daycycle 102
[Aug 7 - Aug 13]
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.
At 1200 today, a list of high-ranking non-registered mutants will be released to the public. These officials will scramble to account for their tardiness in registering to the Computer and will shortly after be assigned Troubleshooters as body guards against retaliating Anti-Mutant members. All assigned troubleshooters are to keep their charges alive until shift change at 0700 on Day 103, using whatever means necessary. Permission temporarily granted to travel to restricted areas within the clearance level of their charge. Both bodyguards should be present at all times with few exceptions.
Barry Allen & Jillian Holtzmann - Otto Vaska, Stasis - can suspend time briefly, INDIGO, Central Processing
Steve Rogers & Parker - Xeno Fane, Charm - can make people like them, BLUE, Production, Logistics & Commissary
Blue Sargent & Morgana - Priskilla Linos, Polymorphism - can shapeshift, BLUE, Housing, Planning & Development
Cisco Ramon & Stiles Stilinski - Gabi Aline, Adrenaline Control - can control adrenaline levels in others, BLUE, Technical Services
Root & Tony Stark - Sol Sisel, Desolidity - can walk through walls, INDIGO, Research & Development
[ Player note: Characters may notice that any mutant abilities they once possessed may have a very weak showing when in close proximity to Alpha mutants. Mission success or failure is up to the players.]
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in the Commissary and will be hosted by the Alpha Chess Club. Come participate in the biggest (and only) Chess Tournament sanctioned by the Computer.
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Stiles it not a hot girl. Son of a...
Clearing his throat, Cisco pushes himself upright from having been leaning against a wall and he smiles, holding a hand out to shake. "That's me. I take it you're Stiles." It doesn't escape Cisco's notice that they're both wearing RED. Great, he can't even knock the guy out and steal his jumpsuit for easier access to the parts of the building he'd like to sneak into while they're in a restricted area. Come on, Friend Computer, don't you trust Cisco?
"Is it normal to be assigned a mission on like...day two around here? I'm still trying to get acclimated, I don't know where pretty much anything is, man, so my apologies ahead of time but I'm probably gonna lean pretty hard on you for that stuff. Hope that's cool," he says. If only he knew that Stiles is even newer than he is, which is saying a lot considering he just got out of
indoctrinationorientation yesterday.no subject
He gets a sinking feeling as Cisco continues on, two days isn't much to explore this place. And if he thinks Stiles would be any better at this than he is... they are so screwed.
"Oh my god, don't count on me. I pretty much just got here," he says, wincing. "How much are we going to have to depend on Aline herself?" Who still hasn't come down yet. Maybe they have to go find her.
"The place is run by the Computer, right? I think it just might expect us to know what we're supposed to - the same way it does." With instant access to the right, non-restricted information. It's reminding him strongly of GLADOS, if only because it seems to be playing around with the new clones, using these missions as an aptitude test, for it to determine how best to integrate them. "Or we just happen to be available."
Both options being best case scenarios.
no subject
He looks a little surprised that Stiles is just as new as he is and he can't help himself. "Well, dang. Talk about inefficient Troubleshooter selection," he says, only half-joking. "I guess we're kinda going to have to depend on her a lot... Are we supposed to like...go find her or...what's the deal, here?" he asks.
Nodding to Stiles's question, Cisco starts to look around for cameras. He doesn't see any in this particular area, at least not that are pointed in this direction. "I'd be willing to bet it's a little of both," he says, frowning.
Before he can suggest that maybe they ought to start...going somewhere, he sees someone approaching in a BLUE jumpsuit. "Think that's our girl?" he murmurs quietly to Stiles.
no subject
He rocks back on his heels, twisting so that he can see the other end of the room. "Shouting her name here is kind of counterproductive to what we're trying to do," he says. It's ironic that the Computer's policies is the very thing making life unsafe for these people. "Guess we'll just have to find each other." Stiles agrees. And inefficient is right. Would a brief description be too much to include? It would have narrowed down the number of BLUE women they have to pick through.
