Daycycle 122 [ January 15 - January 21]

daycycle 122

[Jan 15 - Jan 21]

[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]

Early, Early Morning [0200 - 0400]
At approximately 0200, several explosive devices planted in Technical Services by PURGE will detonate, damaging several memobanks. In a rush to prepare for the morning upload several Technicians will mistakenly put the wrong memories in the wrong banks. They will catch their mistake before the final upload, but as a result several memories will now be shared across different alpha citizens' consciousnesses. These memories will be experienced as dreams and characters will retain knowledge of them when they wake.

Memory Swap Pairs
  • Adam Parrish - Derek Hale
  • Zatanna Zatara - Oliver Queen
  • Steve Rogers - Ronan Lynch
  • Katniss Everdeen - Matt Murdock
  • Morgana LeFey - Tony Stark
  • Clint Barton - Allison Argent
  • Isabelle Lightwood - Lydia Martin
  • Buffy Summers - Barry Allen
  • Emma Swan - Parker
  • Cisco Ramon - Gracie Cannell
  • Natasha Romanoff - Jack Harkness
  • Primrose Everdeen - Alcide Herveaux

Room 1101 will be woken up at 1200 when a squadron of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Bucky Barnes for treason. He will be led away at gun point and his roommates, Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish and Oliver Queen will be immediately taken into IntSec for questioning. They will be questioned about the activities of their former roommate for several hours before being sedated and returned to their room before 0500. Bucky's roommates will not remember his arrest or their questioning when they wake, though they may feel the lingering active effects of the sedative for several hours into their day.

The memory of Bucky Barnes having ever been present in Alpha will be erased with varying degrees of success from all those he came into contact with.

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

No Specials will be selected for a mission today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties.

At 0900 it will be discovered that the shooter from Steve Roger's assassination attempt has, ironically, been assassinated along with her guards in Armed Forces the night before. The letters mod will be left written in the shooter's blood along her cell wall.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in the Commissary and will be overseen by Clint Barton. Izzy Lightwood from Medical Services has been assigned to assist him in giving a demonstration on basic first aid and wound care.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

He admits to having experienced similar and now it's Katniss' turn to crease her brow. They have a lot in common, sure, but that isn't a reason for both to have similarly eerie dreams. Katniss doesn't have any explanation for that. A lot of the strange disruptions in Alpha Complex are unlike anything she experienced in Panem. People don't have such similar dreams or experiences.

She closes her eyes when he rests his forehead against hers. Laying on the bed like this, it would be so easy to kiss him. That's her thought because the person in her dreams was a man and there had been a strange woman dying in his arms. As embarrassing as the stray thought is, it's a relief. Derek might be right about this being reality. And that she really is Katniss Everdeen.

"Did you dream that you were a man in a city, too?" she finally asks, unable to stop thinking about her nightmares. "Wearing a mask and fighting... other people, and beating them up so badly even if you don't believe in killing?"

She frowns again and opens her eyes to look at him. "Does that even make any sense?"

Shaking his head a little against her forehead, Derek hums a negative response. He's not even sure they're really having the same experience except that it seems like they must have done. The more he thinks about it, the less it feels like a disjointed and incomplete dream about something Isaac may or may not have actually told him back home and more like a memory. One that does not belong to him, at all.

"No wonder you're upset…" he whispers sympathetically, stroking her hair with one hand and giving her face a soft peppering of kisses to her nose, cheeks, and closed eyes. He'd be upset, too, if he wasn't used to that sort of thing and he was seeing it for the first time in a while, or at all. Though maybe it's not the first time she's seeing it or even the first time in a while, but she seeing it the way Derek saw his dream, in a way that felt like he was a part of it, maybe that's the unsettling part for Katniss.

Admittedly, what she's said doesn't really make sense, but at the same time, it does. He has a feeling she's wondering if the part where she dreamed she was someone else makes sense, and that part, weirdly does. It's the part about beating up someone badly while wearing a mask and preaching that he doesn't believe in killing that's the part Derek can't really wrap his head around. "Sort of yeah. Like the part where it feels less like a dream and more like something that happened to you? Because that, yeah. I get that."

It's the small, comforting things that Derek does which make Katniss cling to him. As tough as he can be when the situation calls of it, he also knows how to be utterly tender. He's one of the most comforting men that she's ever met and Katniss still doesn't understand why he's chosen her to protect. This is real, she reminds herself. Every touch and every light kiss are real. His physicality doesn't make her feel so bashful this morning. She needs it to ground herself.

