Daycycle 104 [ August 21-27 ]

daycycle 104

[Aug 21 - Aug 27]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

At approximately 1400 today all power within the Wagon Wheel will shut down as part of a Nameless Secret Society Demonstration. The backup generators will be disabled. All citizens within the Wagon Wheel at that time will be stuck. Locked doors will remain locked. Elevators will stop. Lights will go out. Many opportunists will use this to create pure chaos. This demonstration will go on for the next five hours.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 2000 in Meeting Room B, Wagon Wheel Floor 25 and will be hosted by the Spontaneous Loyaly Demonstration Organizers. Learn how to put on a spontaneous demonstration in order to show your loyalty to the computer and Alpha Complex in an effective and memorable way.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

That soft little plea that she detects hiding in plain sight is only adding fuel to the fire. If she thought she could get away with it without overstaying her welcome, Lydia would be in his room every single night. She thinks, for the moment, it's probably best to work toward that and make sure it's actually okay with Matt, but maybe every couple of nights to start wouldn't be the worst thing in the world...

"I think so too, baby," she breathes, her own tone a slightly higher-pitched mirror of Matt's. Lydia lets out a soft breath that has just the slightest hint of a moan on the back end of it when she feels him begin to explore her exposed skin for the first time. After a moment, Lydia shrugs the top half of the jumpsuit off entirely, paying it no mind as it pools around her waist, and she guides his hands around her back to unclasp her bra. As much as she knows Matt could probably find it himself with little trouble, she's aching for a more full skin on skin contact that they've been missing this whole time and she figures guiding him could...well...hurry things along a little.

Her fingers move to the buttons of his jumpsuit next, because this should absolutely be reciprocal, she thinks, and she's been dying for them to be able to touch one another for what feels like forever. Finally, they've got the privacy to do it and if they only have an hour, she's not going to waste it.

He smiles a little, although it's a tired one, when she murmurs her little joke. The fact that he understands the reference is confusing, because he's pretty sure that they don't have Jeopardy here. His brow creases a little and the smile fades with it at the thought. "At least with a salad spinner, it'd just be shaking off excess and it wouldn't all be a mush," he mutters, frowning.

Derek turns on his side and looks back at her. "I feel like...wrong. And I got that joke, just now, but that's not a thing here. It's little shit like that. Little things I feel and I remember that don't...mesh. Does that feeling ever go away? Because I gotta tell you, I could really do without it."

He's testing the waters here without divulging details because, at best, she'll probably think he's crazy and, at worst, she'll turn him in for treason and he'll have to watch that stupid orientation over and over all over again. He'd really, really like to avoid that.

Technical Services Section - Orientation for Oliver

[personal profile] a_man_out_of_time 2016-08-28 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
It was his second time back this evening, but Steve didn't mind. He knows that different people often took a different amount of time coming out of orientation.

Technical Services had pinged him on his PDC just a few minutes ago that a new clone was about to sign his paperwork. He'd rushed over from the Wagon Wheel immediately.

For some reason, he's expecting another woman, probably because he'd just spent a good chunk of time with Izzy. But instead, when the doors open and the new arrival is guided towards the GREEN bureaucrat with all his Troubleshooter equipment, Steve sees a very strong-looking man.

He gives him a polite nod from across the room. Whenever he's done signing, Oliver should be directed to come towards Steve.

"Are you okay?" He's trying to let his eyes adjust to the darkness, but the lab is pitch black and he doesn't remember the layout well enough not to walk straight into another table.

He tries to feel his way towards the main door, the muffled sounds of shouting and possibly fighting outside the door. Suddenly a bright light flashes through the darkness and he can see Lydia holding up her PDC. He sighs in relief and moves towards her. His own PDC is where he left it on the table next to her.

"I thought it was ASS again."

He wasn't real. At least not as he believed himself to be. Right. Maybe he was having memory issues when it came to how he'd gotten here, but there were other things he specifically remembered. Like how to toe the line and pretend he was just another soldier while working from within to sow the seeds of rebellion. So he made all the right faces and said all the right things and signed at the dotted line and then turned to study his first real test.

