Because, seriously, yesterday had sucked. Not as much as the day before that, but still. Tony can imagine how miserable Cisco must have been while healing from the burns throughout his body, and the memory of it is a trigger alone for him to want to build things to blow shit up. Because, hell, don't they get to at least shoot back at something for what had happened?

The freeze ray gains his attention, and he all but perks up at the mention of a triggering mechanism. "Need a hand with the triggering mechanism?" A freeze ray won't necessarily blow shit up the way he wants to, but it's something and Tony is just more or less craving to use anything that can shoot things at this point. "It's been a minute since I made one, but it's like riding a bike, right? Shouldn't be too hard. I used to do these in my sleep."

Almost literally, too, considering how many times he worked on those when he was running on fumes.