"Hmm," he considers the woman Cisco had pointed out. Did she seem a little jumpy? She doesn't look like she'd slept well the previous night, so he thinks there's a good possibility that she could be their charge. "Let's find out."
Directly approaching the woman would probably be distressing, but Stiles doesn't want to lose her in the crowd either. He hurries forward, trying to approach from one side. He's pretty sure Cisco will be able to keep up with him, even as he ducks under a stray limb, nearly running into another person.
no subject
Ironically, Cisco thinks, if The Computer wasn't so anti-mutant, then maybe there wouldn't also be an Anti-Mutant hate group and then he and Stiles could be doing a zillion other equally stupid and boring things, but they'd be stupid and boring on their terms, rather than the Computer's. Go figure. "Yeah, probably not the best idea," Cisco agrees, his lips pressed together slightly.
Stiles starts moving and Cisco doesn't take long to catch up, even if he got a belated start. This kid is like no joke, ducking and bobbing and ain't nobody got time for that, so Cisco lets him and takes his time joining him. "Excuse me?" he calls out to the woman when Stiles looks to be within a decent distance from her. Cisco pushes his way past a handful of GREENS passing in the hall and taking up the whole width of it. "Jerks," he mutters with a frown. "Excuse me, ma'am?"
no subject
Stiles puts it aside for now, there'll be time to revisit it.
Eventually, he reaches Gabi, or who they presume to be Gabi. She'd slowed down when she'd seen them coming, or rather, she had seen Stiles coming, Cisco following at his more sedate pace.
"Yes?" She addresses Cisco first, though she eyes Stiles too, unsure about what they want. "Is there something I could help you with?" There's a stern edge to her voice, implying that they had better not be wasting her time.
"My name's Stiles, he's Cisco," He keeps his voice low, waving towards Cisco. "We're supposed to be shadowing someone. You wouldn't happen to be called Gabi, would you?"
From the way her expression shifts, Stiles knows she recognizes their names, though she doesn't look in any way reassured. That does not seem promising.
She's been here long enough to know what the Anti-Mutant hate group are capable of, two REDs probably seem a paltry defense. Even a whole squad of them night not feel like enough.
"That's me," Gabi answers. "You both better come along then."
no subject
He finally gets to the two of them, having picked up the pace when Gabi appeared to recognize their names. "Where do you want us? In front and behind; flanking either side...?"
She lifts her eyebrows. It's like they've never done this before. ...they're RED. They probably haven't. Gabi tries to keep from looking uncomfortable with their novice level of expertise — and that's using the word pretty loosely — and she starts walking off, assuming they'll be following.
"Whichever you think will work the best," she says and tries not to frown.
Cisco exchanges glances with Stiles and takes up Gabi's right side. He can't go in front because he has no idea where he's going.
He waits until they're in a quieter hallway before be speaks up conversationally. Get her to trust you, he reminds himself. "So, what can you do? What's your thing? I think one of my old clones was a mutant because I used to be able to like kind of read minds...ish...?"
That's a lie but also not a lie. There's more to the Vibes than that and he goes out of his way to use Alpha Complex context rather than saying that he used to be able to do it back home. "Unless you don't want to talk about it. That's cool, too," he tacks on a little belatedly to give her an easy out.
no subject
"This will be better for now, we'll be able to keep up with you for sure this way," he directs the words to Gabi, though he's pretty sure he's just stating Cisco's intentions aloud. To be able to know where they're supposed to go, while sticking close enough so that they get a better sense of each other. It makes their job easier.
Gabi doesn't let up her pace, taking a measured breath while she takes a right to the side hall. She's calmer now, but borne of rigid control, rather than actual emotion. "I don't really like to talk about it," she starts, voice tight. It's why she'd kept her ability hidden for so long; adrenaline control wasn't exactly obvious if she's careful not to overdo things, and for a time, it was easy to pass off as coincidence. "But if you really need to know, it's a hormonal thing."
