Daycycle 102 [ August 7 - August 13]
daycycle 102
[Aug 7 - Aug 13]
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
There is no Mission assigned to any Specials today.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties, unless specifically assigned a different shift.
At 1200 today, a list of high-ranking non-registered mutants will be released to the public. These officials will scramble to account for their tardiness in registering to the Computer and will shortly after be assigned Troubleshooters as body guards against retaliating Anti-Mutant members. All assigned troubleshooters are to keep their charges alive until shift change at 0700 on Day 103, using whatever means necessary. Permission temporarily granted to travel to restricted areas within the clearance level of their charge. Both bodyguards should be present at all times with few exceptions.
Barry Allen & Jillian Holtzmann - Otto Vaska, Stasis - can suspend time briefly, INDIGO, Central Processing
Steve Rogers & Parker - Xeno Fane, Charm - can make people like them, BLUE, Production, Logistics & Commissary
Blue Sargent & Morgana - Priskilla Linos, Polymorphism - can shapeshift, BLUE, Housing, Planning & Development
Cisco Ramon & Stiles Stilinski - Gabi Aline, Adrenaline Control - can control adrenaline levels in others, BLUE, Technical Services
Root & Tony Stark - Sol Sisel, Desolidity - can walk through walls, INDIGO, Research & Development
[ Player note: Characters may notice that any mutant abilities they once possessed may have a very weak showing when in close proximity to Alpha mutants. Mission success or failure is up to the players.]
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1800 in the Commissary and will be hosted by the Alpha Chess Club. Come participate in the biggest (and only) Chess Tournament sanctioned by the Computer.
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

It's been awhile since he's seen Barry. He doesn't necessarily smile so much as his eyes light up with recognition and give the impression of a smile. Barry is a potential friend. And Adam doesn't make friends easily so it's a big deal for him to consider someone a potential friend.
"It's going okay." Adam says, picking up a tray. "It's been awhile. You okay?
no subject
He gives Adam a small smile. "I've been meaning to check in on you and Ronan and see how you're holding up." And also to make sure they haven't gotten into any trouble. He doesn't know them well, but he does know that Ronan is a little bit of a loose canon and Adam usually goes along for the ride. "Do you need anything?"
no subject
"I'm glad I didn't get babysitting duty." That's probably the first really good thing that's happened to him here, aside from having Ronan here.
And it means something to Adam that Barry asks about Ronan, that he would think to check in on them. Barry is definitely friend potential. "We're good. We've been... exploring." Getting into places they shouldn't and getting in trouble. Exploring is a good term for that. Much of that is Adam's fault though, not Ronan's. Adam's been gathering information, as much as he can, anywhere he can get it. Ronan's trouble making is of a different kind.
"What work do you do around here?" Adam asks him. That's his answer to if he needs anything. Gathering information, always. Maybe Barry can help him with something. Maybe not.
no subject
Barry grins and nods at Adam. "You have no idea."
Babysitting duty has been a major inconvenience so far. He may have been hoping that having access to INDIGO levels would be beneficial, but Vaska's been ordering the two of them around to do menial tasks and he hasn't had the chance to do much of anything but observe how much better living conditions are at that level.
"I hope you're being careful," Barry says, trying and failing not to sound too much like a parental figure. It's not as if Adam is that much younger than him, but he can't help but feel somewhat responsible for all the Specials, especially the younger ones. He can only imagine the things he would be getting up to if he hadn't already learned some lessons the hard way.
"They've got me in forensics. It's what I used to do back home. It's a little different here, but it does keep me pretty updated on the kind of crimes they have." He paused, weighing the tray in his hands. "You're in motor pool, right?"
no subject
Adam takes the concern in stride. People being concerned about him is a relatively new thing in his life. Their care isn't something he takes for granted. Being the opposite of careful is also something relatively new to him. If Barry sticks around he'll probably learn that about Adam too.
As it is, Adam just nods and makes no comment on being careful. Better to lie by omission than outright, at least until he's positive that Barry won't turn him in anywhere.
"Forensics? That's cool." He's already known that Barry is nice and kind of cute. He's also smart. That could come in handy eventually. "How do they apply that here?" What kind of forensics is there to do here?
He nods, knowing that motor pool is a far cry beneath forensics. That's okay though. He's trying not to let that inferiority he's so accustomed to creep back in. He's come a long way since that ruled his life. He isn't entirely home free of it yet though. He might never be. "Yeah, I'm good with... fixing things, working on the engines."
no subject
"Usually, it's used to track down people for petty crimes," Barry says, slightly embarrassed at how lame that sounds. "For those that actually have trials, we present what matches we have." The only useful thing they've been managed to do is help Matt get some people who were innocent off for their treason charges.
"That's a really good skill to have," Barry says, thinking momentarily of Wally. "Especially here where everything's slightly different. Have you learned anything interesting down there?"
no subject
At a table, he sets his tray down and hesitates in answering the last question. What Barry really is out to catch people doing things the Almighty Computer thinks they shouldn't? Adam doesn't get that impression from him, but the petty crime mention has his defenses up.
"Uhm... well..." He shrugs, deciding to play stupid in the moment at the very last second. "Some of the engineering is pretty high tech." He looks up to Barry, gauging his reaction.
no subject
"Yeah, kind of," Barry says, moving with him. He should be heading back upstairs with the meals he's obtained for himself and Holtz, but he's not quite ready to return to his assignment. Maybe just a few minutes more getting to know Adam.
"Well, kind of. Not all of them are really guilty. And if the ones that are..." He trails off, glancing around them for a moment before raising his eyebrows meaningfully. He and Lydia have a way of losing things that don't fit in with their own code of justice. It wasn't entirely ethical, but then again, neither was the computer.
"Yeah, I could see that," Barry says with a nod. "Has it been difficult figuring it out?"
no subject
He nods quickly so that Barry knows he gets it, kind of.
"There are some..." chinks in the armor? "Nothing's perfect. Not even technology." And that's what he's learned. He can work with (or against) the mechanics he sees. "I've figured a lot of it out. And I can... fix things." He can override their systems to an extent. He has before. He will again.
no subject
"That's great," he says with a small nod. "That will probably be really useful some day soon." Maybe sooner rather than later. They approach the part of the cafeteria where seating is divided by colors and Barry stops before stepping in the section painted RED.
He sighs and gives Adam an apologetic look. "I guess I should be getting back. Let me know if you guys need anything. Specials have to stick together, right?"
