Daycycle 122 [ January 15 - January 21]

daycycle 122

[Jan 15 - Jan 21]

[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]

Early, Early Morning [0200 - 0400]
At approximately 0200, several explosive devices planted in Technical Services by PURGE will detonate, damaging several memobanks. In a rush to prepare for the morning upload several Technicians will mistakenly put the wrong memories in the wrong banks. They will catch their mistake before the final upload, but as a result several memories will now be shared across different alpha citizens' consciousnesses. These memories will be experienced as dreams and characters will retain knowledge of them when they wake.

Memory Swap Pairs
  • Adam Parrish - Derek Hale
  • Zatanna Zatara - Oliver Queen
  • Steve Rogers - Ronan Lynch
  • Katniss Everdeen - Matt Murdock
  • Morgana LeFey - Tony Stark
  • Clint Barton - Allison Argent
  • Isabelle Lightwood - Lydia Martin
  • Buffy Summers - Barry Allen
  • Emma Swan - Parker
  • Cisco Ramon - Gracie Cannell
  • Natasha Romanoff - Jack Harkness
  • Primrose Everdeen - Alcide Herveaux

Room 1101 will be woken up at 1200 when a squadron of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Bucky Barnes for treason. He will be led away at gun point and his roommates, Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish and Oliver Queen will be immediately taken into IntSec for questioning. They will be questioned about the activities of their former roommate for several hours before being sedated and returned to their room before 0500. Bucky's roommates will not remember his arrest or their questioning when they wake, though they may feel the lingering active effects of the sedative for several hours into their day.

The memory of Bucky Barnes having ever been present in Alpha will be erased with varying degrees of success from all those he came into contact with.

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

No Specials will be selected for a mission today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties.

At 0900 it will be discovered that the shooter from Steve Roger's assassination attempt has, ironically, been assassinated along with her guards in Armed Forces the night before. The letters mod will be left written in the shooter's blood along her cell wall.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in the Commissary and will be overseen by Clint Barton. Izzy Lightwood from Medical Services has been assigned to assist him in giving a demonstration on basic first aid and wound care.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Morning: OTA

To say that Barry is unsettled by the dreams he's had about Buffy's life and Natasha's would be an understatement. Buffy's managed to throw open the door on a grief that still feels all too real and fresh, even here in Alpha, that he's tried desperately to close since waking up with those memories from home. And Natasha's.. well, he doesn't even know where to start in describing how her memories had made him feel. No one should've had to go through what she went through, especially as a child. It feels wrong that he's seen that far into her past and her mind, especially since he gets the distinct impression it's not something that she would share freely with anyone, especially him.

In the morning he heads down to the commissary for his usual routine of getting coffee - it's growing on him, other than that whole drug incident - and reporting for the morning debriefing. He's relieved when no one is selected for a mission.

He heads up to his quiet office in IntSec only to find out shortly after that Steve's would-be assassin has been assassinated herself. He's not surprised that Steve has sent for him, though he also thinks this is the perfect opportunity to get Izzy to help him.

Mid-Morning; Closed to Izzy
He hasn't really been to Technical Services much, unless it's to see a friend who has been hospitalized. He gets the vague impression that he used to come here more often for another reason, but why keeps slipping through his mind's fingers. It doesn't take long to get directions to Izzy's office and after walking down a long hallway that seems to isolate itself from the rest of the building, Barry knocks on the door before opening it slowly. He gives Izzy a small wave in greeting, but hangs back for permission before entering completely.

Afternoon; OTA

The good thing about his job is that he's able to travel through Alpha with little supervision. While he's still blocked from most higher clearances, his forensics case manages to get him through most doors where he may not have been allowed without IntSec on his side.

He's at the museum today, looking at the historical pieces on display and asking if there have been any recent robberies. He's still on the hunt for the origin of the watch that was used in Matt's bombing. Now that the only potential source of answers is dead, he's going to have to rely solely on old fashioned detective work. He spends most of the day there interviewing the curators and taking a written inventory of the pieces they do have for his own reference.

When he's done he heads to one of the subsectors with specialty shops and does some more questioning around there, specifically how easy it would be to get a watch on the black market. He gets the distinct feeling that he may have asked too many questions however, when two guys begin following him down the street.

