It's pretty obvious that Holtzmann is fairly bewildered by this entire place, and she's taking everything in with wide eyes. For the most part she follows along and does what she's told, in fact in some ways she's incredibly co-operative - as long as none of those ways are sitting properly or keeping her feet off the table, and they can forget trying to get her to keep her workstation tidy at her new job, within about thirty seconds of her arriving it looks like a bomb's hit it (it's still not entirely clear that it didn't) but she seems to know exactly where everything is and gets on with her work quite happily, so there's no recriminations...yet...
She spends the day documenting, mentally, everything that she can find, going along with things has always been easier until she has an opportunity to take things in her own direction, and she's good at spotting those moments the envelope can be pushed, it's just that everything is so new here she has no idea what to make of it, exactly. She's a scientist, she'll form a conclusion once more data has become available.
