Daycycle 105 [ August 28 - September 03]

daycycle 105

[Aug 28 - Sept 3]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
Felicity Smoak and Natasha Romanoff, have been selected for today’s mission. Details are below:

‘In order to help us improve our combat simulators, you will need to run through any combat situation you encounter at least three times. On the second pass through, engage the combat at a greater range than originally. On the third pass through, attempt it at a much closer range. You will provide tactical notes to our staff afterwards. If the simulators catch fire, or fail to respond to override commands... note that too. The eggheads were supposed to have fixed that.’

Please debrief the computer on the status of your mission by the end of the Daycycle here.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1700 in Hangar 15, Armed Forces Sector and will be hosted by the Alpha Complex Dogeball Association. Join us for a game of Alpha Dodgeball! All clearance levels above INFRARED welcome.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

"Have they?" Oliver said, deliberately avoiding saying anything that misconstrued. If Barry were right, he could do anything he wanted, but he hadn't said anything about their voices being overheard. He tapped his mouth and ears. Just because there weren't things here that could see you, it didn't mean that there weren't things that could hear you and he wanted to be absolutely sure before he started asking the kind of questions he needed to.

"Yeah," Barry said, surprised that Oliver doubted him, at least until he went on to tap his mouth and ears. Barry's eyes widened in understanding and he gave him a nod. "It's safe. We have someone who has disabled monitoring in places around the complex."

He nodded towards the two dots on the wall. "He's marked the areas that are safe."

Oliver was torn between asking any number of questions, but there was one question that was topmost in priority. "How safe is she in one of these missions?" He was preparing himself for any number of answers. He wanted it to be completely safe, but he was suspecting otherwise. Any place that had cameras everywhere was suspicious and one that had cameras that had been circumvented was dangerous.

"I don't suppose there's any way to get her out of them? Volunteer in her place?" He was sure that she hadn't signed up for it, which meant that these missions were mandatory and either assigned randomly or predetermined.

He had other questions, too. So many questions. Who was 'he', were they where the computer said they were, if they weren't, what was being done to get them out. He wasn't sure what to ask if they were where they were told they were. It was a novel situation and one he would only face when he had to face it. He preferred having some kind of hope.

Barry swallowed and shifted on his feet, before drawing himself up and crossing his arms. Oliver wanted the truth, the least he could do was give it to him.

"Not very safe," he admitted, the corners of his mouth turning downwards. "Troubleshooters are Alpha's police force, but they are also seen as expendable by the Computer. Missions are often not great or logical. They're pretty dangerous."

He knew this was the last thing Oliver needed to hear, but he also deserved to hear the truth. "The assignments come directly from Internal Security. As far as I know, no one has been able to volunteer in someone else's place. If we tried to get her out of it, we'd get all of us accused of treason."

"I can try to ask the other specials to keep an eye out for her." He reaches out and puts a hand on Oliver's shoulder. "She'll be okay, Oliver."

He's not sure if he's saying it more for him or for himself.

"She will be," was all Oliver was willing to allow. He was absolutely going to find her himself and make sure he was okay and, in the meantime, he was going to be crawling out of his skin. Maybe whatever they had him doing would be enough to distract him or at least to sublimate some of the anger issues he had over her being thrust into that situation.

He took a breath. But, barring going out there and tracking her down immediately, there was nothing he could do at the moment. And there were other questions he had for Barry.

Like, "What do you think about the possibility of what we were told being true? Not about the memories. I'm not sure I'd believe you if you said that, but about the clones? Because before I got here, there was this underground bunker, but it looked like your typical suburban neighborhood, complete with artificial sky and sun. Could they have done that here?"

Maybe they'd all been kidnapped. It'd be easier to digest and, truthfully, more of a comfort because it meant they'd have people looking for them.

Barry nods in agreement, taking some comfort from the fact that Oliver is so adamant about it. Of course she will be. Felicity is... one of the smartest people he knows. She's held her own on Team Arrow for the last two years. She'd be fine.

"If you'd asked me before I woke up here, I'd say no way," Barry says, letting his hand drop back to his side and frowning back at Oliver. "But I've seen them bring someone back that shouldn't have been able to come back." Considering Oliver was worried enough about Felicity he decided not to mention that it had been Ray.

He shook his head. "I don't know. But I know the memories being a glitch is a lie."
