Daycycle 101 [ July 31 - August 6 ]

daycycle 101

[July 31 - Aug 6]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
Adam Parrish and Matt Murdock, have been selected for today’s mission. Details are below:

"We’ve repainted this antique autocar for its VIOLET owner, and we need someone to drive it back to its owner’s compound. Take one of these single-use brevet badges to demonstrate you’re authorized to use such high-clearance equipment. Whatever you do, don’t lose your badge! And whatever happens, don’t get into an accident! If you so much as scratch the paint job....

Maybe don't let the blind guy drive."

Please debrief the computer on the status of your mission by the end of the Daycycle here.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in Field A, Armed Forces Sector and will be hosted by the Extra Calisthenics Volunteer Group. Join ECV for a four hour boot camp designed to get you in peak physical shape or kill you trying!

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Blue definitely doesn't envy anyone their first arrival here. Of course, she's certainly not at all happy with her not too recent return to the complex either. She could be with Gansey and Henry right now, seeing all Tennessee has to offer. Instead, she's in this place. Whatever this place is.

Buffy at least looks normal enough. And friendly enough. Blue offers a wry grin in return. "Welcome to the Matrix?"

Any place (okay almost any place) would be better than this from what Buffy can tell. Certainly vacationing with friends included.

Well, she's friendly enough and she's a non-threatening sort of not-normal, unless Blue means to end the world or otherwise endanger it's occupants. She's grateful that Blue hits her with a pop culture reference. "But I swear I asked for the blue pill." Her eyes shift and she looks uncertain. "Or was it the red pill? See this is what happens when you can't keep these things straight."

There are places Blue might never want to visit. Like wherever the hell that demon came from. Or here. Especially as the minutes pass here and she's reminded of the brief time she previously spent here. Would it be too much to ask to at least go back to Henrietta?

Blue has no intention to end the world or endanger it's occupants. Just the opposite: she's helped to save the world before. "I can't remember either," she admits. "I only saw the movie once."

Apparently, it is. Because Buffy would like very much to go back to San Francisco. Thanks so much.

See. They'll be just fine. "Which ever one it was, I'm pretty sure we both picked the wrong one. The worst part is that I haven't seen any cute guys in black leather coats yet." No, that's not the worst part, but Buffy is trying to make light of things. It's what she does.

And Blue would like to go back to Tennessee. Or even Henrietta. At least if she's home, she can get back to Gansey and Henry. There's very little that wouldn't be better than this.

The Neo quip gets a small grin from her. Not that she really cares to see any cute guys in black leather coats. Gansey is all the cute she ever needs in her life, thank you very much. So she goes with the obvious: "That wouldn't necessarily give us any helpful answers about this place."

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-08-22 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)

The grin is good though. At least Blue knows what Buffy is talking about. That's always ideal when making new friends. Unfortunately, Buffy doesn't have a Gansey and the guys in black leather coats that she's dated thus far she's no longer dating. Buffy sighs dramatically. "No, but our view would be so much better while we got those answers."

Speaking the same language helps whenever you're in a new place. It's key in making friends and being a lot less alone than you might otherwise be. Or at least that's what Blue's presuming. This is the first time she's ever wound up in a scenario like this.

Her grin is faint but clear at Buffy's joke. "I don't have much experience with guys in black leather coats. Most of boys back home prefer their Aglionby letter jackets."
whattingawhat: (Are you with me?)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-08-30 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Buffy believes the same thing and she's certain making friends will make this place more bearable.

"Letter jackets for what?"
makeslouder: ([indifference] unsure)

[personal profile] makeslouder 2016-09-06 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Supposedly having friends helps in crappy situations. Blue Sargent had spent most of her life without friends in her life. She had family and school acquaintances and that had been enough for her. The raven boys had changed that.

"How am I supposed to know?" she responds with a shrug. "It wasn't my school."

And up until she met her raven boys, she could care less about what the rest of them did.
whattingawhat: (There's just me)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-09-06 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Buffy had learned that lesson very early in her life and she's trying to make sure that she gathers friends around her now.

