At one point in her life, Buffy could understand that. Her circumstances had been very different from Katniss's, but the end result had been the same. Even in the days before she'd come here, years after her second death, Buffy had been hit with such a longing, such a desire to be finished when standing at the tops of tall buildings that sometimes she scared herself. She doesn't want the glitches to be fake. She needs those memories of the life she used to have to know who she is.
It's okay. Trust doesn't come easy in a situation like this. She remembers being fresh from Heaven, thinking that she'd dug her out of the ground into Hell. She hadn't trusted easily then either.