A person.

Oliver had never been a true soldier. The unit he'd masqueraded in had been nothing more than barely civilized brutes. But he could recognize one when he saw one and that's what he saw here. Discipline. Maybe that meant a sense of justice, but it could as easily mean someone who followed the party line. Who only followed orders.

He slid into his Oliver persona and offered the man a wry smile and a hand. "Oliver Queen. I think."

"Yeah, I'm fine, I walked into a stool," she replies, frowning and reaching down with her free hand to rub the sore spot as the leans against the table. Relief floods through her when she actually sees Barry, though. Hearing him was nice, but seeing him is better. It makes her feel a little less tense.

With a humorless laugh, Lydia rolls her eyes. "I wonder if they have any idea how completely ridiculous that acronym makes them sound," she mutters, as she's typing. "Felicity's posting," she explains. "...I think we should blow our way out of here. If it is ASS, what's to say that they can't hack the door locks and then we're trapped...?"

She looks up at him then, her eyebrows lifted with question. What does Barry think? Stay put or get out?

Matt is used to a little more alone time than that. He's used to sleeping alone and he's never been one to stay over and cuddle. However, he genuinely cares about Lydia and is interested in a relationship with her. Working toward living together is probably a very good idea. They can make those sorts of steps and stages of a relationship together and in a sort of normal way.

That growl in Lydia's voice ratchets Matt's desire up even higher as does that exhalation and the way her skin feels underneath his hands. He doesn't mind the way she guides his hands around to the clasp on her bra. Not only is it a confirmation of how much she wants this, it's also permission. He undoes the clasp deftly, sliding the straps down her arms and dipping his head to string kisses along newly exposed skin.

Reciprocal is a very good thing. It doesn't occur to him to warn her that his body is covered in scars. Most notably are the across his chest and on his back, but his torso and arms are littered with small scars. There's another long, curving scar across his ribs and something that's obviously a bullet wound to his left shoulder. He's also not thinking of how to explain them. He's never really had to for reasons that don't need to be discussed.

Yeah. She'd had a little confusion about that as well. She thought it was a point in the favor of not glitches. "See, it's progress, though I think your brain would be a little scattered if you put it in the Salad Spinner. Pretty accurate petafore if you ask me." She means analogy and is going for metaphor which obviously comes out petafore.

She gives him a sympathetic look. She tucks her arm under her head. "Yeah. They keep telling us that they're glitches but..." she shakes her head. "I remember things that can't be glitches. They're too...real." She sighs a little. "I think it just gets less confusing." She presses her lips together a moment. "I'm guessing they gave the the suck expansion in the glitch program?"

His lips on new parts of her skin where Lydia's never felt them — even if it's just on her shoulders and upper chest at the moment as she works his jumpsuit's buttons — has her breath hitching and her hips rocking harder against him in search of friction that she's a little too impatient to wait for. She rests her cheek against the side of his head as he kisses her and her eyes flutter shut as she finishes unbuttoning his jumpsuit with quick fingers.

Lydia pushes the top of it off his shoulders and down his arms, her hands moving to his chest and, while she feels scar tissue under her fingers, Lydia doesn't register any alarm or aversion to them. She runs with wolves. They heal a lot faster than people do, but she has seen some of them injured more gravely than the injuries that probably caused the scars on Matt. She barely registers them there. He knows how to fight; he's been teaching her. She just assumes they have some connection to that and if he wants her to know the stories behind them, he'll tell her. If he doesn't, then she won't ask and doesn't mind being in the dark.

Abruptly, Lydia takes his face in her hands and lifts his head so that she can get off his lap, shimmying out of the jumpsuit entirely, leaving only the last piece of undergarment in the way. She loves her body; she wishes that he could see it, because she's proud of it, if she's being entirely honest with herself. The fact is that he can't see with his eyes, but he can see with his hands, she knows that much. Bonus points for the fact that she'll enjoy the way it feels while he's "looking" at her.

