Daycycle Day 23 [ FEB 29-MAR 5]
[ FEB 29 - MAR 5 ]
MORNING
This morning even the most vehement of those Special haters seem to be preoccupied at the briefing. The whispers aren’t about the new arrivals but the opportunity to go to the surface. The Briefing Officer doesn’t waste any time in announcing those that were chosen. Out of the twelve Troubleshooters selected three specials, Tony Stark, Ray Palmer and Barry Allen, are named as part of the expedition. Some Troubleshooters seem disappointed while others look extremely relieved at not being named as part of the group. The expedition will set out at noon with a projected return time of 48 hours.
Troubleshooter Team: D. Grayson and R. Lynch
This particular mission is considered a high-clearance level despite being assigned to RED troubleshooters. Dick and Ronan will be selected for the mission and immediately led out of the Commissary in order to be told in private. They are to travel to Bingham’s Arms Emporium located on the outskirts of the Armed Forces sector. There they are to render the supervisor, Victor Bingham, unconscious and take him to one of the scrub bots located at Internal Security headquarters. They will be required to wear masks provided when obtaining the traitor in order to protect their identity from retaliation.
All other Troubleshooters: You are to report to your Service Firm positions for the day, until called on for Troubleshooter duty.
Intel: The word glitch has begun appearing on confession booths in the Technical Services sector.
AFTERNOON
At approximately 1400 a small explosion will occur in the R&D sector, causing it to be evacuated for the rest of the day. It is unknown what caused the explosion, but rumor has it that anyone introduced to the invisible gas in the area will begin to go into convulsions before losing consciousness. That will not stop some people from getting masks and searching the abandoned warehouses for products that will gain money on the black market.
At 2000 the Genuine Credit Opportunity Club will hold a special presentation in the Commissary for those interested in earning astonishing amounts of credits for minimal work. THIS IS NOT A TRIANGLE SCHEME. Sleeping gas will be expelled at 2100.
For Ronan and/or Ray
He's medicated differently while he's held overnight and something in him turns absolutely complacent. His nerves are soothed and he sleeps the night through. Breaking into the cloning facility seems like a distant nightmare. He shouldn't have done it. But he did. Why did he do it? He can't remember right now. He dreams of the interrogation, only this time the one asking the questions is Robert Parrish. Adam knows all too well how it will feel when those fists collide with his face, and eventually they do.
Adam wakes with a start and is set free. He goes numbly to the room he shares with Ronan Lynch and Ray Palmer. He can barely remember what happened, why he had been held and what the people had been asking him about. He's in trouble for something. Is Ronan in trouble too? Is Ray? Does he care? Yes. Yes, he should care. He makes himself care.
He steps into the room and looks blankly around. "Ronan? Ray?"
no subject
It wasn't so much the disappearing in the night that Ray worried about -- he can't be so hypocritical as to expect that no one else would take advantage of post-curfew privacy. It was that when he returned from his own escapades, it had been to an entirely empty room.
He'd though it had struck again: the Curse of the Palmer. He almost immediately deflates a little: "Are you OK?"
no subject
"I got Ronan in trouble." He says, because that's the gist of it, isn't it? He'd been questioned for hours, an attempt to get him to turn on Ronan. But he hadn't. And now everything is kind of fuzzy in his mind. Like he knows what happened, but he might have dreamed it.
Is is dad here? That had seemed so real. It's okay if he is. Everything is okay.
"I'm okay." He answers, right in line with his thought process. Everything is okay. All is well. All is as it should be. He even feels just a little bit... happy. Adam Parrish is not usually a happy person. And he kind of wants a drink. Beer makes him think of Robert Parrish. Alcohol makes him think of Ronan. "Ronan's probably okay too."
no subject
"You look like you need to sit down, come on. What's the last thing you remember?" Probably a lot of drugs, which is why Ray is doing his best border collie impression and trying to herd Adam toward a bed to sit.
no subject
He lets Ray guide him. "They wanted me to talk to them about Ronan. And the place where there are more of us." He explained. What was that word again? "Clones."
For Adam
Sleep isn't something that Ronan expects (though he should in this place because he's slept every night he's been here), but it comes for him and for the first time since arriving in this place he dreams; he dreams of night terrors and being ripped apart. He dreams of watching the night terrors rip into Gansey, Adam, Blue and Noah. He wakes with a muffled scream feeling like he didn't get any sleep at all. He's not in the least surprised when he's released (though he ought to be, oughtn't he?). He's completely surprised to find that despite getting into trouble and being detained, he's got a mission. The mission takes most of the day and it's evening before he returns to the room he shares with Adam and Ray.
When he does return, he's got a bottle of unidentified alcohol with him. The top is off and he's already had a couple of slugs of it. There's something dangerous and sharp-edged about Ronan tonight. In some ways, he's more Ronan than he's been since arriving. He's got a fuzzy memory of the interrogation, his crime and all of the events before waking up this morning. He doesn't realize that his sense of smell is dulled a bit and oh yeah, his skin has an orange tint to it.
