daycycle 113

[Oct 23 - Oct 29]

[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]

[Specials can see a Specials Supporters Anonymous chat leaked onto the network in the wee small hours of the morning, here.]

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

Allison Argent and Peggy Carter, have been selected for today’s mission. Details are below:

‘There have been multiple reports of sightings of unregistered mutants near the south sewer entrance. Go investigate with caution.’

Please debrief the computer on the status of your mission by the end of the Daycycle here.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 2000 in Warehouse 97 in the R&D Sector and will be hosted by the Alpha Fight Club. Martial Arts and Boxing are skills all Alpha Citizens should have. Join us as we demonstrate how to get started and how to fight properly.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

To the normal eye, there's a delay in the way Matt turns to look at Natasha, and even a skilled fighter may not pick up on exactly what that simple tilt of the head could mean. Natasha, however, recognizes it instantly; he's listening. For the longest time, Clint Barton was the only person that Natasha would ever call a friend, and spending that much time with someone while also putting your life in their hands comes with a necessity to understand that person inside and out; strengths, ticks, disabilities, and everything that comes with them. Clint is deaf in one ear and she notices every time he tilts his head before he looks, as if trying to catch someone's voice from a certain angle. She doesn't know if this man is hard of hearing or not, but there's something there. That much she can tell.

"I may have a thing or two that I can share." She offers him a smile, and when he offers his hand she takes it, shaking it firmly. "Natasha Romanoff. It's nice to meet you, Matthew- wait," her brow pinches a little with recognition. "Matthew Murdock, of... Nelson and Murdock?"

He's listening with senses that aren't there, senses that he's so used to having that even all this time without them, he's still not used to it. The vision implants, by contrast, he's only had for a week or so. Who knows how long it will take him to start relying on those rather than on his hearing or his sense of smell.

There's obvious surprise in his expression when she gives her name. He blinks a bit. He didn't recognize her because he's never actually seen her before now. Her name though, that's instantly recognizable. He nods a little. "You've heard of us?" He assumes it's either the success of the Fisk case or the fail of the Frank Castle case. Nelson and Murdock is a very small firm.

"I think all of New York City has heard of you," she justifies with a slightly cocked eyebrow and a small smile. "With your take down of Fisk I doubt anyone in any of the boroughs would be confused as to who you are, Mister Murdock. You do good work." She notices his recognition of her name and that in and of itself is comforting; not because Natasha likes to be recognized. She doesn't. It's comforting because she's never met him before and the only way he would recognize her name is from back home - back in New York. Which means, he's accepted his 'glitches' as reality.

"So tell me," once her hand falls away Natasha places it on her hip, studying Matthew with a keen eye. "What is a lawyer from Hell's Kitchen trying to learn in a fight class?"

"Well, it had certainly resulted in an uptake in business," he responds. He's always slightly uncomfortable with the mention of that take down, but also really proud of the firm, of Karen and of Foggy. Of course, so much had gone wrong after that, but he tries not to focus on that here simply because there's nothing he can do about any of it. "Thank you. We're trying." And not always succeeding, but it's something that they're trying. He smiles a little at her. "You do too."

He takes a deep breath at her question and glances around the room. They're from the same world and though her agenda is a little more global and a little less localized, they've got the same ideas about powers and the responsibilities that come with them. His voice drops low because he hasn't told anyone else this, not here. "Have you heard of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen?"

He hopes that if she has, she understands what the devil is trying to do.
