Daycycle 14 [ JAN 1-5 ]

DAYCYCLE 14

[ JAN 1 - 5 ]

MORNING

This morning begins with Ray Palmer and Jason Wilcox being woken up at 0400 when a squad of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Arty for treason.  He is led away at gunpoint and any requests for information will be denied.

Troubleshooter Team: Lydia Martin & Dick Grayson

Mission:  Proper and appropriate response to the regularly-scheduled fire drills has been in steady decline in the sector.  Citizens are not taking the drills seriously enough.  To help remind our sector residents that fire is no trivial matter, you are to ensure that each sector has a main corridor engulfed in flame today.  Proper authorization is being filed on your behalf.  The fire must be dangerous enough to motivate citizens to comply with the policy, but not do irreparable damage.

All other Troubleshooters:  You are to report to your Service Firm positions for the day, until called on for Troubleshooter duty.

Intel: Suspected Humanists are still being rounded up for interrogation and punishment for their attack on the Complex two days ago.  If you see anyone that you have reason to suspect as a Humanist, report them immediately.

Hate messages against the Specials have been spotted throughout the complex on various whiteboards and walls.  These consist of accusations that they are plants for The Computer, should be demoted to INFRARED and/or should be weeded out.  There is not enough evidence to prosecute anyone yet, but Specials should take extra precautions to stay safe.

AFTERNOON

The Complex will be hit with a string of fires that will ultimately affect each Sector/Service Firm and motivate citizens to take fire drills seriously.  However, as word of the fires gets around the Complex it is believed that Alpha has some arsonists on their hands.  Copy-cat fires are set as the day goes on, not controlled by the Troubleshooter team assigned to enforce fire drills.  These rapidly get out of control.

EVENING

As the fires get out of control, several volunteer fire brigades are put together to put out the flames.  The Wagon Wheel has not been exempt to these fires.  Rooms 1101 (Ray, Jason), 1102 (Matt, Tony, Root) and 1105 (Barry, Maecenas, Peggy) will have fires set in them while their residents are out.  Sprinklers will save the room from too much fire damage, but will do some damage of their own.  The worst of these fires in the living quarters will be in room 1201 (Steve, Bucky) where the sprinklers were sabotaged ahead of time.  By the end of the night Steve Rogers will be moved to 1202 and it will be determined that Bucky Barnes is missing in action.  He is believed to be alive and either on the run for setting the fires himself, or a victim of the escalating hate crimes being committed against Specials.

Sleep aid gas is expelled at 2100.

Afternoon | OTA

The problem with being a genius is that it's difficult to stay satisfied with simple tasks. Tony's job is supposed to be screwing the bolts in place on the bots, but that's hardly satisfying for him, especially when he can see just how far Alpha has and hasn't gotten with their technology. For the most part the designs are sleek and sophisticated, but the purposes of the bots seem so sedimentary considering the place is run by one big AI.

Then again, he's come to the conclusion that the big AI is heavy on the artificial and low on the intelligence. The coding that he's managed to get a glimpse of barely makes logical sense. And yet the security surrounding it and the secret service, it's set up to keep people in line are some of the most advanced he's seen. It's a challenge and it chips away at him as he chips away at the programming of the bots he's supposed to be putting together. It doesn't take him long before he is promoted from a bolt gun to the programmer. Though, of course, the bots he's programming are for domestic things rather than the high tech army boots two buildings over. But give him a break, he's only been here a few days.

Out of nowhere a skinny blond appears. As quickly as Parker appears, she disappears, because she's running like she's trying to break a world record.

There's no time to actually speak to any specific person, just shout the warning, "THEREISAFIREANDIT'SCOMINGTHISWAYRUNAWAY!" It really sound likes one word too, and once out of sight, she hits the fire alarm.

Tony barely has time to react to the appearance of the woman, let alone to try to decipher her yell before the fire alarm is blaring.

"No, wait!" He shouts, but it's to no avail as two seconds later his entire shop is being drenched in the sprinklers from overhead. There's the sound of sizzling electronics as various things short out around him.

Tony sighs and tosses his soldering iron to the side. Who the hell was that?

Right. Like Parker's going to wait for anyone she doesn't know.

He's had the warning. She's hit the alarm. If he wants to stay and get burned to death, it's not her problem. It's also likely by the time he's drenched, she's made it outside, away from potential fiery death.