"Great," he mutters under his breath as he ducks into the nearest shop.

Evening; Closed to Dick
He forgoes the Citizen Improvement activity, though he is glad that someone has taken the initiative to have a much needed class on first aid and wound care. He can't help but think a lot of Alpha citizens seem to think that they are suited only to the jobs they were assigned by the computer.

He heads down to HQ to go over the notes he's taken throughout the day. He only has about an hour or so before he has to return to the Wagon Wheel, but he is absolutely sick of his office and doesn't want to be a bother to his roommate. He moves through the door, heading over to the corner to do his usual scan to make sure their hiding place hasn't been compromised when he realizes that he's not the only one there.

"Hey..." he stops, realizing that he doesn't know the person sitting on the couch. Ordinarily he would assume that they were a newly arrived Special, but usually they know about new people right away. And with recent events, now is not the time to be anything but careful. He sets down his case. "Who are you?"

Barry & Izzy

[personal profile] withstyle 2017-01-19 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Memories are a pretty fickle thing. Izzy's had them taken from her before, well...one taken before, but it was an active choice...something that she knew was happening. What happened last night, though, while she slept is completely new. She's never been linked up to someone elses memories, let alone in the very real and visceral way that she got assaulted with Lydia's. And the screwed up thing is that she knows they're Lydia's without a shadow of a doubt. By the angel, things just keep getting more complicated in this place with the computer and all of it. It's strange to know something about the other woman that she has no clue about, and it's not that Izzy is planning to keep the redhead in the dark either.

She just doesn't know when she'll bring it up, or how just yet.

For now, though, compartmentalizing is the answer for the petite shadowhunter. She's actually better at that than most, or at least...she's going to give herself the credit for it at the moment. Instead, Izzy's focusing on work and thinking ahead to what she has to do later this evening for Citizen Improvement. The office Izzy works in off of the morgue is tidy, and Izzy's done everything possible to keep her own work from piling up. She's leaning over an open file at the moment, scribbling quickly just before her head jerks upward at the sound disrupting the silence. "Barry!" A smile spreads across the petite woman's face immediately as she sets the pen down and gestures for him to come in as she pops up out of her chair and around her desk. "Come on in, don't just stand there. You're always welcome in here."

She hasn't forgotten her offer to help him out as needed, obviously, but it's also just nice to have a visitor to break up the silence that things lapse into more often than not. Not many people make their way into the morgue and it's adjacent areas, all that often, after all. The question is whether this is a professional call, or whether it's a friendly one. So, Izzy can't help but let the question spill out of her mouth. "What brings you by?"

Despite the circumstances of his visit, he smiles at her warm greeting. He doesn't know Izzy well, but she's been a breath of fresh air when he's been overwhelmed with work and he appreciates her wanting to help. He glances around at her office, noting the tidyness in direct comparison to the mess his own office is in at the moment.

"So this is where all the medical magic happens, huh?" he asks, shutting the door behind him and hovering near the doorway. He's not bothered by the morgue. He's seen his share of dead bodies on the job and has enough of a scientific mind not to be superstitious.

At her question his expression shifts slightly into something more somber. "I don't know if you've heard but Steve's attacker was killed last night. He wants me to investigate and I thought if you were still willing to help this might be more your specialty than mine."

Izzy can't help but be welcoming, when it comes to her space. Honestly, she's so used to the fact that most people don't even bother to come down here that it's a rare thing for her. Even back home, with the Institute, a limited number of people would bother coming down to her lab; then again, dead bodies don't tend to make people happy, obviously. Watching her friend, even if they don't know one another extremely well, take a look around, Izzy can't help but grin a bit. She remembers his own office, and knows that everyone works in different ways.

Sterile and tidy, though, are the way that she learned when she was becoming what she is now. She likes to be able to control what she can. She likes to be in charge. Nodding, automatically, Izzy gives a joking gesture. "My part of it, anyway. Particularly the paperwork part." Izzy jokes, even though it doesn't escape the petite woman's notice that Barry's hovering near the door, but she's not sure if the area of the hospital makes him nervous, or if he's anxious for another reason. Either way, she remains where she is, her hands finding her desk as she gives her current guest her complete attention.

