He doesn't mind the surprise because it is Lydia, but it is disconcerting to know that someone is in your room and not know who it is. Gucci's footsteps let him in on the secret pretty quickly so no harm done and it's a fantastic surprise.

Honestly, it's pretty amazing what Root has been to do with the petbot thus far. Matt's confusion and wariness disappears when Lydia greets him. He relaxes and a smile curves his lips as he leans his cane against the wall near the door and takes his glasses off to put them on a small table.

As soon as she's close enough, his arms circle about her, head bowing for that kiss, anticipating it. "I'm going with the third one," he chuckles. He always goes hoping for information that he can use and rarely gets it, but it does give him some insight into the computer's 'thinking' process. He's determined the computer is insane. Funny how that seems to be a theme for AIs. Surprise paints his features again as Lydia explains why she's there, but this time it's a really good surprise. "I feel like I ought to ask how you got the jumpsuit and if it's safe, but I'm a little preoccupied by the idea of you not wearing the jumpsuit," he admits with a wicked little grin. His hands stray up over her back and her shoulders as if examining the jumpsuit for himself.
