Daycycle 108 [ September 18 - September 24 ]

daycycle 108

[Sept 18 - Sept 24]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Death Leopard is back! After nearly having nearly all of it's members hunted down and exterminated after the parade fiasco a few months ago, new leadership has arisen within the secret society and has been secretly recruiting new members hellbent on destruction for destruction's sake. A large number of Death Leopard members work within the Armed Services divison and at approximately 1400 today, a large shipment of weapons will be stolen.

At 1500 Death Leopard members stationed throughout Alpha will cause utter chaos by careening through Alpha in stolen motor cars, blaring loud music and shooting up the place. For the most part, they are not aiming for people, but their goal is to accomplish as much property damage as possible and announce their return. They do not, however, have any qualms at shooting officials clearance level YELLOW or higher. They have several grenades that they will use throughout their reign of terror, tossing them at random store fronts and service firms.

All Troubleshooters will be called on to stop them by any means necessary.

It will later be discovered that during this show of blatant disregard for Alpha Citizen Life, two more shipments of weapons were stolen.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1700 in Meeting Room F, Wagon Wheel Floor 27 and will be hosted by the Volunteer Form Checkers. Help Alpha Complex by volunteering your time to check forms this evening as the scanners in the Housing, Planning & Development sector is down.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

The quiet reply isn't something that Allison takes personally. She would even offer to leave her alone, if it wasn't for the fact that she technically doesn't have any other place to go to. Part of her wants to find her way to Lydia's room and sleep there - not because of the other brunette, but because Lydia is a piece of home and that's all she's craving right now - but she figures that's probably out of the question.

So, she stays in the room. She just moves to her bed, and sits at the edge of it, staying quiet for a moment while looking off at another section of the room so that she's not actively staring at the other girl.

If they're going to be roommates, though, she should at least introduce herself, so she glances over at her again. "I'm Allison. We don't really have to talk if you don't want to," she adds, as if to assure her that she doesn't need to know her name in return. "But if you need anything, just let me know, alright?"

She means it, too, and her lips inch slightly upwards into a small smile before she moves to lay down.

She's tried looking for another place to go. But here she doesn't seem to have much of a choice about where she gets to go. They don't seem to ignore her like they did in District 13. She's supposed to actually do things. She's supposed to return to her room at night. Since arriving, she hasn't had much of a choice about following curfew. The rest though? So far, Katniss has been good at being as uncooperative as possible.

The girl keeps talking and it's tempting to remain uncooperative. Not to say anything and just continue rocking herself back and forth against the wall. Katniss has, at least, stopped mumbling to herself aloud. That attracts too much attention. Being quiet is better. It doesn't seem to stop her roommates from trying to talk to her though.

She stares at the other brunette, not bothering to hide that she's doing so. She's trying to get a sense of age - something around her own seventeen years? And more importantly, a sense of any kind of threat that she might provide. Although Katniss often tells herself she shouldn't be alive, if she does chose death, she wants it to be on her own terms.

She remains quiet a little while longer, long enough for Allison to lay down on the bed, before she does offer something: "Katniss. That's what the glitches say. Katniss Everdeen."

The stare doesn't really bother her; Allison just stays quiet, as if allowing her to guide how she wants to handle the situation. If she wants to talk, great. Allison would be more than happy to talk. If she doesn't, she also understands that and she would let her be. When it looks like silence is the course of action to follow, Allison does move to lay down although she can't quite bring herself to get comfortable. Her mind is still racing with everything that has happened today, and she doesn't even know where to start.

The voice coming from the other bed pulls her out of her thoughts, though, and she looks over at her. "Hi, Katniss. Are you... Did you just get here today?"

Okay, maybe one question won't hurt? But, if Katniss decides that she's done speaking, Allison will respect that, too.

She's been told about the sleeping gas that'll eventually be released through the air ducts to force RED-clearance citizens to sleep. Yet Katniss doesn't move into a more comfortable position. She continues to sit with her back to the wall and knees pulled up to her chest. If she's eventually forced to go to sleep, she'll survive. It's entirely possible, if memories are to be believed, that she's slept in worse positions and worse places.

One more question doesn't hurt. She notices Allison looking in her direction again and nods in response to the question. "You?"

The fact that she answers makes Allison's lips quirk slightly upwards as she answers. "Yeah, me too. Today was my first day."

Tomorrow she's expected to report to her new job, which is both intriguing and causing her dread all at once. Of course, the intrigue will win, but there's a lot of unknowns here that she has yet to figure out. She'll roll with them, because that's just what she does, but that feeling of being new somewhere else still causes her insides to tighten uncomfortably.

"...if you ever want to explore this place, to get to know it a little better, let me know. It might help, you know? To get to know more about it, I mean."

Even though Katniss can't see the small grin, she think that she might hear it in Allison's voice. That relief of knowing that you're not alone. They're not the only citizens in Alpha Complex but almost everyone she's encountered today has been here a lot longer than she has. It frustrates Katniss not to know as much as everyone else.

She's not alone though. There's someone else here who knows as little as she does. It should be more comforting than it actually is. Being new is uncomfortable. But remembering the way her supposed sister died is even worse. It's way too consuming and it keeps distracting her from everything that she should be doing. Like answering Allison's question.

Instead, she asks one of her own: "Are your glitches awful, too?"

Katniss isn't the only one that feels frustrated at being the new kid on campus. Allison is all too familiar with that sensation, considering how many times she moved throughout her life, but she's trying to just go along with it with as much patience as she can. After all, this is her first day here and there was no way for her to go home. Even if there was, she wouldn't be able to go back considering what happened, so she had plenty of time to figure things out.

Her question makes her glance over, not in surprise, just in...understanding, mostly.

"Yeah," she admits after a brief moment. "They're not all terrible, but my last m... 'glitch' is a pretty dark one." The almost-slip is covered as quickly as she can, the word 'memory' lingering in her lips, but she switches it as quickly as she can. "Are yours pretty vivid, too?"

Katniss had never moved. She had never even left District 12 before the 74th Hunger Games. Though there are ways in which the Alpha Complex seems reminiscent of District 13, it clearly isn't. It's not like the Capitol or any of the Districts she visited on the Victory Tour. But the hardest part is that, should the glitches be true, she doesn't have a home to return to. District 12 had been burnt to the ground. Because of her. And Prim had been killed.

What would the point be in returning to Panem anyway?

Glitch is a much safer word not because of the Computer but because it still provides a layer of separation from the memories she doesn't want. Katniss nods. "Yeah."