"Ah," she nods a little. "The clubs here don't give letter jackets. They're more Skull and Crossbones sort of things." Secret. They're secret.
makeslouder: ([indifference] unsure)

[personal profile] makeslouder 2016-09-07 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
In the past year and a half, Blue has learned the sanctity of friendship. But she wants those friends in particular. She wants Gansey and Henry, Ronan and Adam. No one else would be the same so why should she bother making new ones?

Except for the fact that it would probably make life here a little more tolerable.

Tilting her head, Blue considers Buffy's words. Skull and crossbones represent a number of things. Pirates, poison, death. None of them sound right for wherever they've found themselves trapped. "I don't think I'm following."
whattingawhat: (Doubting you)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-09-10 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Buffy gets that too. She wants Dawn back and Xander, Willow, Spike...all of her friends. Unfortunately, they're not being given that choice.

Buffy exhales, puffing her cheeks out as she does. "CIA-ish?" She glances up at one of the cameras to try and convey that she's trying to be secretive.
makeslouder: ([indifference] unsure)

[personal profile] makeslouder 2016-09-14 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
She's not aware that she has at least two of them here. Not the two that she's closest with but in the end, that doesn't so much. Having someone is better than having no one. And Buffy's right; this isn't a choice they get.

Blue's eyes light with recognition at the clarification. Huh. "Why?"
whattingawhat: (Default)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-09-15 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)

Friends will help her. Buffy has had to make all her own and she's still in the process of doing that, but she thinks she's got a start.

Stalling, Buffy tucks loose strands from her ponytail behind her ears. "You've heard about the expectations of the Computer, right?"

makeslouder: ([serious] line face)

[personal profile] makeslouder 2016-09-20 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"The Computer runs everything," Blue cites in a matter-of-fact tone. She remembers some of that propaganda the video had spouted at her. Although Blue had no choice in watching it, she had watched some of it out of mere curiosity. Not that she believes any of it. Those so-called 'glitches' in her memory feel too real to be fake. "The Computer is our friend. Or something like that."
whattingawhat: (Default)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-09-21 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)

Buffy nods a little. She doesn't believe that the 'glitches' in her memory are fake either for the same reasons. "Exactly. Soooooo we want to xnay on the easontray and be model citizens with ecretsays."

So, so, sorry Blue. Hopefully you're up on your Pig Latin, or you just think Buffy is insane.

makeslouder: ([indifference] unsure)

[personal profile] makeslouder 2016-09-29 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Given where they are, what they've been told, and these damned 'glitched' memories that Blue would prefer to consider real, she wouldn't be surprised if Buffy is insane. Or if Blue's the crazy one in this conversation. Some combination of the two.

"Ight-ray," Blue replies. Pig Latin is a silly language but there was a brief time, when she and Orla were both tiny, where they tried to learn it so they could talk in front of the other women without being understood. Or that was the idea. It had lasted all of one summer, before Orla started middle school and decided she was too old for games with her cousin. "Anything else I should know?"
whattingawhat: (Look at that smile)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-10-01 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Buffy likes to think that neither of them are insane. It's this place that's crazy.

A smile bursts over Buffy's face. She nods a little so glad that Blue picked up on the Pig Latin. It's a ridiculous language, but she's better the computer doesn't understand. She ponder's Blue's question then shakes her head. "I think that'll get you started. I'll be around if you need help."
makeslouder: ([neutral] listening)

[personal profile] makeslouder 2016-10-12 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a-okay with Blue. She prefers being sane.

"Thanks," she replies. This isn't where she wants to be - far, far from it - but it does help to meet some potentially helpful acquaintances on her first day. "I'm Blue, by the way."
whattingawhat: (Look at that smile)

[personal profile] whattingawhat 2016-10-14 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Buffy," she introduces herself. She'd gotten so caught up in how to tell Blue about this place without tipping the computer off that she'd forgotten to introduce herself.

"And no problem. We all need some help getting used to this place."