She sighs, looking at both of them to gauge their reactions. The fact that Cisco use to have mutant abilities makes her less wary, but the keyword there was had. He has it easy. "It works on other people."
Okay, which doesn't sound like the worst thing, in Stiles' opinion. Still, a hormone thing doesn't really clarify matters, and remind him of euphemisms of PMS. He knows that thought won't be appreciated, so he just nods, not letting her words phase him. "I knew others who had things. I thought it was pretty cool, even with everything else that happened because of it." He looks aside, watching some other BLUEs heading in the opposite direction, before directing his attention back to Gabi. "They were hated for thier things too."
no subject
Although, to his credit, Stiles does seem to be on the same page with him already, so that's promising. Cisco gets the impression that she's especially uncomfortable — rather than just marginally so — when he brings up her mutant ability, but she does respond, which means that at least he has a foot in the door. That's something. A part of him feels kind of bad, like he's taking advantage of the situation a little too much with the plan he wants to set in motion, but it is what it is. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
"I don't need to know," Cisco says, "I was mostly just curious. You don't have to tell us more if you aren't comfortable," he adds for clarity. The last thing he needs is for this line of questioning to backfire because she clams up entirely. "My thing worked on other people, too. It freaks people out knowing that kind of thing. I hid it from even my best friends for months," he empathized.
He looks over at Stiles, a little surprised, and wonders if metahumans are a thing where Stiles comes from, too. "People can be cruel," he agrees, frowning. There's a reason he hid his metahuman abilities for as long as he did once they started to crop up. He was worried how Caitlin and Barry would take it.
"You know, Gabi, I've got some glitches in my code, uh, but I keep thinking 'metahuman' instead of mutant. I mean, that sounds nicer, right? Metahuman. That sounds less intimidating. So I don't know where it came from," he says — lie. Total lie — "but let's just use that for now, yeah? Between the three of us?"
no subject
At Cisco's look, Stiles hesitates a little, before saying: "If you have questions, you can ask. I'm not going to share specifics either." It doesn't matter that the people he's referring to aren't here, they're not his secrets to share. Even if that could make it easier to work with each other. That was always going hardest part of this: depending on each other to do their job. So far, Stiles has no clue what Cisco or Gabi are capable of, (her powers aside), and figuring that out on the fly is going to be as fun as bulling through a china shop. And that's on top of their own doubts.
Metahuman. It still is a loaded term, for all its inclusion of the word human, Gabi thinks. And it is better than referring to her abilities as mutant powers, or some vague term, not that she thinks there’s much of a mix up to be made between the three of them. “It's better than some of the other terms I've heard." She nods agreement, resigned towards working with them for the duration of their shift. "As for my own abilities, I'll tell you more if it's ever relevant," she says, nodding decisively. "Even if you have an idea of what it's like." She hopes she doesn’t have to do this all over again with whomever the Computer assigns her next - it wasn't as if she hadn't sat through hours of questioning along similar lines before she'd been released.
"That works for me, we won't have to be obvious about what we're talking about," Stiles says. It's still not as obscure as he would like, but if it's something they can all be comfortable with, he'll take it. "Oh, we can come up with a couple more signals too, stuff like 'we need to get out of here', or 'look to your right'." He hums a bit, before suggesting: "Hand signals, maybe?"
As they approach one of the taller buildings in the TechServ sector, Gabi pulls out her ME card, swiping it over the reader next to the main doors: a soft beep sounds, before they open to reveal a clinical foyer. "You're going to have to sign in at the desk." She points towards a small security booth near the elevators.
no subject
Holding up both hands briefly in defense before dropping them, Cisco gives Gabi a little smile. "I'm not going to push, it's fine. It's none of my business unless you want to share," he tells her. The more comfortable she is, the better. And when Stiles is adding to it with his own reassurance, Cisco feels like maybe they're not such a bad team after all. He likes this kid so far.
