daycycle 122
[Jan 15 - Jan 21]
[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]
Early, Early Morning [0200 - 0400]
At approximately 0200, several explosive devices planted in Technical Services by PURGE will detonate, damaging several memobanks. In a rush to prepare for the morning upload several Technicians will mistakenly put the wrong memories in the wrong banks. They will catch their mistake before the final upload, but as a result several memories will now be shared across different alpha citizens' consciousnesses. These memories will be experienced as dreams and characters will retain knowledge of them when they wake.

Room 1101 will be woken up at 1200 when a squadron of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Bucky Barnes for treason. He will be led away at gun point and his roommates, Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish and Oliver Queen will be immediately taken into IntSec for questioning. They will be questioned about the activities of their former roommate for several hours before being sedated and returned to their room before 0500. Bucky's roommates will not remember his arrest or their questioning when they wake, though they may feel the lingering active effects of the sedative for several hours into their day.
The memory of Bucky Barnes having ever been present in Alpha will be erased with varying degrees of success from all those he came into contact with.
Early Morning [0800 - 0900] — All Troubleshooters Report for Duty
No Specials will be selected for a mission today.
Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600] — Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties.
At 0900 it will be discovered that the shooter from Steve Roger's assassination attempt has, ironically, been assassinated along with her guards in Armed Forces the night before. The letters mod will be left written in the shooter's blood along her cell wall.
Evening [1600 - 2200] — Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.
Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in the Commissary and will be overseen by Clint Barton. Izzy Lightwood from Medical Services has been assigned to assist him in giving a demonstration on basic first aid and wound care.
Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.
Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

"I know," she responds. She's really put out by it. Maybe if they'd been dating much longer, she would be annoyed. As it is...it's more a novelty that her boyfriend is a superhero in another world. When he holds out his arms, she moves to him without any hesitation, sitting down on his lap, slipping her shoes off, and pulling her feet up. She leans against him, curling up a little into him. Yeah, they were high on the coffee, but she hasn't ever thought that changed much about them, simply took away inhibitions. She puts one arm around his shoulders, her hand resting at the nape of his neck under his hair.
She does know; her stomach twists with anxiety as she waits for him to tell her what he saw. She smiles a little and it's a bit forced. "Oh no. You realized that until I came here, I still slept with a teddy bear?" Her voice is weak and the joking falls flat. However, it is true. She shakes her head a little. "You didn't ask to see memories without my permission anymore than I asked to see yours. The Computer should feel gross, not you."
no subject
The smile he gives in response to her joke is as weak as the one she's forced onto her face. It isn't funny and no matter how much they both tend to try to turn to humor in uncomfortable situations, it isn't going to work. Whatever the Computer was going for, it can't have been good and they both know it.
"I wish," he replies honestly and all pretenses of a smile fall away as he reaches a hand up to run through his hair. Clearing his throat, Cisco sighs. "I...saw a few things." He pauses as his hand falls back down to rest on her waist. "I saw Ethan's funeral…" He looks back at her with an expression caught between apologetic, sympathetic, and curious, because he isn't actually sure that what he saw was real, so much as he assumes it is, because apparently she knows about Vibe. Cisco's best guess is that this is a two-way street.
no subject
It's important they're both trying? Or maybe it's just endearing because they're both trying for each other. No, she's certain that the Computer didn't intend good to come out of this, and as much as she'd like to think it was a glitch, she's pretty sure it's not.
She fiddles with the ends of his hair while he talks, biting her bottom lip when he finally gets to what he saw. "If it helps, I don't remember many details. I didn't know what was going on. There was a car accident. Mom was driving. She looked over her shoulder to see why Ethan was crying in the back seat. She was fine and I think that made her feel more guilty."
She hesitates, not sure if she ought to ask him questions or talk to him about what she saw. "So...evil twin. Did you take care of him?"
no subject
Instead, he gives a little nod to acknowledge that he's heard her, and a little squeeze that he hopes is reassuring, before moving on to answer her question, eyes downcast and brow creased.
"He's dead," he says simply. "Zoom killed him. I kind of felt it, a little, in myself. It was weird. Maybe that was just a memory, too. I can remember things from different timelines...and I remember being killed by Reverse Flash the same way Zoom killed Reverb. In another timeline, obviously, since I'm alive. But...anyway. He's dead."
no subject
Ethan had been just over a year old; Gracie doubts there's any scenario that could make his death any less sad. On the other hand, it's been a part of Gracie's life for so long that it just is. Yes, there's a heaviness and a sadness associated with it, but it's not brain numbing, searing pain. It never had been for Gracie because by the time she'd been old enough to really deal with it, it was an old wound.
Just being around Cisco is reassuring. Having him squeeze her like that? Doubly so.