A sharp grin cuts across Ronan's face when he sees Adam in the room. He should be feeling relief (and in some ways he is) but instead, he's feeling pleased to see Adam there and possessive somehow. He unzips his jumpsuit, shrugs it off and lets it hang around his waist. "You're okay," he says almost as if he's confused about why Adam wouldn't be okay. He takes another swig out of the bottle and holds it out to Adam as he approaches him.
no subject
He's sitting on his bed, staring intently at his hand, which, strangely, has an orange tint to it, when Ronan enters the room. Adam looks up and smiles. Yes, he actually smiles when he sees Ronan and the bottle he's carrying. Everything is okay. He's even, dare he say, happy.
Without even thinking about it twice Adam reaches out for the offered bottle and takes a healthy drink of it. It burns down his throat and he coughs. But he wants more. So he drinks more before handing the bottle back.
"I knew if I sat right here you'd find me." He says.
no subject
That smile is unusual, and some part of Ronan knows that, but most of him is just glad to see that Adam is okay and that he's happy. He should be happy, right?
That's unusual too, but Ronan dismisses it so easily. Adam is relaxed. It's been a good day for the both of them, hasn't it? Ronan takes the bottle back and flops down on Adam's bed.
"They sent me on a mission first thing this morning," Ronan explains. He couldn't be in trouble, could he? They'd sent him on a job. It was all good. He takes a gulp from the bottle and passes it back to Adam.
no subject
With that train of thought, the minute Ronan sits down on the bed with him, Adam gravitates toward him. He doesn't even think to try to keep his distance. He doesn't think it strange to want to be touching Ronan, to want to be near him. He links one of his arms with Ronan's and presses into his side.
"Was it dangerous? I'm glad you're back." Adam tells him. Words he would never say usually no matter how true they are. But right now he feels compelled to speak them. Ronan needs to hear them. "I'm glad you like me."
no subject
Ronan doesn't think it's weird for Adam to move close to him and he's certainly happy to have Adam close. He reaches up, his fingers going to stroke the inside of Adam's elbow then presses his knee against Adam's knee.
"Yeah, but it turned out okay. This guy named Dick was with me," he snickers a little. "Dude, I'm really freakin' glad to be back." He looks to Adam, his smile a bit less sharp, crooked and pulling at the corners of his lips. "Yeah and you like me too, right?"
no subject
Ronan is the best person he could be stuck here with. Ronan doesn't want to change him. Ronan accepts him just as he is. Ronan likes him in a way Adam has never been liked before. Adam likes Ronan too.
Which brings him to nod after a silly smirk at the name 'Dick'. He's sure Ronan had fun with that. But he admits now, as calmly as if he were talking about the weather. "Yeah, I like you. Don't get a big head about it, alright?"
no subject
Yeah, Ronan is going to go right back to hating this place with a passion. He'll probably also go right back to getting in trouble, because it's Ronan. Trouble is what he does. Ronan wouldn't mind have Gansey or Noah here to be honest, but that's mostly because his feelings for Adam are complicated. He's head over heels in love with Adam. The fact that Adam is a little confused about his own sexuality doesn't make that any easier. To add to it all, as far as Ronan is aware, his feelings for Adam are a secret.
Or maybe not so much now...Have a happy pill! Come out of the closet! Not that Ronan has ever really been in the closet, but his feelings for Adam definitely have.
Oh yes. Much fun was had. Over all though, he's a pretty cool guy. It's very clear, even before he says anything, as that cocky smirk spreads across Ronan's face that he's going to get a big head about it. He bites his bottom lip, pulling it through his teeth and staring at Adam's lips. "Can't promise that," he tells him. "Can't promise I won't kiss you either."
Yup. The pill is definitely having an effect on him.
no subject
It's a good feeling, having that secret, knowing that someone like Ronan likes someone like him. Adam has never had an ego before, that was beaten out of him a long time ago. But the day he'd figured out why Ronan looks at him that way, why Ronan reacts to him in certain ways, an ego had started budding in him in those secret places where no one was ever allowed to look.
Adam is wanted, desired even, by Ronan Lynch.
What Adam could do with that, well, he's never wanted to toy with it in case he might mess it up. On top of that, he's confused about how he feels about it. Except for right now when it seems like the best most natural thing in the world. He wants to analyze those feelings, explore them and see why they're there and what they are up close and personal.
"I'm probably not a very good kisser." The minute the words are out of his mouth he's wondering why he said them. He wants Ronan to kiss him. "So I might need a lot of practice and very little judgement."
no subject
Well, that's a relief. At least his attraction to Adam won't come as a complete surprise. Though, Ronan isn't entirely sure that Adam knows that Ronan likes guys. It's not something he and his friends ever discuss. Of course, the only girl they ever discuss is Blue. They're a different sort of boys more obsessed with Welsh Kings than girls. Of course he can't fathom why Ronan would be attracted to him, he's Adam Parrish and heaven forbid he think anything good about himself. Ronan understands why; he's met his dad.
