, she doesn't want to be Katniss Everdeen. She doesn't strike her as someone worth being, let alone worth knowing. She was never very nice. Never very good or very smart. She didn't know how to make friends, nor did she trust people all that much. She was selfish, constantly acting in a way that would best suit her interest. The only thing Katniss Everdeen seemed to be good at was killing. And losing everyone that ever mattered to her.

No, she doesn't want those memories. She doesn't want to be this girl currently in so much pain. But she doesn't know how else to be or to act given the glitch. She hates the computer for doing this. If it wants her to be a good, productive citizen, why give her such painful memories to cope with?

She gives Buffy a sidelong glance. "Do you really care that much?"

One of these days she's going to have to deal with it, but right now maybe she needs a little bit of a break. She needs some time to deal with what's happened to her and what's happening right now. Even if her glitches weren't so traumatic, she'd need time to adjust to this place.

Those are all really valid things to want and feel. Buffy doesn't know why they don't remove those memories or those glitches. Surely if they can bring them here they can change their memories or just remove them. Of course, Buffy doesn't want her memories taken away. It would be nice if they could have a choice.

She shrugs a little. "It's a fatal flaw. What's that called? A hurbert?" Hubris and she's wrong there too...

Katniss shrugs. Maybe if she actually cared to apply herself, she would have been better at school. And she would have been able to correct Buffy's mistake. As it is, whether Katniss actually knows the actual word (hubris) doesn't matter. It comes down to how little she actually cares about whether Buffy is right or wrong. Long story short? She doesn't.

Really, unless Buffy knows some way to help Katniss forget the glitched memories, there's probably not a lot she can say that she would care about.

It's okay. She's having a rough day and Buffy suspects she's struggling with some rough glitches. She doesn't really have to care right now (or ever, but that's another story).

Unfortunately, she doesn't. All she can do for Katniss there is try to focus on the idea that the glitches may not be real. Katniss seems to have lost most of her aggressiveness and some of her wariness so Buffy decides to try again.

"Maybe I could walk you to your room?"

It doesn't take Katniss all that long to think of an answer. Buffy's being polite, even kind. But Katniss doesn't want anything to do with kindness right now. She doesn't think that she deserves any kind of kindness. Not now, not ever. Not if those glitches are correct. Kindness isn't something girls like her deserve.

"I'll find it," she mutters with a shake of her head. "You don't have to bother."

Buffy is loathe to leave her alone, but she also understands that Katniss might want to process and absorb this day on her own. She nods a little. "Okay. You can catch me on the PDC if you get lost. Take care of yourself," she says as she starts to turn and walk the other way.

She'll be sure to check on Katniss later.