"Is all of that really necessary?" she asks, sounding uncomfortable and put off all rolled into one. If they haven't already worked these things out amongst themselves, she can't fathom this being a very successful mission, which might not matter much to them, but it matters a great deal to her. Her tone suggests that if it was necessary to come up with code or signals she's wondering why they haven't done it already.
Cisco exchanges a look with Stiles before clearing his throat. "Or...I mean, we could just nudge you in a direction if we feel like it's important that you move?"
He holds a finger up to Stiles to tell him to wait with Gabi while he makes his way over to the security desk to sign in. He'll wait with her while Stiles does it. Cisco makes his way over and flashes the temporary access badge to what appears to be the annoyance of the security guard who apparently doesn't appreciate the loud red jumpsuit Cisco is wearing in this very blue vicinity. After signing in, Cisco returns to Gabi and Stiles, waiting with her while Stiles gets himself signed in.
no subject
With that look, he knows they both are aware of just how delicate this is. They need Gabi to be willing to work with them to have any chance of succeeding at all, so he makes the decision to push. Just a little bit, but on the other issue in the room. "I was just thinking that if you knew them too, you could work with us," he explains, far more patiently than he actually feels. He can tell that Gabi's caught up in her own troubles, the kind of self-absorbed that makes it difficult for some people to step back from a situation. “Given that you know the area a lot better than us, you have a better idea of where to go, and what belongs if anything does happen. I mean, Cisco's right. We could just direct you to where we want you to go, or tell each other directly when we notice something - but that's easier to overhear, if they're following us. Or pick up remotely, if they've managed to access the camera feeds." He's assuming that they have audio recording. Fitting, for a city built on so much technology. The latter isn't something they can do much about, unless they can disrupt the signal somehow, and he's definitely not keen on that, even if he'd known how.
Which is a decent explanation, though it doesn't change Gabi's opinion that they could have been more prepared. Folding her arms across her chest, she sighs, saying: "Fine, if that's how this has to go. I can help you with getting around, and my coworkers." Everything else - they'll have to handle so she can actually get her work done. "I'd really prefer you just tell me if I need to go somewhere."
She starts a bit when Cisco walks off, though Stiles acknowledges his sign with a nod, shifting a bit so that he can watch the rest of the foyer while asking idle questions about what Gabi does here.
When it's his turn to report to the security kiosk, Stiles takes the time to comment that they probably should have used the delivery entrance, or it's equivalent while here on business - gophering is implied, undoubtedly a task not fitting for those in blue - which they'll take care to do in the future, if he could point it out? The guard isn't any more amenable, but he plays along. That done, he rejoins them as they make their way onto an elevator, and into Gabi's work area.
no subject
He's relieved, albeit only slightly, when Gabi agrees to work with them. It isn't trust, but it's a step in the right direction.
Cisco gives Gabi a moment of quiet time when Stiles goes to sign in with security. Someone in INDIGO moved a little too close to Gabi for Cisco's comfort level and his hand went to the laser gun at his side, moving away again only as the INDIGO Alpha moved along like they weren't even there.
While Gabi gets started with her Troubleshooting duties, Cisco leans over to Stiles, lowering his voice. "What took you so long at security? Did you get any good info?"
no subject
Stiles lingers near the door, for a bit, hearing it click shut behind them. It's the only entrance into the room.
"Well, there's a freight elevator, and a delivery entrance," he answers, walking further inside. There's nothing he really recognizes, none of the instruments are ones he would ever run into during high school, or in a machine shop. And while he'd expected a back door, or at least some sort of loading dock, he hadn't really guessed at the latter. Guess they'd had to get everything in here somehow
"It doesn't stop on every floor, but if it does, it exits at the end of the southwest hallway. You don't need a pass or anything to operate it past the first floor - but they're probably expecting that you'll have an escort at that point."
As they past by some of the other machines, he notices that the monitors all default to a login window once they sit idle for a while.
no subject
As uncomfortable as one entrance makes Cisco — what if there's a fire and its outside the door? That's kind of bullcrap, isn't it? — he has to sort of admit that it's a lot less work to watch one door than two. It's starting to seem like this mission is going to be a pretty easy one, even though it's a hellishly long shift. Gabi seems chill, Stiles is cool, this isn't so bad.