Her breath actually catches and she blinks a couple of times quickly at that. "Oh." Her brow furrows a bit. "Is it weird that makes me hurt a little, even though I think it was pretty obvious from what I dreamed that he was evil." He had still been a part of Cisco and he had actually felt it then wait..."Hold on. Rewind. You were killed?" Well that's a little panic inducing and her hand on his shoulder squeezes a little tighter, as if she can' assure herself of his living status by holding onto him.
no subject
He gives Gracie another little squeeze and smiles weakly. It doesn't reach his eyes. "I didn't die on this timeline. Right, so...there's an infinite number of timelines; every decision you make or thing you do can create a branch off into another timeline where you made a different choice or did a different thing."
Cisco clears his throat. "It's just that my...power, or whatever, I can like...remember things that happened to me in other timelines that I haven't and never will personally experience. And, in one timeline, someone killed me just like that. It was a nasty memory, but kind of like your memories in my head, it's there, but I never actually lived it, if that makes any sense."
no subject
Yeah, she notices the way it doesn't reach his eyes. That concern is still on her face. She moves one hand up to rest her palm against his cheek, the pad of her thumb stroking his cheekbone gently. Her brow furrows a little as she tries to follow what he's saying. Gracie isn't dumb by any means, but she's not a genius either.
"So it's kind of like that nightmare that hangs around, the one you can't really get out of your head." She knows that probably doesn't even begin to describe it.
no subject
Her assessment of the situation is simple, but accurate. Cisco nods. "Yeah, sort of. Like a nightmare that hangs around because it feels like you actually went through it at some point, even if you never actually did," he clarifies, because that part is important. He still remembers what it feels like to have his heart stopped when a speedster sticks his hand into his chest to do so. It hurts, by the way. A lot.
But the reality is that it never actually happened to this Cisco sitting here right now. Reverb, yes. Cisco in the other timeline, yes. But not this Cisco, so knowing exactly what it feels like creates a cognitive dissonance that's hard to shake sometimes. Gracie can't ever really understand it, but that's because neither can Cisco and without being able to understand it, he certainly can't explain it. "...are you okay?" he asks, lifting his head away from her hand to push a piece of hair behind her ear. He's used to weird. It doesn't get better, but it gets easier. Gracie's still new to all of this stuff.
no subject
"Oh, Baby," Gracie says quietly, moving in to slide her arms around him and hug him tightly. She really can't imagine how that feels at all, but she hates that Cisco knows how it feels, that he has that memory of being hurt even if he didn't experience it directly.
She pulls back from the hug and nods. "I mean...it's all weird, but it's sort of like...like I've fallen into some sort of book. I feel it, but it's not happening to me. Mostly, I'm just glad that you're okay and that you didn't have to experience anything too embarrassing like....my first hangover and the preceding drunkenness that went with it," she teases him.
no subject
"Right, yeah, that's what it's like for me, too, I get it," he replies, moving a hand to hold the side of her face. He smiles a bit at that. "Now that sounds more like the kind of memories I'd rather have gotten, though," he teases back affectionately.
He isn't joking, though; he'd rather something with a little more levity, honestly. But what's important is that she's not upset with him. At the situation, sure, that makes sense. But not at him. That's what matters.
no subject
She rolls her eyes at that, still smiling though. "Oh really? I'd offer to repeat those memories for your benefit, but I think you'll feel differently when you're the one holding my hair back," she laughs softly.
She does understand that. It would be nice to have the unimportant memories, the ones that don't shape you as a person. She knows he's not responsible for this. "Also, I've heard you do the naming. It's kind of your thing," she teases him.
no subject
A grin crosses his expression and he gives a nod meant to look humble when the smirk is clearly anything but. "I do. I do do the names; it is kind of my thing," he agrees. "I'm pretty proud of some of the ones I came up with, I mean...some of them are pretty freaking good, if you ask me. I'm just saying."
Cisco sighs a little. It's getting kind of late and they probably shouldn't stick around here for too much longer if they want to get back to their rooms before curfew. That'd be a pretty stupid ass thing to get arrested for, wouldn't it? Not being in their rooms by curfew? Totally lame. Cisco leans in and gives her a chaste little kiss. "We should probably get going soon..." he admits regretfully.
no subject
Oh, Gracie would much rather him have silly and embarrassing memories. Of course, she's sure they both would rather not have each other's memories at all. They'd rather share those memories with each other over time. On the bright side of things, if anyone had to get her memories she would have rather it be Cisco or maybe Alcide. She wonders if this really was a glitch or if there had been intent in giving these memories to other people. She doesn't like thinking that way, but it's become hard not to in this place.
"Mmmm. Now I'm just going to have to come up with a quiz for you. I'll throw powers at you and say 'give me a name'! In the most low pressure way possible, of course." She says it teasingly, choose to steer away from thoughts about intent and glitches. She'd rather just enjoy this moment.
It would be a totally stupid thing to get arrested for. She returns the kiss, sighing and nodding. Yeah, they probably should. "Upside of us both being stuck in this color, which you wear a lot better than I do. You can walk me to my room."
With that said, she slips off his lap and holds her hand out to him. She's always glad that she's met Cisco and that he likes her the way he does, but it's on days like this that she's truly grateful for it and she realizes how much having him here makes this place better for her.