Lydia lowers herself down onto his lap again, taking his hands and moving them to her bared hips. "I want you to see me, Matt..." she whispers, ducking her head so that her lips brush against his ear when she does. To help clarify that she doesn't mean that wistfully like she wishes he wasn't blind, and that she means it literally in the way he "saw" her face so many weeks ago, she moves his hands up her waist a little ways before letting her hands fall away from his so that he can do it on his own.

Blue hasn't exactly decided how she feels about sharing a room with a boy. That should be something she's used to by now. For the last month, she's been travelling around the southern U.S. with two boys. She spent almost every waking and sleeping hour with them. But there's an exception in Blue's heart for her raven boys. Especially for her boyfriend.

This boy, the one she's been assigned to room with, isn't one of them. She hasn't talked to him much even though he looks approachable. Sulking is very unbecoming of her but she hasn't quite been able to help herself.

She looks up when the door opens, in the middle of putting fashionable rips in her jumpsuit. Blue misses her skirts and her jeans, all the clothing that she's made her own. She offers a tentative grin. "Hey."

His eyebrows lift a little at the word petafore because he's pretty sure the word she wants is actually metaphor, but he's kind of too exhausted and spent from a long day to be bothered correcting her. He knows what she means. That's good enough.

Though, when she says she doesn't buy the "glitches" thing, that's when Buffy's got Derek's full and undivided attention. He shifts a little, his body language clearly showing that he's interested in what she's saying, because he is.

"Yeah, but the stuff in mine was like...not possible," he says awkwardly. "I mean, I...I don't know. Mutant stuff. But yeah, I get that, that they felt real. Mine did, too. And weirdly specific," he replies.

"Hey," Cisco greets in return. He always kind of thought that when he lived with a girl for the first time, it would either be because they were in a committed relationship or would amount to a lot of shenanigans — sexual, silly, and sciencey; preferably in that order — but as it turns out, that's not happening. At all. Which is fine, because he doesn't know Blue and it's not like he's some filthy fiend or anything. Just...you know, now what he'd imagined in his head. It's cool though, she seems all right.

Cisco makes his way into the room, closing the door behind himself, and he drops down onto the bed. "This place is exhausting, I swear to God," he groans. At least he has a decent amount of sleep under his belt this time, which is more than he can say for the night before. This is much better. Which isn't saying much, but still. "It's like if you're not physically exhausted they just find a way to make you bored as hell until you feel more tired than you have any right to be, you know? I mean, right?"

Using the light from Lydia's PDC, Barry navigates his way through the tables to his own PDC where he left it on the table beside her. There's a loud bang that echoes down the hallway beyond and his eyes snap to the door.

"Better to be able to run if we need to," he agrees, picking up his phone and moving to the shelves of chemicals where he starts pulling down the most explosive of them. The door isn't particularly heavy, but they need a big enough charge to work through the hinges.

He sets the ingredients down on the table beside Lydia, noting that Felicity's sent him and Cisco a private message. He pauses to type back, a look of concern crossing his face. He doesn't like the idea of Cisco exploring Armed Forces on his own, but Felicity is right, this might be their only chance without IntSec surveillance.

"Oliver, it's nice to meet you," he says. The handshake is both short and firm and he tips his head a little, almost like someone lifts their hat in respect when they're meeting someone new.

"Steve Rogers. And you must have a lot of questions. I certainly did when I came out of that room," he glances for just a second behind Oliver, towards those pristine, white doors. Steve had spent a lot longer in there than Oliver had, refusing to believe the video. "I'm here to answer the ones I can, and to show you around the Complex, if you'd like."

With that, he makes a gestures towards the large double doors behind him.

What is distinctive about Steve however, is that despite his GREEN uniform, he acts and speaks nothing like the GREEN or VIOLET clearance level citizens Oliver had interacted with thus far. He's not prickly or bored or matter-of-fact. It could certainly be fake, but it actually seems like Steve is honestly trying to be helpful.