He nods, listening to Stiles. It's good information to have, considering. They move through the area and Cisco notices the logins, too. Immediately he wishes Felicity was his partner. No offense to Stiles, but he knows Felicity is the best damn hacker he's ever met. If anybody could get into those stations, it'd be her. Then again, he doesn't know Stiles. Stiles might be just as good. Don't judge, he tells himself.
None of the machinery looks terribly familiar to Cisco, either, but he's observing, taking in everything he can manage. What they look like, the sounds they make, what they appear to do as their function. It's all stuff he'll bring back to Barry to see what he can put together. None of it reminds him of the stuff Barry has in the lab at the precinct, though, nor of anything that Caitlin has in the lab at STAR. So...that's a little disconcerting. The idea if souping up the laser gun is lost because he wouldn't even know where to begin with the equipment on this clearance level...
He and Stiles mostly spend the rest of their afternoon idling within a ten yard radius of Gabi and when it's time for her shift to end, Cisco couldn't be more relieved. He's starving and he's so ready for food.
...except she doesn't seem to be headed toward the mess hall at all. He opens his mouth to protest, but closes it again as he and Stiles follow her to a private subsector that is...apparently where she lives. What the hell, he's got a roommate and there's still three more beds in his room alone; Gabi's got a whole subsector to herself?! He exchanges a look with Stiles.
"Do either of you have any food allergies?" Gabi asks as she unlocks get suite and lets them all inside. Cisco can't help being awestruck. He...sort of assumed that everywhere in the complex was kind of a dump, but this place looks like a swanky loft on the upper east side of New York. Or, at least, whatever pop culture's representation of them would suggest.
He snaps out of it and looks over at her. "Oh, no. Not me, anyway."
Gabi looks at Stiles with eyebrows lifted in question. It's the least she can do for them behaving at her service firm and being generally pleasant when they're not being paid extra credits, to her knowledge, and they're essentially risking their lives for a stranger. She can make them dinner; real food. She knows they don't have access to it in RED, because she remembers those days.
no subject
There isn't much time for conversation, which is funny, because all they're doing is waiting. Though the hum of machinery did pick up as time past, making talking difficult. And though he would have tried anyway, now isn't the best time for it. Stiles had taken to pacing back and forth around the room, occasionally stopping to regard machinery that catches his attention - bolted securely in place, beeps like R2D2, gives off more heat the the rest, - mostly though, he keeps looking from the door to the others, waiting fruitlessly in case something did happen. He would have been chewing on his fingernails, if he hadn't managed to kick that habit back in fourth grade.
Stiles is eager to leave when the time comes, having watched Gabi run through a process similar to the one she'd started with, checking and inputting data into the machines to make sure they're working properly and sending off her end of shift report, still he asks that she and Cisco wait a moment before following him out the door in the unlikely case there had been someone lurking around the halls outside, then out back to the streets.
Gabi's apartment is definitely awe-inspiring, Stiles gawks at the lavish furnishings and wonders if they're even allowed to sit on those couches. At least they hadn't had to wipe off their shoes, or anything. He stares back at Cisco, wide-eyed before he goes back to looking around again. This place is almost enough to make him forget just how tired he feels.
"Nope," he shakes his head in emphasis, before adding: "You can cook?" Here, he meant. He'd barely seen anything that resembles a stove, besides the food processors at the commissary. He'd started to think that kitchens just weren't something people cared for much. "Not that I'm disparaging your skills or anything, but it's just that things like pots and pans have seemed pretty scarce."
no subject
"For RED clearance, they would be, wouldn't they?" she asked coolly over her shoulder, still a little bit offended by the unintentional insinuation he'd made, as she made her way to the kitchen.
