Daycycle 101 [ July 31 - August 6 ]
daycycle 101
[July 31 - Aug 6]
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
Adam Parrish and Matt Murdock, have been selected for today’s mission. Details are below:
"We’ve repainted this antique autocar for its VIOLET owner, and we need someone to drive it back to its owner’s compound. Take one of these single-use brevet badges to demonstrate you’re authorized to use such high-clearance equipment. Whatever you do, don’t lose your badge! And whatever happens, don’t get into an accident! If you so much as scratch the paint job....
Maybe don't let the blind guy drive."
Please debrief the computer on the status of your mission by the end of the Daycycle here.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in Field A, Armed Forces Sector and will be hosted by the Extra Calisthenics Volunteer Group. Join ECV for a four hour boot camp designed to get you in peak physical shape or kill you trying!
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Buffy at least looks normal enough. And friendly enough. Blue offers a wry grin in return. "Welcome to the Matrix?"
no subject
Any place (okay almost any place) would be better than this from what Buffy can tell. Certainly vacationing with friends included.
Well, she's friendly enough and she's a non-threatening sort of not-normal, unless Blue means to end the world or otherwise endanger it's occupants. She's grateful that Blue hits her with a pop culture reference. "But I swear I asked for the blue pill." Her eyes shift and she looks uncertain. "Or was it the red pill? See this is what happens when you can't keep these things straight."
no subject
Blue has no intention to end the world or endanger it's occupants. Just the opposite: she's helped to save the world before. "I can't remember either," she admits. "I only saw the movie once."
no subject
See. They'll be just fine. "Which ever one it was, I'm pretty sure we both picked the wrong one. The worst part is that I haven't seen any cute guys in black leather coats yet." No, that's not the worst part, but Buffy is trying to make light of things. It's what she does.
no subject
The Neo quip gets a small grin from her. Not that she really cares to see any cute guys in black leather coats. Gansey is all the cute she ever needs in her life, thank you very much. So she goes with the obvious: "That wouldn't necessarily give us any helpful answers about this place."
no subject
The grin is good though. At least Blue knows what Buffy is talking about. That's always ideal when making new friends. Unfortunately, Buffy doesn't have a Gansey and the guys in black leather coats that she's dated thus far she's no longer dating. Buffy sighs dramatically. "No, but our view would be so much better while we got those answers."
no subject
Her grin is faint but clear at Buffy's joke. "I don't have much experience with guys in black leather coats. Most of boys back home prefer their Aglionby letter jackets."
no subject
"Letter jackets for what?"
no subject
"How am I supposed to know?" she responds with a shrug. "It wasn't my school."
And up until she met her raven boys, she could care less about what the rest of them did.
no subject
"Ah," she nods a little. "The clubs here don't give letter jackets. They're more Skull and Crossbones sort of things." Secret. They're secret.
no subject
Except for the fact that it would probably make life here a little more tolerable.
Tilting her head, Blue considers Buffy's words. Skull and crossbones represent a number of things. Pirates, poison, death. None of them sound right for wherever they've found themselves trapped. "I don't think I'm following."
no subject
Buffy exhales, puffing her cheeks out as she does. "CIA-ish?" She glances up at one of the cameras to try and convey that she's trying to be secretive.
no subject
Blue's eyes light with recognition at the clarification. Huh. "Why?"
no subject
Friends will help her. Buffy has had to make all her own and she's still in the process of doing that, but she thinks she's got a start.
Stalling, Buffy tucks loose strands from her ponytail behind her ears. "You've heard about the expectations of the Computer, right?"
no subject
no subject
Buffy nods a little. She doesn't believe that the 'glitches' in her memory are fake either for the same reasons. "Exactly. Soooooo we want to xnay on the easontray and be model citizens with ecretsays."
So, so, sorry Blue. Hopefully you're up on your Pig Latin, or you just think Buffy is insane.
no subject
"Ight-ray," Blue replies. Pig Latin is a silly language but there was a brief time, when she and Orla were both tiny, where they tried to learn it so they could talk in front of the other women without being understood. Or that was the idea. It had lasted all of one summer, before Orla started middle school and decided she was too old for games with her cousin. "Anything else I should know?"
no subject
A smile bursts over Buffy's face. She nods a little so glad that Blue picked up on the Pig Latin. It's a ridiculous language, but she's better the computer doesn't understand. She ponder's Blue's question then shakes her head. "I think that'll get you started. I'll be around if you need help."
no subject
"Thanks," she replies. This isn't where she wants to be - far, far from it - but it does help to meet some potentially helpful acquaintances on her first day. "I'm Blue, by the way."
no subject
"And no problem. We all need some help getting used to this place."
