MORNING

Citizens of Alpha Complex are more than a little jumpy after yesterday’s attack on the parade.  Rumors are spreading like wildfire about which Secret Society group was behind the attack.  Internal Security is visible everywhere, asking citizens to show their ID and checking for illegal weapons.

The briefing officer seems to be in a particularly foul mood as she gathers all the Troubleshooter’s attention.  Anyone found to be insubordinate will be punished harshly.

Troubleshooter Team: Dick Grayson & Barry Allen

Mission:  The entirety of Troubleshooter team BSY-Four-Niner perished in action in your destination sector.  The team was testing an experimental self-motivated smart weapon.  Retrieve the weapon intact and bring it to the nearest R&D facility.  Act with extreme caution.

All other Troubleshooters:  You are to report to your Service Firm positions for the day, until called on for Troubleshooter duty.  

Intel:  An inside source says that the Illuminati didn’t have a direct hand in the attacks but might have been pulling the strings behind them.

 

AFTERNOON

It is determined by Internal Security by careful investigation and forensic evidence that the attackers were members of Death Leopard.  All known and suspected Death Leopard members will be arrested for extreme interrogation.

Hardison and Arty will find themselves also subject to these interrogation methods as it had been their job to detain and turn in any Death Leopard members the day prior to the attack and they failed to turn in any.  This is seen as being willing conspirators in the attack and as high treason.  They will be punished as Death Leopard members.  They will not be returning to the Wagon Wheel tonight.

EVENING

A special ceremony is held that evening in the Commissary honoring those that fought bravely during the attack.  Wounded garrison members are given medals of honor, including stand ins Ray Palmer and Matt Farrell.

Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are given Heroes of the Complex awards for their actions and promoted to ORANGE clearance level.

When the first one hits him, Steve actually has no idea what's happened. It's not like the little bunched up spit wad got stuck on him. It bounced right off. So as he stood there, trying not to look on the ground to investigate what just hit him, another splat hit him right on the cheek.

Projectiles he could handle. People hating him he could also handle. But at this moment, Steve had just one question.

Whatever it is, why is it wet? Maybe even a little soggy-

And then he put it together.

No one can pull an unreadable face like Parker. Since she fails at most normal human affects anyway, looking for signs she's spitballing Captain America would be fruitless. First of all, she doesn't feel the least bit guilty about it.

Secondly, she's really good at hiding things.

Thirdly, she has a lot of paper. Okay, that may have nothing to do with signs she's doing anything, but it's important to mention.

Bombs away!

He can't tell who's doing it, but he can tell what direction it always seems to be coming from. Whoever is doing this is always hitting his right side.

So Steve adjusts, taking a few discrete steps that put the man giving out the medals in-between him and this mysterious paper shooter.

The mysterious paper-shooter will take a break. As fun as it is, nothing is less fun than getting caught, unless money's destroyed and that's not less fun, that's painful.

If he ducks into range again, expect the spitballer to prove how good her aim is.