In his effort to keep from laughing, a snort issued itself from Cisco and he cleared his throat loudly to hide it. "You idiot," he said quietly, grinning with amusement as they could hear Gabi moving around the kitchen starting to prepare dinner.
no subject
All that, and he still doesn't know if they can sit down on the couches, though they don't really need an invitation or anything. She probably expects them to check her place out in the name of security.
He runs a hand through his hair, huffing at Cisco's amusement. "It could have gone worse," he offers wryly. "I could have insulted her before we even started, for one. And I believe that there's no such thing as a stupid question."
Sometimes, he needs to have the obvious pointed out to him, it's happened before, and it'll happen again - one of the inevitable facts in the world of Stiles Stilinski.
"Let's check the place out," he suggests.
no subject
At Stiles's suggestion, Cisco nods, but he thinks to call out to Gabi, just to cover their asses. "Gabi, Stiles and I are going to do a security sweep, just to make sure everything in the suite is safe," he says.
"Whatever you need to do," she calls back and Cisco looks over at Stiles, giving a facial shrug. He supposes that's all the permission they need to go through her crap a little in the interest of satisfying curiosity under the guise of securing the premises.
Cisco leads the way through the suite to look for her bedroom. If they were actually doing a security sweep, he figures that's the first place they'd secure, anyway, right?
Everything about this place is envy-inducing. It's gorgeous and spacious and it even smells kind of nice in Gabi's place. "Shit, I'm never going to want to go back to my own crappy room after this... Man..." he whines quietly to Stiles, frowning, as he leads the way into her room.
no subject
Stiles gives a little pause when Cisco asks for permission; that does make their job easier. He follows him towards the bedroom, poking around the windows. They don't open, so don't serve as good points of entry, but if Gabi asks, they can say they looked it over.
A lot of her personal effects are laid out on the bedside table, and a collection of pens, some in pieces clutter the small desk nearby. He leaves those alone, it's too easy to leave something out of place.
"Yeah," Stiles agrees. "I'm going to have to keep reminding myself not to get to comfortable. They really give a lot of incentive to try to work for the higher clearance levels."
no subject
Stiles is actually making an attempt to check the windows. Cisco, on the other hand, collapses onto Gabi's bed, confident that she's still in the kitchen. "Oh man, her mattress is so much better than mine!" he hisses, pushing himself back up. He probably actually should do some sweeping while they're in here. "Tell me about it," Cisco groans, moving to the closet and pulling the door open, sweeping the...additional blue jumpsuits apart to make sure there's no one hiding in there. Not that he thought there would be anyone.
It's not a walk-in closet, but it's big enough for a person or several to fit into, if they felt so inclined. So Cisco moves into her closet and starts tapping on the back wall of it systematically, making sure that there isn't a hollow. If there was one, then he'd have to check with Gabi to make sure that she's the one that put it there, but if there isn't, then it doesn't matter. But nothing sounds too out of place, so Cisco steps back out of the closet and arranges her jumpsuits the way that they were. "If I didn't think we'd just get crickets, I'd say we should ask her how she got to BLUE, because for real...this is like a whole different world from RED and seriously, screw RED now." He pauses for a beat. "Even more than twenty minutes ago, that is."
no subject
Stiles lingers at the window, looking out at the rest of the city. Actually being able to look outside is the thing he'll miss most about having to stay in the RED rooms. That, and privacy, but he can sort of work around that. And the beds there had seemed okay to him, but it had been rather late when he'd finally had gotten the chance to use it. "Hey, you think it could be Temper-pedic? That would be something."
He takes the chance to peer into the closet too, when he walks by it as he makes his way over to a chest of drawers. There's at least a dozen in there, not counting the ones that may have been removed for laundering, just how many of those does someone need? There's clothing in some drawers - he leaves that alone quickly enough - and books in another. Stamped with the logo of the city's only library. Light reading, from the state of the pages, the occasional word seen between dark lines of ink. There's nothing slipped into any of the pages besides a lone bookmark. Nothing that stands out.