The sound of a loud bang, Lydia whirls in place to look toward the source. That was louder than the last one, which Lydia thinks means that it's closer...which is not good. At all.

She can't help feeling more than a little relieved when Barry's on the same side of her argument and Lydia nods as he starts gathering ingredients and bringing them to the table. She's off finding her own, as well. "Do you think if we just contain an acetone peroxide and attach it to the hinges, that would work, or do you think that's too weak?" she asks, curious whether he thinks that'll do it or if they're going to have to go bigger.

Neck, shoulders, collarbone and her upper chest. Eventually his lips trail down to the swell of her breasts, that soft, wonderful place between her breasts, his lips and his breath tickling at her skin. It's distracting and so incredibly amazing the way she rocks harder against him.

Her fingers slide across his skin, pulling a groan from his lips. One of these days he will tell her, but right now how he got his scars are the furthest thing from his mind.

At first, there's a look of confusion on Matt's face as she slips off his lap, but he hears the swish of fabric and realizes what she's doing. That's when his expression becomes one of desire and hunger. He wishes that he could see her as well. He's only got the vaguest idea of what her body might look like and that's not nearly enough.

His breath catches when Lydia returns to his lap and puts his hands on her hips. At first, he's struck a bit speechless by her verbal request. He can't see her, obviously. Not that way at least. When she clarifies by sliding his hands up her waist, he relaxes, sliding his hands back down to her hips, thumbs gliding over her hipbones then moving his hands up her waist slowly, fingertips grazing her ribs.

And now was the time to navigate the shaky ground he'd been given. He had to give the shadow of doubt to his words without ever actually saying or even implying he was saying something that would be disapproved of. If this man, if Steve, was looking for it, he would recognize at least something in the words that Oliver wasn't saying. If he didn't, then it would just be a normal conversation from a confused and potentially scared new recruit.

"A tour, yes," he agreed. "I'd like to be able to navigate without accidentally finding myself some place I shouldn't be." No, if he found himself some place he shouldn't be, it would be because it was just where he intended on being. But it would be good to see where the lines were drawn and he would keep his eyes peeled for the security systems.

Of course, it did mean that he wouldn't be able to use the excuse that he hadn't known where he was.

"I suppose my first question is how likely it'll be that I find someone I--" There wasn't quite a pause between the words, or even a hesitation, but there was the smallest emphasis on the next word. "--Think I know."

This was going to be exhausting. He was much better at running in and shooting at something until it was dead. That was how he usually solved problems.

Soft, barely audible moans are escaping Lydia as he kisses her. It's been too long since she's been with a man. Aiden counts, she supposes, but he died almost a year ago now. Or maybe more; it's hard to keep track. He's the last person she's slept with and the last person who touched or kissed her the way Matt is. It takes a conscious effort to push that thought — and the guilt that seems to be inexplicably attaching itself to that thought — out of her mind to focus on Matt, but she manages it.

At first, when she tells him what she wants, she isn't sure he's understood her. He seems to get it a moment after and her eyes slip shut so that she can focus on the tactile sensation of Matt's hands moving over her bare skin.

Lydia lets out a soft breath as his fingertips ghost over her ribs and her eyes open again, although they're hooded with desire and need. Lydia's own hands are moving on his chest again, sliding down his torso and teasing at his waist if only because she can't really get it any lower with the position that they're in and the fact that his jumpsuit is still on. "It's better without the too-big jumpsuit in the way," she says quietly, although she does have to give credit where it's due: the GREEN one fits a lot more nicely than her RED and ORANGE ones did and do. It's not fitted, but it's closer. "I thought maybe you could get a better idea with it off," she adds, a playful lilt slipping into her raspy voice.

Of all the things he thought she'd ask about, the night club wouldn't have been Steve's first guess. Though, maybe it should have been. It was the only place he brought up that wasn't some sector or another.

