Daycycle 116 [ November 13 - November 26 ]

daycycle 116

[Nov 13 - Nov 26]

[OOC Plotting for this Daycycle can be found here.]
[The Charity Ball Entertainment post is here.]
[This DC has been extended through 11/26.]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

No Special Troubleshooters have been selected for a mission this morning.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Matt Murdock's office will be assigned to defend the most recent Specials accused of treason. He will not be allowed to contact the traitors directly, but he will be given the task of preparing his cases. He has 48 hours to prepare.

Jack Harkness has been selected to plan the entertainment for tonight's Charity Ball, thanks to the popularity of his performances during the Alpha Talent Show a few days ago. When he asks The Computer for help, several specials are assigned to him. Izzy Lightwood will be his event planning assistant and "Stiles" Stilinski will assist in MCing the night's event. Due to their popularity, all Specials will be approached about being auctioned off for dances in order to help raise money by Jack, Izzy and Stiles. They will also be asked if they're willing to take part in specially planned choreographed dances. Dance lessons will be provided for those that require them during the afternoon hours.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will begin at 1800 at the Alpha Museum of Fine Art and will be hosted by The Humanists Alpha Society for the Arts. Tickets to the event are 1000cr and can be bought up until an hour before the event begins. Attendees have been given special permission to wear Old Reckoning clothing for this event only, as long as it is the same color as their clearance level. Specials may notice that many of the Alpha Citizen's outfits have gotten key parts of Old Reckoning clothing wrong, with buttons instead of sequins, for example, or men wearing ties that are much too long and go to their knees. Alpha's Very Special Forces will be present to ensure the safety of those attending.

An entire wing of the museum has been cleared as a makeshift dance floor. In an attached room there are several tables covered in white tablecloths and set with the crystal and china that usually only graces Violet citizen tables. Along the wall is a massive buffet made with real food and including an elaborate ice sculpture. There is a bar in the corner where Alpha's finest spirits are being disbursed freely. For the first hour, the focus is on the food and mingling. The music playing is calming and instrumental. There are some that steal the dancefloor for a slow spin, but the majority of the attendees seem reluctant to move away from the buffet.

And then at approximately 1900, Jack Harkness will take the stage and begin the evening's real entertainment.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

That someone might purposely starve themselves for the sake of being skinny is something Katniss could never comprehend. She understands the concept of starving as a last means of suicide. Or starving, as she's doing in this case, to prevent being drugged. But Katniss has gone through too many Hollow Days in her life to care about being fat or skinny or anything in between. She's small and slight because her nutrition growing up hadn't been terrific. Because she had been in the hospital recovering from burns and then too depressed to eat in the days leading up to arriving in Alpha.

If Katniss knew what Zatanna was thinking, she'd laugh. And then probably call the other girl insane.

"I do." Katniss' lips twitch into a slight frown as she watches Zatanna. Admitting her paranoia isn't something Katniss is comfortable in doing but she's already discussed it once with the girl, hasn't she? "I don't want to take the chance this is drugged too."

When they shake hands and Matt says he knows who he is, Steve’s not surprised yet. After that surprise Most Eligible Bachelor series came out, it seems like most people know of him.

But then Matt calls him Captain, and Steve’s head turns ever so slightly as he gives the man a curious look. “All right, Matt,” he says, smiling in return. “But you’ll need to call me Steve. And I’m only a lieutenant here.” But that curious look in his eyes isn’t gone, and he can’t help but wonder if Matt knows exactly who he is.

There’s just a second of silence before Steve gets straight to business.

“I heard this morning that you’ve been assigned to defend the Specials accused of treason yesterday. I’ve met all four of them before, and I know some of them much better than the others, but …” Steve shakes his head as he exhales. Every time this happens, it’s so much more than just frustrating. “Is there anything I can do to help?”

[ ooc: some time after this ]

After a few more drinks, Tony essentially stumbles out of the museum, liquored up to the gills, but it's not like he really cares. There's a brief moment where he looks back towards the door, contemplating on staying only because there's more booze he hasn't consumed just yet and clearly he's not drunk enough if he's still standing, but he can't do it. He can't stand even the idea of being in the same room as Steve anymore. He can't see him smiling, or dancing with others. He can't be there when he dances with someone for the 'last dance,' especially considering he had helped him practice, and Tony almost doubles over when he realizes for the millionth time just how damn stupid he had been.