Her demeanor shifts very quickly, though, and Iz shakes her head. "I hadn't heard yet. I must have just been distracted." The guilt hits her instantly; she was worried about strange...memories of a certain redhead and someone was killed. The body definitely hadn't come into the morgue yet, though, that Izzy's sure she wouldn't have missed. Either way, she nods again. "I'm all your's, whatever I can do to help the investigation, you've got it." There's no sense of hesitation in her tone, or in her words because even if she didn't choose to be here she's definitely going to do what feels right to her until she gets out of this place. And that means doing what she can to help.

"You may not know this about me yet, but I don't change my mind, usually, when I've made it up." Izzy shares, confidently.

Afternoon

The only thing worse than having a nightmare is having a nightmare that isn't your own.

The moment Natasha opened her eyes she knew that whatever she saw, it wasn't a dream. The way that it felt was too raw, too real, and she knows what it's like inside of her own head well enough to be able to differentiate between what's her own and what isn't. Wanda was nice enough to help her with that against her will.

She had visions, some of Jack, and some of Barry, who she now almost feels bad for teasing. She noted his bravery the day that he stayed back to fight with her and she got shot for him, but she chalked it up to him being a strong guy with a babyface. Turns out that it goes a little deeper than that, and although his particular ability is something that's still fairly new to her it's still something that she can understand; he reminds of of Pietro, in so many ways.

Seeing him like that, hate and tears; it makes her take him a little more seriously. Before he was just a reckless idiot with a good heart, but now she knows; that certainly wasn't his first battle. Her shoulder wound wasn't the worst thing he's ever seen, either.

She's planning on avoiding him throughout the day until there's whispers crawling through Free Enterprise that some moron is asking too many questions, and once someone identifies him as Barry Allen, Natasha has no choice but to go save him once again. It isn't hard to find him, all she has to do is track the two goons that were sent to question him in the first place, and by the time she spots the three of them she can see that the two FE 'associates' are quickly closing in. Before they manage to grab him and drag him into the next alley, however, Natasha catches up until she's striding behind them and she snaps her fingers once to get their attention.

"Leave. I've got this." They exchange glances with one another and although Nat has done a well enough job so far playing the defenseless small female card, she really doesn't have the patience for it today. She snaps coldly. "Did I stutter? Move out of my way." They don't move as much as they just stop walking, letting her walk past them to catch up to Barry herself before she grabs the man's wrist and drags him into the alleyway; a known blindspot to the cameras. She pushes him up against a wall with surprising strength, glancing around once to make sure they're alone before she finally lets go of him and meets his eyes.

God, he even looks different, after what she saw.

"Didn't anybody tell you not to ask questions that you don't want the answers to? We really have to stop meeting like this, if I get shot for you again I will not be a happy camper." Just because she knows certainly doesn't mean he's going to get special treatment. After a moment, the annoyance in her eyes fades away and she glances over him once. "You alright?"

Fine. A touch of special treatment, but only this once.

He thinks the coast is clear, but no sooner than he sets foot outside of the shop he ducked into, someone's grabbed his wrist and pulled him into an alleyway. He blinks, suddenly finding himself being pushed into an alley wall by none other than Natasha Romanoff. For a split second his brain shuts down at the ridiculous thought that she's going to kiss him and all he can do is stare at her as she lays into him.

Then, her words catch up with the movement of her lips and he drags his eyes up to meet hers, just in time to see her look him over as if she's checking him for some kind of damage. He swallows, trying to force his brain into working again.

"Uh, no. I mean, no one told me that." It's not a great start. He tries to pull himself together, attempting to shrug off her hold. "I'm trying to find out where the bomber got the watch."

There, that was a little more coherent. He glances towards the opening of the alley. "Free Enterprise is following me." Though, he is pretty sure she knows that already. The memories from last night come to mind and he has to look away from her. It's too raw. Too real. And he shouldn't know about it, but he does.

"I'm fine. Are you?"

It isn't until Natasha is looking back at him that she realizes his eyes aren't on hers, and when he finally looks up from her mouth she's giving him a disapproving glare that conveys her thoughts; she knows where he was looking and can he really be thinking about something that silly at a time like this? It's as far as she goes, though, choosing his safety over teasing him. For now. "Why?" She snaps the question with abrasive impatience, as if his searching for the watch source is somehow putting a kink in her day, because it is. "What are you, Allen, a detective? I hope not, because you suck at it. Yeah, no shit," she adds the last part when he says that he thinks he's being followed, and she looks at the mouth of the alleyway like the mentioning of it reminded her.