But when she asks whether or not he's big on dancing, Steve gives her a slightly embarrassed smile and glances away for a second before answering. "I uh," A breathy laugh as he looks back at her. "I don't know how to dance."

The entire tone of this orientation, really, was starting to turn towards the embarrassing. It's not that Steve had forgotten about the posters — that was nearly impossible to do given how they were plastered everywhere in the SubSectors. He'd just unfortunately forgotten that of course, new arrivals have never seen them before.

"That happened two days ago," he says, walking back towards where Izzy stopped. If his face was at all red, Steve's hoping that the fake nighttime lighting would help him hide it. "And ... there are so many other posters to see." He gestures up towards the wall, at the the 49 other eligible bachelor's on display. There could have been a chance right, that she wouldn't have noticed his?

"That's a good instinct," he says. "Though, the Complex also prevents you from going anywhere you don't have clearance for."

When they're out the door of the cloning services, Oliver will notice that the landscape doesn't change much, and they haven't actual gone outdoors. Instead, they're in a large, septic white complex. "Where we currently are, it's called the Technical Services Section," Steve says. "You probably won't come back here unless you're assigned to work here."

When Oliver asks his first question, Steve wants to tell him that his memories are most probably real, but he can't. Not here, while they're still under surveillance. He'll bring it up when they get to the Wagon Wheel.

"Not very likely, though it does happen." It was an unexpected question, actually, and Steve is curious as to why Oliver would ask something like that. "So far, there's only one or two dozen of us here. Everyone else was born and raised in the Alpha Complex. Are you ... expecting someone to be here?"

Izzy's always been someone that has enjoyred the fun things in life. Of course, the list of what she considers fun probably differs from most others. She's pretty sure solving mysteries in the form of autopsies and the extended tests don't fall in the category for most. And maybe fun isn't the right word, but it's what she's good at. She's always been more than willing to be the frivolous one, the distraction, when the time comes and one is needed, though. So, knowing this place even has a nightclub....that's pretty big for her.

That is, if the nightclub actually lives up to the image that is invoked by the word. Everything else ,so far, in this place has fallen just a tad short of the real thing. Plus, the whole glitch thing has just made everything completely confusing.

Either way, Izzy can't help herself. She's majorly in need of lightening things up a little bit, of not strangling that part of herself that loves heels, smiling, social interactions, and all of that. And it's impossible for the young woman to actually shut her training, and her habits off. So, she can't help the smile that she gives Steve. "Well, if you ever decide you want to learn how to dance I'm sure I could help you out there. It's not hard, I promise." Izzy offers, definitely unable to help but notice his embarrassment.

It reminds her of Alec, of her brother. He'd be embarrassed too, by the dancing thing and by the bachelor thing. It makes Izzy miss him more. That's got to be real; she can't help but focus on that fact. Something that she feels so sure about, like the existence of her brother, has to be real. And if that's real....then a whole lot else should be, considering the fact that he's connected with everything else that Izzy remembers (for the most part, anyway).

Brothers, memories, and glitches aside, though, Izzy stands by the poster. It was impossible for her not to zero in on details; that was sort of her job, her jam. So, she looked back and forth between the man in person and the man on the poster, that smile still in place. "I'm good at spotting details, Steve. And you're one of the few familiar faces." Izzy reaches up, tapping the poster lightly with her sadly un-manicured finger. "I couldn't help but notice you....I think you deserved to go a little lower on the list, though, personally." Izzy offers, noticing a few of the other faces weren't quite as attractive, at least in her opinion, before she drops her hand and turns toward her current companion.

"So, two days and you're still getting used to all of this, then?" Izzy jerks her head toward the wall, to make it obvious what she's talking about. It's much easier to focus on this than it is the crap in her head. That's for damn sure.

"I..." He looks down and then back up, smiling. "...will be sure to let you know Izzy. Though, fair warning. Someone has been trying to teach me for awhile now, and I still haven't gone out dancing."

He watches her tap her fingers on the poster, a little anxious for what she's going to say after 'I couldn't help by notice', until she tells him he should have been ranked higher and he laughs again.