But no, stupid isn't a good enough word for this. Because apparently Tony didn't have enough with letting Steven Grant Rogers break his heart once in a HYDRA bunker in Siberia; apparently Tony is enough of an idiot to let himself think that he could have actually--

"Maybe later … we can try out those dance moves you taught me. See if they’re any good."

Tony's breath catches in his throat, making him feel as if he's choking, but he lets out a sound as if it's supposed to be a laugh while he walks. Because it's laughable, isn't it? How could he have thought that Steve would actually feel anything for him? Not only that, but how could he have been so stupid to actually let himself feel anything for Steve? Even if no one would probably believe it, up until Siberia, there had always been a sense of admiration towards Steve. It's one of those things that Howard had all but embedded into his son and sure, it could have probably been considered a sort of crush, especially when he was younger, but it never felt like this. Ever since he and Steve have been trying to repair their friendship, for some goddamn reason Tony has found himself gravitating towards him in a way that he hadn't before, and now

And now it feels like his heart is in a million fucking pieces. The alcohol is helping to numb himself out to some degree, but it's not enough to stop that sense of suffocation from making him feel like he can't breathe. He wants to call Rhodey; he wants to get into one of his cars and drive away; he wants to just fly until he can't remember anymore, but he can't do any of those things.

Worst of all, he can't forget. He can't get out of his head the way that Steve looked at him. The way he was speaking, the way he suggested an actual dance. The way he didn't even flinch as Tony reached for his tie, other than to tell him that if he was going to pull on it then he should...

He can't forget the way he peeled away, as if realizing what he was doing. As if he had finally come to his senses, and had managed to cut Tony at his knees just by pointing out that he should go. The memory is enough to make his chest ache, as if the pain is more physical than anything else, but other than briefly massaging the spot next to the reactor as if that will make it go away, he doesn't stop walking. The anger, the frustration, the self disgust - it's all propelling him forward, far away from the fucking ball, no matter how sluggish his body feels.

It's not until he reaches the waterfront that he stops, but only because he has to. His body is swaying, the open air amplifying the effects of the alcohol, and god, he feels sick. It's hard to tell if it's from the impending hangover or if it's just at himself, but he leans against one of the railings and stares blankly out at the water.

If he jumps in, would he be able to just disappear and go back home? There's a moment of temptation that has him grasping onto the railing as if he's ready to fling himself over it, but he doesn't. Somehow he manages to stay in place, almost too quiet and still, but it doesn't last long. As he stares out at the water, he starts to hit his left fist against the railing, his movements almost robotic. It's slow at first, barely a tap that almost resembles a sort of anxious tic, but as everything that happened plays in his head more and more, he hits harder and harder. He probably looks deranged, but he doesn't care. It's the last thing he's thinking about. Especially when he finally hits hard enough for a sickening crack to fill the air around him, and the pain that explodes along his hand is enough to pull him out of his thoughts.

In some sick way, though, as he looks down at the way his hand is now shaking, it's almost satisfying to feel that pain. It's a distraction, in some way. And he caused it, rather than letting someone else hurt him all over again, and for now that's enough to calm him at least for a moment. He should probably go to Medical Services and get checked out, but he doesn't bother to walk back; instead, he just lowers himself to sit on the floor, staring out at the water as he rests his broken hand on his lap.

Maybe if he stays out here, it will finally clear his thoughts and he can get rid of the weight that is making it hard to breathe.

Maybe if he wishes it hard enough, he can finally go home before he has to wake up and live with this all over again.

Her response does admittedly take Derek a little off guard and that's mostly because he's not sure if she's being literal or figurative with that statement. Derek feels like he has no home to go back to, but that's because even though Beacon Hills is still there, it isn't home anymore. Even though Brooklyn is still there, that isn't home anymore, either. Derek doesn't belong anywhere anymore. He refuses to call this place home because that's an especially pathetic way to admit defeat and Derek isn't willing to do that.

The irony in the fact that she says it burned to the ground because of her is so thick in the air that he's almost choking on it. Derek's still not sure if that's literal or figurative, but for him, to some degree, that statement would be very literal. Beacon Hills hasn't been home since the Hale House burned down and that was his fault.