"Exactly like that," Katniss murmurs softly, threading her fingers in his hair to keep his head close to hers. She needs to be this close to him right now. To take advantage of how much bigger he is than she is so that she can basically be engulfed in his presence. Maybe it's hiding from her troubles but it's better than actually falling apart. "I was someone else. Someone I don't even know. And I was living his memories. I don't like myself but..."

Does she really want to be someone else?

Since he'd had no actual intention of moving away from her, Derek just revels in the closeness they're sharing when she moves her fingers into his hair. He doesn't know what they are to one another — and maybe they don't need to be anything special — all he knows is that he likes her; he likes this feeling.

Her voice trails off and Derek's brow creases with concern at the words that come before it, but he doesn't try to change her mind or correct her. She doesn't like herself. Funny...he knows that feeling, too, and he wonders if she sees something in him that he can't, the same way he sees something in her that she can't. She must, or she wouldn't be wasting her time on him…

"But…?" he prompts her gently to finish.

She squirms against him when he prompts her to finish the statement. He must know exactly how they feel. There's so much that they have in common and oftentimes, Katniss suspects that self-loathing might be part of it. She understands part of it. The things that he's said. Katniss would hate herself too if she had lived parts of his life. But he's more than that. Otherwise she wouldn't be here right now. Why can't Derek say that?

"But," she begins, ducking her head under his chin and hiding her face against his chest. "I still don't want to be anyone else. I can barely survive being me."

Dipping his head down to nuzzle his nose against hers for a second before kissing her, Derek gives her a little squeeze when he feels her squirm a little. He gets the feeling that it's her way of telling him she doesn't want to answer and that's why she didn't in the first place, so he isn't going to force it by prodding again. But then she does answer and he pulls back a little to look down at her, stroking her hair against her head when he's not able to look her in the eye.

"Well, for what it's worth, I wouldn't want you to be anyone else, either," he says softly. "I like you as you. And I know that feeling, like you're always drowning in your own mistakes, but you're right. Being someone else wouldn't solve it. It wouldn't change the feeling." He pauses for a moment before continuing. "You don't have to be someone else just because you're stuck with parts of their life in your head, though. If that's even really what's happening to us. You're still Katniss. You're still you."

He's so good at comforting her. So, so good at this. The way he nuzzles her nose makes her shiver and if she hasn't already forgotten the dreams for the moment, his kiss succeeds in accomplish that. Every kiss seems like a surprise and this one is no different. Although it's brief, she kisses him back before hiding her head. Not that he lets her get away with that for long. She doesn't look at him when he pulls back a little but she knows that he's watching.

It probably isn't fair because his words make her smile and he deserves to see that. More than most people, Derek has to mean what he says because he's lived it too. Still, she doesn't look up until he's done speaking all together. Thankfully, the smile lingers. "I like you as you, too." She takes a deep breath, working up the energy and the confidence to say more. It isn't easy, especially after last night's dreams. "I know you're like me and I know you don't like yourself a lot of the time, but you're still a good man."

The smile on her face is enough to make Derek glad he's said what he's said and that he can be here for her like this. Katniss might think that she's a terrible person, but the fact of the matter is that they're here now, so whatever they were or weren't back home really doesn't matter anymore. This place is a nightmare, to be sure, but it's also a second chance to be whoever they want to be, not whoever they used to be. He's willing to give her the benefit of the doubt because he hopes she's doing the same for him and it doesn't seem like his hopes are unfounded.

"Well," he says softly before dipping his head to give her another chaste kiss before pulling back again to look her in the eyes, "just remember that I see you the way you see me and we might never see ourselves in the right light, but I suppose that's just life for people like us. You're a good woman, too, whether you agree with me or not." He knows because she tries so hard to be supportive of him even if she doesn't know what's going on completely. He knows because she doesn't take out her anger about this place on the innocent Alphas she has to work with every day. He knows because when he looks into her eyes, he doesn't see a monster.

"Come on, we gotta get up," he whispers, frowning. "We're going to be late to the morning briefing if we don't get up." He says that because he, at least, wants a shower to start off his day because maybe that'll wash away the dreams and start him fresh today. Derek presses his lips to her forehead before loosening his hold on her and sitting up. "Time to start another shitty day in the Alpha Complex."