"Come on, let me show you the Wagon Wheel. It'll be worth it, I promise." He nods back towards the direction they were headed. Izzy seemed like a genuinely nice person and the sooner they get to the Wagon Wheel, the more certain Steve will be of the status of each of the cameras and listening devices, and the more able he'll be to say things directly.

But they still have a good chunk of walking to do before they get there. And after a minute or two, he looks over at Izzy. His complexion has recovered from any previous rosy glows. "That picture of me. I keep wondering when they could have taken it and I can't even remember."

For the first time in this place, Izzy's grin grows to something near it's full-force. All thanks to Steve and the silly subject of dancing. She can't help it. A good challenge, plus dancing, plus an adorable guy to push into doing things....just like she used to with her brother....it's a nice reminder of who she actually is, and the way that she deals with things. "I think that I'm up for the challenge, personally. And I'm all too happy to team up, afterall, teamwork makes the dream work."

Izzy just barely holds in the laugh that wants to bubble up as that actually comes out of her mouth. Alec would have leveled her with one of his famous 'you're ridiculous' glares. Jace probably would have been tempted to laugh. Even thinking about her brothers wasn't going to drag Izzy back down.

She was the most adaptable, and the best at fitting in wherever she needed to, of the Lightwood children.

"Well, if you promise then I won't drag my feet. Even in these boots." Izzy jokes, moving to head in the direction that Steve nods. He seems like a good, genuine guy. His embarrassment at being pointed out for his 'fame' was just adorable. So, it was hard not to like the guy...even in a mood. Izzy could understand why he'd been chosen, or allowed, whichever it was...to greet people. Izzy was already feeling slightly better.

Quiet, the petite woman takes in her surroundings, not seeing much of anything that feels familiar, but....she never expected to either. She doesn't see anything, though, no runes...no demons, nothing. Even though it's stupid, she feels a bit of disappointment that she knows she can't focus on. Steve's words break her from her subdued state (though the smile had yet to melt away) and Izzy can't help the laugh that escapes now. "Someone is, apparently, very good at snapping candids in just the right moment, when you're not paying attention." Izzy shrugs, not sure that her guess is what actually happened, but it seems the most likely out of everything.

That was good to know, although Oliver assumed there were probably ways around that. It would depend on how tight the security really was. Whether there were cameras everywhere, microphones everywhere, people informing on other citizens. Really, he would believe just about everything at the moment. Or rather, he was expecting everything and waiting for certain things to be proven right or wrong.

He shook his head at Steve's question. "No. I just prefer to be prepared for any eventuality." So it was possible he'd see someone he knew, but not probable. That was equal parts good and disappointing. While he didn't want his friends and family here, he did want people to trust and if he didn't have them by nature of knowing them already, he was going to have to be even more cautious at first.

This man, for instance. He radiated good. That could mean a lot of things. It could mean that he followed the party line and did what he was told and was a good soldier. Or it could mean that he was more like Ray, a good heart who believed in doing the right thing. The former could be used and the latter could be recruited.

"And if they don't know me, I don't want to startle them with sudden recognition." He'd been looking back and forth from Steve to where they were going, so it wasn't suspicious when he looked back at Steve to gauge his reaction.

Adam can feel Ronan's eyes on him, only because it's Ronan, only because Ronan watches him with such intensity sometimes that there's no way Adam can not feel it. This is one of those times, even in the mostly darkness, that Adam can feel Ronan watching him.

He returns the favor when Ronan delights in destroying the interior of the comm panel. He'd known Ronan would enjoy that. Of course he'd known. Watching it in the moment is actually kind of fun. Adam usually lives out his own pent up aggression through Ronan. In this way, they work very well together.

At the same time, Adam's still trying to remember everything he'd seen inside before it was destroyed. He has a better idea of the wiring and circuitry that's in the comm panels now. That's something, right? He's going to try to sketch it later.

"What else?" He asks.
