daycycle 122

[Jan 15 - Jan 21]

[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]

Early, Early Morning [0200 - 0400]
At approximately 0200, several explosive devices planted in Technical Services by PURGE will detonate, damaging several memobanks. In a rush to prepare for the morning upload several Technicians will mistakenly put the wrong memories in the wrong banks. They will catch their mistake before the final upload, but as a result several memories will now be shared across different alpha citizens' consciousnesses. These memories will be experienced as dreams and characters will retain knowledge of them when they wake.

Memory Swap Pairs
  • Adam Parrish - Derek Hale
  • Zatanna Zatara - Oliver Queen
  • Steve Rogers - Ronan Lynch
  • Katniss Everdeen - Matt Murdock
  • Morgana LeFey - Tony Stark
  • Clint Barton - Allison Argent
  • Isabelle Lightwood - Lydia Martin
  • Buffy Summers - Barry Allen
  • Emma Swan - Parker
  • Cisco Ramon - Gracie Cannell
  • Natasha Romanoff - Jack Harkness
  • Primrose Everdeen - Alcide Herveaux

Room 1101 will be woken up at 1200 when a squadron of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Bucky Barnes for treason. He will be led away at gun point and his roommates, Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish and Oliver Queen will be immediately taken into IntSec for questioning. They will be questioned about the activities of their former roommate for several hours before being sedated and returned to their room before 0500. Bucky's roommates will not remember his arrest or their questioning when they wake, though they may feel the lingering active effects of the sedative for several hours into their day.

The memory of Bucky Barnes having ever been present in Alpha will be erased with varying degrees of success from all those he came into contact with.

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

No Specials will be selected for a mission today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties.

At 0900 it will be discovered that the shooter from Steve Roger's assassination attempt has, ironically, been assassinated along with her guards in Armed Forces the night before. The letters mod will be left written in the shooter's blood along her cell wall.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in the Commissary and will be overseen by Clint Barton. Izzy Lightwood from Medical Services has been assigned to assist him in giving a demonstration on basic first aid and wound care.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

Strangely enough, the dreams aren't that odd. He keeps meaning to get a gas mask so that he can bypass the effects of the sleeping gas, but there are some days when he almost welcomes a switch to turn off his brain. He's been dreaming about Felicity lately. He never quite remembers entirely what the dreams are about, but he wakes up feeling as if she's present in Alpha with him. It makes him both miss her and grateful that she's not stuck here with the rest of them. Especially now that things are getting steadily more dangerous for the Specials who are here.

This morning, however, he wakes up overwhelmed with grief and clear memories of his dreams. He's aware that they weren't his own, though he's not entirely sure how. This feels like some kind of strange and unexplainable deja vu. Not the dreams themselves, however. They replay through his mind as he slowly gets ready for his day. Buffy's grief over her mother's death hits him the hardest. He knows all too well what it feels like to have your world fall apart that way. It brings up memories and thoughts that he's tried very hard to push back.

He makes his way to the commissary and keeps his eyes open for a particular petite blonde. He spots her by the coffee and makes his way over to her, grabbing a cup and getting ready to pour himself some of the sludge.

He has no idea what he's going to say, or what he can say, but when he actually catches her eye, he feels his stomach sink. Instead of the greeting that was on the tip of his lips, he lets out a tired sounding. "You too?"

The nice thing about having a gas mask is that you can choose how much of and how often you take advantage (so to speak) of the sleep gas. She definitely welcomes having her brain turned off from time to time. Honestly, Buffy feels the same way about Dawn not being here. She can't protect her properly and things are far too dangerous. She misses her sister so much, but she's glad she's not here.

That had been the hardest part of his dreams for her as well: that shared loss of a parent. She knows that grief and she'd felt it in his dream. It had opened the floodgates on her grief over her own mother's death. It's weird: losing a parent is something you think you'll get over, but it never really happens.

The commissary is going to be Buffy's home base from now until all the Speicals and Alphas thing settles. At first, she doesn't notice that it's Barry next to her; it's just some random person getting coffee, but after a second she notices and her eyes go a little wide. She's not sure if she's supposed to apologize for seeing those dreams, or for his loss or just pretend that she didn't see any of it.

When he speaks, it's actually a relief. She nods, one corner of her mouth turning down in a frown for a second. "Yeah. I'm---it sucks. I'm sorry." About everything: what she saw, his loss, the suckage of life.

If she was just talking about the fact that they've had their most private memories seen by each other, that would probably be enough, but there's something about the way that she says it that makes him realize that he doesn't know what she's seen. He only knows what he saw and that was more than enough to let him know that Buffy was a metahuman in her own life. That and she knew what it felt like to lose a mother.

"Me too," he says, searching her face for some more clues. He feels vaguely dirty about having seen her memories, though he also has a new level of concern and curiosity about her. "Can I--" He hesitates. "What did you see?"

That loss of power is definitely another thing they have in common. She knows what it's like to be less, to know that if those powers were restored, you could do more here. She'd worry less about not stepping outside of the lines here with her power because it would be that much harder for anyone to stop her. She knows Barry not only lost his father, but his powers (when he came here) and that creates another thing they have in common. It also makes her wonder how many de-powered people are here. She knows of Alcide and Derek, now Barry.

She nods a little at his question. "Of course. They're your memories." She takes a deep breath. "When you lost your father...I know about the whole..." her brow furrows a little, "speeder? Flasher? Not..I mean obviously you weren't speeding around town flashing people...that was not--or if you were...are...that's not the thing that I saw...not that I saw your thi---" She literally smacks her hand over her mouth for a second. "Sorry. That happens sometimes. Mouth, brain, meet foot. Whatever. Yeah..."