"Come on, move." She doesn't wait and instead manhandles him further, grabbing his shoulder and pulling him off of the wall to try and tug him to walk down the rest of the alley with her. It's probably a comical sight to any outside witness, a five foot six inch redhead forcefully moving a man who's at least half a foot taller than her, but she does it with ease. Not only has Barry put himself at risk with Free Enterprise, but now her cover is at risk, and she's worked much too hard to involve herself in this world just for some babyfaced superhero to swoop in and mess it all up. That's happened more than enough in her life, thank you very much.

"We need to get ourselves out on a public street, I can shake them there." She's speaking as if they're still being followed despite the fact that the men fell back at her order, but Natasha isn't naive. She knows well enough to know that Free Enterprise has eyes everywhere, sometimes even where the Computer doesn't. A part of her wants to tell him what she saw, because he deserves to know, but another part of her is almost fearful to do so. There aren't many things that can make Natasha Romanoff hesitate but privacy is one of them; privacy is sacred. What's more private than one's own memory and past? "What do you think you'll be able to accomplish, finding out where that watch came from?" She doesn't sound condescending anymore, her tone taking a turn for investigative curiosity. Barry isn't a stupid guy - she's getting the feeling that it's quite the contrary to that, actually - and she wants to know just how successful he's been.

It's rare, lately, that he even ventures into the specials HQ, but without Steve dropping by he's getting even more starved for company than usual, so he forces himself to spend a little time in the evening hanging out where, hopefully, a friend or two will turn up that he can talk to.

He's surprised to see Barry and for a second the confused look the other man gives him doesn't even register.

"Barry, man! It's been so long, where have you been? I have so much to -" he stops, his brain catching up with his ears and he suddenly takes note of a few things he missed before. He's already standing up but he hesitates, not wanting to continue crossing the room to see his friend, suddenly on the defensive. Barry has been gone for a long time, what did they do to him?

"...It's me, it's Dick. Come on, don't tell me you don't remember me," he keeps it light, joking, but there's worry in his eyes as he searches Barry's face for any sign of recognition.
runsonwater: (85)

[personal profile] runsonwater 2017-01-26 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
He knows his name. This kid - because he's just a kid - knows his name and is talking to him like he should know his. Barry's brow wrinkles in confusion as he stares at the dark haired boy in front of him.

"Dick?" He's pretty sure he'd remember a name like that and yet he keeps coming up blank. Barry takes a step forward, setting down his forensics case. "Have we met?"
utilitybelted: (Default)

[personal profile] utilitybelted 2017-01-26 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)

"Wow, that's harsh," Dick jokes, but honestly he's worried. Had anything happened to Barry in the couple of weeks since they last spoke? Or had Barry genuinely just forgotten him? He's pretty sure someone would have mentioned it if anything was off, but then he hadn't really spoken to anyone in a few days, so it's entirely possible he could have missed it...

"Yea, we've met. A few times, actually... you're Barry, you're the Flash, come on... I'm Dick, Robin, that doesn't ring any bells at all?"

runsonwater: (Default)

[personal profile] runsonwater 2017-01-26 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)

The Flash. Barry almost recoils at the fact that this stranger knows that much about him. He swallows, trying and failing to hide the surprise in his voice. "How do you know I'm the Flash?"

But it's obvious from the way the kid is looking at him that he expects Barry to remember him as well. And the fact that he's down here and looks right at home says that he - at least - believes that he belongs there. Barry takes another step forward.

"I don't remember you," he says. But the Computer has been messing with their memories. "How long have you been here?"

utilitybelted: (Default)

[personal profile] utilitybelted 2017-01-26 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)

"That's a complicated one," Dick grins ruefully, if Barry didn't remember him at all then explaining that he knew a different Barry Allen who happened to be the Flash might take a bit long, and he'd rather put the effort into reminding Barry of who he was. If that was even a good idea, what if something had happened and Barry would turn him in? This whole place gave him a headache sometimes.

"How long? About four months, give or take?" as near as he could tell he'd been here for as long as just about anybody.