"Katniss, you can list off reasons I shouldn't care about you until your face turns blue, but I can't just turn it off. Do you understand that? I'm in it now and I can't just turn it off," he says, frowning. If turning off emotion like that is something Katniss can do, Derek can't decide whether he feels pity or envy toward her.

His head lowers a little more, forehead meeting hers. "We both only ever get people killed. We're both homeless because we fucked up. I'm sorry that you know how it feels. I wish that you didn't."

Metaphoric language isn't really something Katniss is good at. She's blunt and to the point, incapable of lying or saying anything but what's directly on her mind. While Katniss hadn't been there to witness the destruction of her District, she had gone back to see what little remained. Snow had purposely spared the Victor's Village to further his message. The rest though? The charred remains of her childhood and the the skeletal remains of those caught in the fire remained permanently seared in her memory. Her sister's death isn't the only thing she has nightmares about.

Her statement had been very literal. Of course, she doesn't know how literal the words can be for Derek, too.

Turning off emotion is something she wishes she can do. It's something she wishes she could do for a long time now. But no matter how hard she tries, she feels. She feels too much. Alpha Complex isn't Panem but it doesn't change how dangerous this place might be. Or how damaged she is.

"Aren't you afraid that I'll get you killed?" she whispers, not moving away when his forehead leans against her own. Her gaze meet his and she can't hide her vulnerability right now. "Because I am."

The more people she lets into her life, the more likely that eventually, one of them will die because of something she did.

It feels good to have Buffy on his arm, even if just for a little bit as they walk to the bar. Zee is his best friend. Buffy is a friend too, and something more maybe, and closer to his own age. So there's just a different vibe with her that would still be there even if they hadn't fucked a day after meeting one another. So he'd be lying if he said it didn't feel different, in a good way, to be with her here for a little bit.

"Beer." He tells her. It's probably obvious that there's very little about Alcide that gets fancy, including his drinking preferences. "I don't really get outside of the realm of cheap beer unless it's a shot of tequila or somethin'."

He looks sidelong at her. "What about you?"

[personal profile] adamparrish 2016-11-23 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"No. No." Adam says quickly when Matt asks if he's interested in filing charges. Adam doesn't want that kind of trouble. He wants it to go away so he can get back to flying under the radar and work toward his own goals in a smart way, rather than this feeling of being exposed he has now, since the attack.

Maybe he should want to file charges. But Adam has been beaten up plenty of times. You just don't talk about it or do anything about it where he's from. Sure, he was forced into it back home, into a trial so he could be his own person outside of his parent's house, but here... it's different.

"It isn't about me. This is about Ronan. If the Computer decides to push things with him, because of the Free Enterprise fights, I need you to take care of him." He says. "He's all I have."

[personal profile] adamparrish 2016-11-23 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"A good cause that benefits the Computer, I'm sure." Adam isn't absolutely positive on that front. But somehow, benefiting the bot processing factory seems a very close link to helping the Computer. They're processing BOTS, after all - as in ROBOTS. Adam isn't here to help with that. He knows Ronan isn't either.

Still, it's admittedly nice to wear something other than the jumper and to eat real food and drink real drink and generally feel a sense of normalcy. Although it also, to Adam, seems to magnify the basic freedoms that the Computer has stripped from them.

"So I was thinking..." He says, picking a cookie off the plate and taking a small bite of it. "Maybe you could... teach me to fight."

"Basically, yeah," Lydia agrees. She hadn't really thought about it specifically that way, but when he says it, it pretty accurately falls in line with what she'd been thinking. "One can only hope. I'm going to be mostly breaking even on pay if it doesn't start to pick up," she says quietly. Because her daily pay is going right into Cisco and Tony's ME accounts at the moment.

For a second, the surprise that registers on Matt's face leaves Lydia struggling between worried and upset. Worried because she isn't really sure how he's going to take the sentiment and upset because she wonders if surprise means that she's been doing a poor job at showing him in other ways without the words to dictate it. But the expression softens into something more fond and Lydia relaxes into a smile.

