Daycycle 110 [ October 2 - October 8]

daycycle 110

[Oct 2 - Oct 8]

Early, Early Morning [0400 - 0800]
Lydia Martin will be woken up at 0400 when a squad of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Samantha Groves for treason. Root will be led away at gun point and Lydia will be immediately taken into IntSec for questioning. She will be grilled for the next four hours on Root's activites and her own loyalty. She will not be released until the Early Morning briefing.

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

It is announced that there will be a mandatory ceremony for all Troubleshooters this evening in the Commissary. Not attending is treason.

There is no Mission assigned to any Specials Today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.

At 1200 explosives planted by the Frankenstien Destroyers will detonate in the Bot Processing division. The goal is to destroy as many bots as processing equipment as possible. These explosions will cause significant damage to the division and temporarily lock down part of R&D. Troubleshooters will be called to the scene to help clean up and assist citizens caught in the blast.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in the Commissary and will be hosted by Internal Security. This ceremony is to recognize the hard work and dedication of the Troubleshooters who have gone above and beyond in their service to Alpha Complex. The following specials will be promoted a clearance level for their work: Jillian Holtzmann, promoted to ORANGE for her work in explosives, Lydia Martin, promoted to YELLOW for her work in hygeine, and Matt Murdock, promoted to GREEN for his work in Personal Legal Defensive Practices. A mandatory round of clapping will be held for three minutes for each promotion.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Lunch on the Earlier Side, Closed to Peggy

[personal profile] a_man_out_of_time 2016-10-21 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
To say that Steve hasn’t been thinking about Peggy would have been a complete and unbelievable lie. Ever since he ran into her four days ago, he’s kept an eye out for her at meals and on his PDC. He’s thought about knocking on her door on the RED floor in the Wagon Wheel, but if she really doesn’t remember him, doing something like that would be incredibly startling.

And well. Steve doesn’t want that for Peg.

So today, it was day four of him looking for her at lunch. Steve barely eats in the Commissary anymore, but he comes here first before every meal, just to show the other Troubleshooters that he’s still one of them. If he doesn’t see her here in the next ten minutes, he’ll head back towards the elevator bank.

She noticed him as soon as she arrived, not because she was angled toward that entryway, or because he said anything to draw attention, but there seemed to be an odd hush in the commissary, a lowering of volume, a tingle in her spine. Three days since she'd been...restored...Four since their last encounter, and a part of her hadn't been sure that encounter had even been real.

Speaking her mind had never been the hard choice for her, but this wasn't entirely a matter of the mind.

A lot of it had to do with her heart.

Peggy glanced over her shoulder and spotted him in an instant. Today she would talk to him.

Today she would...

She truly didn't know, and that was the trouble.

If she were a coward, she could stay here, blending in with everyone else, head bent over her meal and pretend she'd never seen him, but she had never been a coward before and she wasn't going to start now. Peggy tossed the remains of her meal, carefully avoiding looking at Steve in the process. She had no idea why he was here, or what he was looking for, and yes, a part of her was still terribly uncertain over what exactly to say.

Steve doesn’t catch sight of her until he’s already turned around and about to head back upstairs. But then suddenly, there she was again.

If this was another time and place, his heart would have stopped from disbelief. But here, in the Alpha Complex, he just finds himself staring again. Especially since this time his nose wasn’t broken, and it finally gives Steve a chance to realize how long it’s been since he’s seen her like this.

Peggy Carter. Brilliant and beautiful. Not a day older than the old photo he used to keep of her.

She'd never been able to avoid his gaze, it wasn't any different now. Peggy glanced over at him and offered him what might qualify as a smile. She would not cry over this man again.

Not again.

At the very least not here.

She straightened her shoulders and moved past the tables and the nameless people eating with a frankly disturbing lack of awareness to the people around them. They appeared happy. It didn't make her feel much better. When she drew in front of Steve she stilled and tipped her head back to see his face clearly.

"Hello, Steve."

His head tilts as his eyebrows momentarily narrow. She’d called him Steve, but he doesn’t dare read too much into it. He’d practically introduced himself over and over again during their last interaction.

“Ma’am.” He nods his head down in respect. Even if she doesn’t really remember him, she’s at least from home. She won’t object to all the conventions that feel so natural to him — right?

“I was hopin’ to see you today. I wanted to know … how are you finding … things?”

It’s not his smoothest moment, if Steve had smooth moments, but something about it makes his lips curl up into a smile. The irony isn’t lost on him that even now, even when he remembers carrying her casket, seeing Peggy like this — it still gives him butterflies. It doesn’t even matter that he’s no longer that stumbling boy in the body of a man, trying to keep up with the new breadth of his own lungs. At least now, he has the self-awareness to find a certain comedy in his actions.

"Things are...satisfactory, I suppose." Things are not satisfactory, not by a long stretch of the mind. Things are decidedly odd and overly welcoming, and yet subtly disturbing, and Peggy, frankly, can't make up her mind about this place.

What she does understand is discretion is immensely important.

And she'd prefer that no one come near her mind ever again.

His demeanor has her on off footing and she folds her arms across her chest and gazes just past his ear. "I did wonder how long it would take for you to come and find me."

If Steve still has any doubts that somehow this wasn’t Peggy, but just another woman who looks like her that Steve has harassed with his self-introductions, the way she answers his question now wipes those out completely.

It’s the way she says satisfactory, in her accent, but also with her own subtle attitude. This was definitely Peggy Carter, and it pains Steve just a little that the Computer’s brought her here.

What she says next however, causes him to tilt his head and tighten the space between his eyebrows. “You … did? Peggy do you- remember me?”

It’s funny how quickly Steve switches from ma’am to Peggy as soon as he sees any hope that she might actually know who he is.

"I do. Steve, I-" Peggy ducks her head momentarily, steadies herself, then looks up, meeting his gaze. A blush is rising high on her cheeks. "I should have told you sooner."

He should not have needed seek her out. She should have gone to him as soon as she remembered anything at all.

"I suppose I was...frightened, to be honest. That you wouldn't want me to."

It’s like he’s never fully had to reckon with the idea that Peggy was real until this instant. Because she didn’t remember him, and because he remembers all the months he’s spent mourning her after she’d died.

He’d been expecting it, at the time. It wasn’t surprising, and she’d gone in her sleep, but even thinking about it again was bringing a blur to Steve’s eyes and he has to blink a few times to clear his vision.

And now she was here, and it’s tragic, because while she was real, she was simultaneously fake. Just like him. If there was anything that could convince Steve that they really were clones, this is it. The nail on the coffin.

“That I wouldn’t-?” He doesn’t know what to do with that information. “Peggy, why would you-“ But he doesn’t finish his sentence. This isn’t a conversation they should have here, in public.

“Did you eat already?” If not, he’ll bring her up to his apartment and cook them both something. If she has, he’ll take her to the Avengers headquarters. He wants to show her to begin with, but also, it was safer, than his assigned housing.