"The place is pretty clear," he says, stopping to check the other door in the room. It leads to a small bathroom; neatly kept, and sterile looking. There's actually two doors there, the one Stiles had gone through, and the other that connected back into the main living areas. Someone had really put a lot of thought into these apartments, and knowing these places exist is just going to make it harder for him to get used to his own quarters.
"It's not exactly skill based, not when her job can be taken over by anyone else with the right training, so it's probably something she's done that secured her position," he guesses. That probably hadn't made her all that popular with the people who had known her before.
"So we probably shouldn't get too comfortable here, but I really want to."
no subject
"Temper-pedic or maybe one of those Sleep Number mattresses," Cisco replies. His own bed at home wasn't anything spectacular, but it was better than the bullshit down in his RED room. "Think if I flirt with her enough, she'll let me sleep with her tonight?" he asks, only half-joking.
At Stiles's assessment, Cisco nods his agreement. He looks over to see Stiles moving into the next room, which Cisco assumes is a bathroom.
That, he thinks, is actually a really good point. A trained monkey could probably do his job, he thinks, so that's not really a stretch of the imagination. "I wonder what, though. What makes the Computer...happy enough with you to give you a place like this?" he wonders aloud, scrubbing a hand over his mouth and chin before letting his arm fall back to his side. "And I wonder if she'd been registered as a meta, whether she'd still be a BLUE…" he adds thoughtfully.
"What are you two doing? My suite is not that big," Gabi's voice is calling, sounding caught somewhere between annoyed and worried. "Did you find something…? Is everything...safe?"
Cisco looks up sharply and all that he can manage to come up with is, "uuuhhhh—" Stiles, help a bro out.
no subject
So the layout of the suite is pretty straightforward - the door opening into the wide living room that branches off into the kitchen, and a hallway leading to the bedroom. There might be an office or another spare room, and a wall closet, but they'll have to check those doors to be sure.
"She hasn't been demoted for it," he murmurs. "So her abilities haven't been deemed enough of a risk to outweigh what she's done to make herself useful."
Stiles froze when Gabi had asked to know what they're up too, glancing back at Cisco and making a 'why me' face back at his expression. He can come up with stories, but they're not the greatest.
"We were checking around for other methods of entry, besides the obvious ones," he bullshits, after looking over her room again. He steps further out into the hallway, where he can see Gabi, holding a pan. "I had a little trouble when I was checking under the bed for vents."
"I got stuck," he clarifies at the confused look she gives him, which yeah, he was kind of expecting that peeved expression. Though given that he'd already annoyed her once already, it's not like he could make it that much worse for himself.
"But the windows are fine, and even if someone wanted to try parkouring their way up the side of the building, they need a glass cutter to get through." And the fact an assailant would have to get through him and Cisco if they'd tried the door is implied.

"Yet," Cisco says in a low voice. She hasn't been demoted for it yet, and Cisco feels like that distinction is important because the fact of the matter is, she hadn't registered and the only reason anyone knows now is because the information was leaked. That has to put a dent in a person's credibility, doesn't it? Not that Cisco thinks this place follows standard logic by any stretch of the word, but...
Stiles takes on the challenge like a champ and he starts to explain, moving out into the hallway and Cisco follows him. Once Stiles has gotten the ball rolling, it feels a little easier to come up with more bullshit to pile on top.
"I also checked the closet for any vulnerabilities, like on the chance that someone had broken in here before we got here, but there weren't any hollow points in the wall in the back of it, so the closet is secure, too. So yeah, it's safe. We just wanted to make sure," he says with a little smile that he hopes looks as sincere as he needs it to. Cisco's a pretty decent liar, he's just not too great being put on the spot.
Gabi looks between the two of them and lifts her eyebrows.
"We didn't touch anything we didn't have to," Cisco offers quickly, because he feels like he knows what the look is for.
She relaxes just barely. "Good. Well...I hope that you're finished, because dinner is ready and then I'd like to take a shower and go to bed. It's been a very long day," she says, frowning.
