Daycycle 18 [ JAN 26-30]

DAYCYCLE 18

[ JAN 26-30]

MORNING

Matt Farrell will be woken up at 0400 when a squad of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Jason Wilcox for treason.  He is led away at gunpoint and any requests for information will be denied by higher level officers, claiming it’s classified.  Any digging done outside of sanctioned channels will reveal that he was believed to have been stealing medical equipment and supplies.

There is a new briefing officer in place this morning.  She speaks in a sugary sweet voice and smiles often.  Rumor has it she was on the execution squad that finished of the worst traitors in Death Leopard.

Troubleshooter Team: Parker and R. Lynch

Mission:  These fine recruits need practice in small unit tactics.  You will each have a team of three recruits and will lead them as they are pitted against each other in small unit tactical skirmishes.  You’re units are to engage in three to five armed skirmishes against each other.  You will take note of each recruit’s accuracy, obedience and courage under fire.  Fill out these forms indicating each recruit’s performance and turn them in, along with surviving recruits, at the nearest Vulture Squadron barracks.  The Troubleshooter with the most survivors will be awarded a credit reward.

All other Troubleshooters:  You are to report to your Service Firm positions for the day, until called on for Troubleshooter duty.

Specials will remain in their temporary quarters until repairs are completed on their RED quarters.

1202 - S. Rogers - G. Maecenas

1203 - A. Hardison  - Parker

1204 - R.Palmer - B. Allen

1205 - D.Grayson - T. Stark

1206 - M. Farrell

1207 - S.Groves - L. Martin

1208 - P. Carter - A. Patterson

1209 - R. Lynch

Intel: Free Enterprise has begun manufacturing weapons for sale to the highest secret society bidders.  Any information about these weapons should be reported immediately.

AFTERNOON

There is a high-level game of PowerGolf being held this afternoon in the Tech Services sub-sector Delta with many BLUE and VIOLET clearance citizens.  The game will be broadcast across the Complex.  Rumor has it that Free Enterprise will offer any citizen the ability to place bets on the outcome.  Increased security is apparent and all RED Troubleshooters will be pulled to work crowd control and police the game.

EVENING

The Alpha City Library is hosting a special reading of it’s high-clearance level novels this evening in a desperate attempt to attract interest and sponsorship from the Alpha Complex masses.  The book chosen is so notoriously racy that it has been forbidden to most clearance levels for nearly a decade.  There is a small fee to attend, but drinks and food will be provided.

Sleep aid gas will be expelled into the barracks this evening at 2100.

Ronan looks to the right when she does, but doesn't see anything worth noticing. "First day," he tells her, though she probably already knows that or at least guesses that.

He smirks at that compliment (he considers it a compliment). "Yeah, I was born that way." Not entirely true. He's only been really cynical the last few years since his father was murdered. He's also not entirely cynical. At his heart, Ronan is the guy who believes in everything without wavering faith. He's Catholic (reasonably devout) and his position in his merry band of friends back home is the believer. He's always believed in Gansey's quest, even when it didn't make much sense to him.
avemachina: (and when I'm crying out)

Nobody will hold it against him for using cynicism as armor. Root herself has wielded it since she was a child, knows how tough a weapon it can be. And how tough it can be to let it go.

"Good to know." She's not sure how much more of the wide-eyed surprise she can take. People really do hear super-computer and expect it to play nice. Idiots.

"Interested in making some easy credits, Ronan?" She makes the question sound more like an inappropriate proposition than a request for innocent participation in some light cheating. His name, even, sounds like a curse word she's not supposed to say.
fictor: (What? [amused])

Back home, Ronan can dream things into existence (including people, cars and he assumes buildings). He speaks Latin with trees and often explores a magical forest. Evil computers won't get wide-eyed surprise out of him.

His eyebrows shoot up and he smirks. "Fuck yes." He likes the way she says his name and he fully realizes the inappropriate nature of the question.
avemachina: (form a salt)

A sharp smirk and such enthusiasm? Gosh, Root is the luckiest girl at the prom.

"If you can cause a disruption, I need 10 seconds of all eyes off the golf course." She needs to get close enough to the equipment-- alas, not all hacking is a remote event.

She's certainly found the right boy if she likes sharp smirks and enthusiasm for destruction. Proms though, not so much his thing. or girls

That sharp smirk turns into a thoroughly disturbing, sharp grin when she says she needs a distraction. "Gotcha," he says as he moves away from her side. At random, he picks someone in the midst of a crowd to punch.

For no reason at all. "Kiss my fucking ass, dickbag douche face!" He screams it at the top of his lungs, a big smile on his face. It's obvious Ronan is enjoying this.

And whether the person fights back or not, Ronan will continue hitting. If others don't get involved, he'll hit someone else. He'll make people get involved.
avemachina: (all things moist)

How colorful. As the disruption continues and guards rush past her, bumping into her Root "stumbles" onto the green, holding her modified PDC out in the air toward the golf balls. They start to move, rolling farther or closer to the hole depending on to whom they belong.

Once she's done, she heads into the fray to help Ronan.

"Troubleshooter business, Citizens-- please step back! Citizen Ronan Lynch, you've apprehended the suspect?" Now it's time to see if rough-and-tumble can play it smooth, too.
fictor: (Anger)

He does endeavor to be colorful (well, not consciously, but his language is that if anything).

If Ronan thought he liked Root before it's solidified when Root moves in to save his ass. He's not good at smooth, but he has had his ass saved often enough to recognize it and respond with something that's (he hopes) believable.

He throws one last (unnecessary) punch and then grabs the 'suspect' by the wrist, twisting his arm up behind him. "Oh yeah. He's apprehended," Ronan responds, looking to Root with a wild, feral grin. He's still enjoying this. It's also a little surreal. He's always been on the other end of this thing: the suspect being apprehended and forced into a police car. It's kind of novel.

Of course, later he'll realize that this makes him a dirty cop and he thinks he might be okay with that. He thinks he can be one of those anti-hero cops that works all the morally grey paths to meet a better end.

She could've done a better job: Troubleshooter Ronan Lynch next time. Hopefully there'll be a next time, because this sure has been a ride.

Root's head tilts, and she gives their poor sap a wink as he's shoved into a vehicle. Everyone's dirty in this place; as soon as someone starts to dig at him, something will come up.

"Job well done -- make sure you report your loyalty to the Computer. Oh, and check your account later." A voice still laced with tone far less appropriate than this situation calls for, she leaves Ronan with one last smile. "I'll give you a call next time I need a little fun."