Ronan has enough ego for both of them, but it would do Adam good to get a bit of an ego and Ronan is all too happy to be the source of that ego. He'll encourage it in Adam any time he catches a glimpse of it.
Most of the world would say that Adam could do better. Honestly, Ronan would be a pretty good boyfriend, but that's not the image he puts out there for everyone to see.
Adam is complicating things far more than they need to be complicated, but then Ronan is accustomed to Adam doing just that. He thinks that Adam's life has been so hard that he's automatically suspicious of anything that's not complicated.
Ronan smirks and shakes his head. "Shut up, Parrish," he tells him as he leans in and kisses him. The kiss doesn't start out exactly gentle, but it's hesitant, as if he expects Adam to shove him away at any moment (because he does). If Adam doesn't push him away or encourages him at all, he'll quickly deepen the kiss.
no subject
"Do you want me to go practice on someone else and then get back to you?" Adam asks teasingly... mostly. "Maybe-" Ronan tells him to shut up and then their lips are pressed together and Adam thinks this is probably the best practice he could ever have.
His shoulders relax and he melts into the kiss, feeling the way Ronan's lips play against his own and mimicking that as best he can until he's just doing what he wants, kissing, tasting, teasing. As Ronan deepens the kiss, Adam's lips part to allow it almost automatically. He doesn't overthink it in the moment, just lets it happen. Because he likes it. He likes how it makes him feel right now. He likes Ronan better than he likes anyone, really.
no subject
That doesn't even get a verbal response from him, just a look that says 'don't be stupid'. Ronan really doesn't want Adam to go practice on someone else. It'd been hard enough watching him date Blue. He only ever wants Adam to kiss him. They can practice together because Ronan doesn't have any experience either.
Ronan's hand goes to Adam's back, slipping up under his tee shirt so that his palm lies flat against his skin, urging and pulling him ever so slightly closer. Maybe later Ronan will think it weird that Adam didn't overthink this or that he was so accepting of it, but right now all he can think about is this kiss and getting closer to Adam.
no subject
Adam uses that as encouragement to move closer. Suddenly he's shifting, swinging one leg over Ronan's lap and settling there, face to face with Ronan, a little taller than him since he's up on his knees, leaning down and deepening the kiss.
Don't worry, Ronan. This is all the practice he ever needs. It feels right and natural to the point that he wonders why he didn't do it before now. His hands seek something to do and end up cradling Ronan's face. He isn't just being kissed anymore. He's kissing. And he likes it a lot.
no subject
That hand at his back is definitely encouragement to move closer. Ronan's head tilts up when Adam crawls into his lap, his eyes meeting his. There's a heat in his eyes, a desire that makes them darker blue than usual. He groans when Adam leans down and deepens the kiss.
Ronan has no fucking idea why Adam didn't do this earlier. He's got no damn idea why he didn't kiss Adam sooner (of course, it's because he wasn't sure how it would be received, but he's not thinking that right now). Ronan's hands stay on Adam's skin, sliding up underneath his shirt as far as he can then back down. He nips at Adam's bottom lip and relaxes a bit, basking in the way Adam is kissing him.
no subject
His fingers curl just a bit at either side of Ronan's face, holding him tighter, looking for some kind of tether to keep him in place. Maybe Ronan himself is a tether, he doesn't know.
"Why haven't we done that before?" He asks. "Why haven't you done that before. You're a good kisser."
no subject
When Adam curls his fingers holding Ronan closer, Ronan presses his hand at the small of Adam's back just a bit, a reassurance that he's not going anywhere. HIs other hand rests against Adam's hip.
At his words, Ronan's lips twist up into a sharp smile. "Fuck if I know. I've wanted to do that for fucking...months." he thinks about that just a moment before he speaks again. "Yeah?" he sounds delighted and a bit doubtful about that. "You too. S'not like you need any practice." At least not in Ronan's estimation.
no subject
"Too many clothes on." He says, reaching down suddenly to tug at Ronan's shirt, trying to pull it up and off. It's a sudden shift for which he has no explanation. He just knows he needs more.
no subject
"Fuck yes," Ronan agrees. He'd thought the same thing, but he hadn't wanted to voice it, still too afraid in part of scaring Adam off. Ronan helps him with his shirt then grabs the hem of Adam's shirt and starts to tug it over his head. "I need more of you," Ronan says as he dips his head to kiss Adam's skin as he exposes it by tugging his shirt off.
no subject
Adam lifts his arms, shirt easily coming off and tossed aside along with Ronan's, which leaves them both in those jumpsuits open and hanging at their hips. Adam is kissing Ronan again because he wants to, because he can, because Ronan isn't stopping him. Ronan isn't even stopping his hands as they slide over Ronan's body.
no subject
Ronan isn't going to stop Adam. He wants so badly to be kissed by Adam. He wants Adam to want to kiss him. He swears into the kiss, his hands sliding over Adam's back, fingertips gliding over the ridges of Adam's spine. He only breaks the kiss to dip his head and suck at the curve of Adam's neck, nipping lightly at his skin.