Hearing him say it back feels better than Lydia imagined it would and she gives him a chaste kiss before stroking his cheek gently with her thumb as she holds his jaw. "You have no idea how much of a relief that is. I was terrified that you'd be freaked out," she admits.

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2016-11-23 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"No anyway about it. She wanted to come, but not alone, so..." He shrugs. It's not like he could have said no to her. And he likes hanging out with her anyway. This is just them hanging out while dressed up and in a room full of other people that Alcide doesn't really know. Basically, they can still have fun either way.

So Gracie and Cisco are here on a date in spite of whatever happened with the coffee between them? Alcide nods slowly at that realization. "That's good. Guess I should meet him sometime. Be a little intimidating so he knows you've got people lookin' out for you."

He looks back at Gracie and runs a hand back through his hair. "My coffee awkward isn't to date point yet... or probably ever. We're shootin' for bein' friends, I guess. Workin' past the awkward."

With a little smirk, Lydia nods. She knows that Tony is, anyway; that's why she's hired him. All she can do is take his word on Cisco, but she trusts Tony and his judgement in this arena. "I believe you," she replies. "I'm glad progress is being made. Fast or slow is less important than progress itself." And while she's vaguely impatient, that much really is true. She'd rather they take longer and perfect the projects than rush and end up having to take longer tweaking fixes into the end result anyway.

Tony, like Lydia, isn't just book smart. He's not just technologically inclined. He has emotional intelligence and she can see by the look on his face that he's put the pieces together. He knows that she's part of the group that created this night. She might not have had a hand in the planning because as someone who isn't fully initiated, she wasn't really invited to give input, which was fine because she knows her place and she knows that it's delicate. But either way, she's a part of something that's actually good in this place and even if she has to keep it quiet, she's still proud of that.

"I could probably float you an invite," she says loftily, intentionally keeping significance out of her tone because they're still in public, "if you wanted to join me for a meeting sometime. Something to think about." She'll leave it at that unless Tony presses it forward, because the last thing Lydia wants to be is pushy about it. That's a quick way to suck the wind out of the sails of interest for someone and she knows it.

Katniss admits to having liked the food and the fact that she's still not really eating any worries Zatanna even further down the eating disorder rabbit hole, but she keeps the sentiment to herself. She doesn't know Katniss very well; they're not friends, yet. It isn't her place to say anything and she's willing to stay in her lane, for now. For now.

But the other girl continues and Zatanna smiles a little. "Katniss..." she says gently, gesturing with one hand. "Look at all the green and blue and purple dresses and suits in this room. I think the drugs are just for us because being RED is so crappy. There's too much food and too many upper clearance people in here, I think it's probably safe. Plus, I've been eating it and I feel fine," she points out. She gives Katniss an empathetic look because she knows where the paranoia stems and she can't really blame the other girl for being cautious, after all.

"I think if there was one time when the food is probably clean...it's now. So maybe you should stock up, you know? While you can..."

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2016-11-23 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
He nods at her explanation of the name Katniss and shrugs. "Got no good excuse for my name." Which is true. He knows in Greek it means Strong Man, which is true enough for him. But he also knows that neither one of his parents are that insightful. His dad was probably drunk and decided it would be funny. But Alcide doesn't seem too bothered by it in any case. In fact, he smirks after the admittance because really, it is kind of funny to him.

As far as Katniss's relation to Derek and Buffy, Alcide nods. "Yeah, they're both good people, far as I can tell."

To be truthful, Alcide hasn't been here long enough to make a full assessment to that fact. But he is closest to Derek and Buffy than he is to anyone else aside from Zee. They haven't done anything to prove otherwise to him yet. He has to hold that to be true going into the future with them.

He gestures a hand in the general direction of the goings on around the room. "So what do you think of all this? You havin' fun yet, Katniss?" He's unsure that she has, given the seriousness of her expression when he'd first noticed her. "Anyone asked you to dance yet?"

His eyebrows cock with interest at her question. Is he afraid that she'll get him killed? It's a fair question in her mind, he's sure. If she feels like all she leaves in her wake is destruction, it makes sense to ask that and Derek should know. He feels like that, too.

Then, he shakes his head a little, his forehead still against hers. "I'm not afraid of anything worth letting my life stop over anymore," he whispers back. And he supposes that if he wants to prove that, he ought to make his actions match his words.

Derek leans in a little and his lips brush against Katniss's, chaste and soft and he pulls back, not much, but enough to give her space. Derek is afraid of being a failure. He's afraid of getting the people he cares about killed. He's afraid of going to sleep alone. But life goes on and Derek's gotten to the point in it that if he just keeps holding back and stunting himself from every trying to grow, he's realized that he'll never get past it. And maybe he never will, anyway, but at least he can say he tried. "I'm not afraid of you, Katniss. Stop being afraid of me."
stillplaying: ([others] maybe)

[personal profile] stillplaying 2016-11-23 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
His words go along perfectly with everything that he's been saying. That she needs to live. She needs to embrace life here in Alpha Complex - especially given what little remains of any life she could have back home. No District, no sister. Too much guilt weighing down on her, guilt for mistakes that she doubts that she'll ever be able to atone for. She needs to stop using all of that pain from her past as an excuse. No matter how hard doing that might be.

Katniss is ready to call him an idiot but Derek doesn't give her a chance. The kiss is chaste but it's still a kiss, his lips warm and soft against her own. She finds herself smiling when he pulls away. This isn't like that last kiss. That one had been the result of all the HappiTime pills and the other drug slipped in the coffee. This one is real. And her reaction, the way her heart seems to skip a beat, is real too.

Life does go on. That's the most terrifying part of all.

"I'm not afraid of you," she clarifies quietly, glancing at his lips and wondering what it might take to get him to kiss her again. And feeling just a little uncomfortable that that she's considering just taking that kiss herself. "It's that other thing. Hurting you."

[personal profile] duelo 2016-11-23 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
He gives another subtle shake of his head. "If you hurt me, you won't be the first or the last. That's life," Derek says quietly. The tone is neutral because he's stating a fact. As far as Derek is concerned, life is little more than a collection of small victories and big disappointments. Nothing in life would feel good if people didn't also encounter pain to balance it. If one doesn't know pain, how can one truly know happiness and appreciate it?

"Stop being scared. Take the leap of faith or don't, but don't be too afraid to try if you want to try. Take it from someone who has done that too many times, you're hurting yourself more than you can ever hurt anyone else," he tells her.

She hadn't pushed him away when he'd kissed her and she still hasn't. That makes him want to try again but he hesitates, as well he thinks he should because if he doesn't, then he's taking the leap for her. Derek has made his interest loud and clear now. Pushing it any further on his own isn't fair. She has to make the decision, ultimately, whether she wants to stay the course or call it done.

So what if that's life? It doesn't excuse anything if she still winds up hurting him. Katniss doesn't even have to try. It seems that all she has to do is exist in order to hurt the people in her life. She doesn't know how much more heartache she can actually survive. If she had stayed in Panem, would she have ever found her voice again? Finding herself in Alpha Complex forced her out of that depression. It wouldn't take her much to break again.

A little more happiness in her life might not be such a bad thing. She has Prim and that's certainly brought some joy back into her life. How dangerous would it be to to let a little more in?

She places her thumb on his chin, rubbing it curiously over the scruffy hair that covers his face. Her other fingers curl underneath his jaw and she tilts his head towards hers. Kissing a boy shouldn't be so terrifying, not after all the experience she had gotten kissing Peeta over the past two years. Yet if not for the Hunger Games, Katniss would never have been so free with her kisses. She'll never be that kind of girl. She doesn't have to be to recognize what Derek's offering her right now: a chance to step forward.

Her eyes close as she finally presses her lips against his and smiles again. Her kiss is gentle and tentative, but it's real.

Most people don't really have a good excuse for their names. Katniss and Prim are unique in that, in the fondness their parents shared for plants. At least Alcide isn't a ridiculous name like the ones they give children in District 1. He could do a lot worse as names go. He could be named Gloss. But she doesn't mention that. If she did, she might have to explain Panem and that's one of the last things she feels like doing right now.

Katniss nods in response to Alcide's comment on Derek and Buffy. They seem like good people. It's Katniss that's the problem, that probably shouldn't be spending time around good people. As distrustful as Katniss can be of those around her, she dislikes herself even more. People here shouldn't be so willing to let her into their lives and yet...

"It's different than normal," Katniss comments rather than answering the questions he poses. She probably could be having more fun than she actually is but Katniss doesn't trust anything in the room enough to relax like that. Someone needs to watch Prim. "And no, no one's asked yet."

Yeah, Matt has heard about those too, but it's now how Matt knows him.

"Steve it is," Matt responds. Without his implants, without his senses, he's got no idea what sort of look Steve is giving him. He's only got his verbal cues to go on and he doesn't know Steve well enough to 'read' any of his body language.

Matt waits the silence out, aware that it means Steve is going to talk to him about something important.

"Yes. I really only heard this morning as well. I spent the day working on the case." Matt considers Steve's words a moment. "Actually, it would be very helpful if you could tell me a little about them. I'm not allowed to talk to my clients."

Matt furrows his brow a little with concern when she says she's going to be breaking even on pay soon. "If you need some help, you'll ask me, right?" Unfortunately, he's not sure what he can do to help her here. He can put some money into Cisco and Tony's ME accounts if necessary, or in Lydia's account and he doesn't mind that because there's so little that he cares to use his credits for. Besides, if they were back home, he would have Lydia living with him and he'd support her until she got on her feet.

He'd only been surprised because he hadn't been expecting it. He knows that Lydia loves him; he'd thought that maybe they were a couple who didn't say those words.

His smile soft, fond. "You know, I did suspect that you felt that way," he teases her a little. "I hope you suspected I love you too. I just wasn't sure if we were going to say the words or not."

She rolls her eyes at him. "Fine. If I get naked and have sex with Alcide again, I'm totally blaming you this time." She raises her brows at his claim he's not sleeping with Katniss. She's about to argue to the contrary when he gets specific. "I would ask why not, but then I'd be very pot and kettle." She sighs dramatically. "One, I do not sound like that. Two think about everything you'd miss out on if you hadn't come. Food. Booze."

She shrugs a little. "I think that's because of the whole drunk feeling." She tilts her head, considering their options. "We could try strawberry daiquiris. Those are like snow cones."

There's a very different vibe between Buffy and Alcide as opposed to Buffy and Derek, or any of her other friends. Sure, part of it is that afternoon they'd been drugged, but it had been there before. That vibe had been there that first day when she'd answered questions for him about this place. It is good to feel this way, this fizzy, warm excitement that bubbles in her when he's near.

She nods a little there. She remembers very clearly drinking the magicked beer at college and in some way it had soured her for beer. Of course, back home, beer doesn't do anything for her and she sticks to Jameson or tequila.

"Daiquiri earlier, but I had some beer after that. I think I'll do another daiquiri."

She totally gets it. She feels the same way when Cisco looks at her like she's the best thing in this place. She'd been so afraid that the drugged coffee would negatively impact whatever sort of relationship they had, but she couldn't ask for a better start, a better first date or a better night, and this one has just started.

She'd wanted to give him the chance to pull away and take things slower. That deeper kiss is the best sort of reaction that she could have asked for. When he pulls her in closer, she slides her hand up into his hair at the back of his neck, wrapping him up in the kiss, in her. She opens her mouth to him, completely forgetting they're in a public place. She's not sure that she would care even if she did remember. Right now, she wants to be wrapped up in Cisco this way.

Oh, Zatanna. Honey. She's going to regret this in the morning, but everyone has to go through that at least once. Gracie certainly has back home. It's one of the reasons she doesn't drink much now.

Gracie laughs a little at the greeting. "I am the girl on the thing." She's happy to be recognized for her videos and she's amused at Zatanna in general. It's pretty obvious she's drunk. "He's been really nice to me,' she says in agreement.

"Oh! Sorry. I'm Gracie," she introduces herself. "I don't get dressed up much, but I hate the jumpsuits too. I'd rather wear fancy clothes too."

She nods a little. It makes her opinion of Alcide go even higher, that he would do something he didn't want for a friend.

Despite that, yeah. She'd been a little surprised as well. She smiles, ducking her head at his words then nods. "Yeah. That would be nice." On a whim, she goes up on her toes to brush a kiss against Alcide's cheek. "Thank you."

Her brow furrows as he tells her about his coffee awkward. "Do you want it to get to that point? Date point, I mean."
