Daycycle 122 [ January 15 - January 21]

daycycle 122

[Jan 15 - Jan 21]

[OOC Plotting for this Dacycle can be found here.]

Early, Early Morning [0200 - 0400]
At approximately 0200, several explosive devices planted in Technical Services by PURGE will detonate, damaging several memobanks. In a rush to prepare for the morning upload several Technicians will mistakenly put the wrong memories in the wrong banks. They will catch their mistake before the final upload, but as a result several memories will now be shared across different alpha citizens' consciousnesses. These memories will be experienced as dreams and characters will retain knowledge of them when they wake.

Memory Swap Pairs
  • Adam Parrish - Derek Hale
  • Zatanna Zatara - Oliver Queen
  • Steve Rogers - Ronan Lynch
  • Katniss Everdeen - Matt Murdock
  • Morgana LeFey - Tony Stark
  • Clint Barton - Allison Argent
  • Isabelle Lightwood - Lydia Martin
  • Buffy Summers - Barry Allen
  • Emma Swan - Parker
  • Cisco Ramon - Gracie Cannell
  • Natasha Romanoff - Jack Harkness
  • Primrose Everdeen - Alcide Herveaux

Room 1101 will be woken up at 1200 when a squadron of Internal Security Gray Ops come to arrest Bucky Barnes for treason. He will be led away at gun point and his roommates, Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish and Oliver Queen will be immediately taken into IntSec for questioning. They will be questioned about the activities of their former roommate for several hours before being sedated and returned to their room before 0500. Bucky's roommates will not remember his arrest or their questioning when they wake, though they may feel the lingering active effects of the sedative for several hours into their day.

The memory of Bucky Barnes having ever been present in Alpha will be erased with varying degrees of success from all those he came into contact with.

Early Morning [0800 - 0900]All Troubleshooters Report for Duty

No Specials will be selected for a mission today.

Morning & Afternoon [0900 - 1600]Service Firm Positions
All Troubleshooters not assigned a mission should report to their Service Firm for their daily duties.

At 0900 it will be discovered that the shooter from Steve Roger's assassination attempt has, ironically, been assassinated along with her guards in Armed Forces the night before. The letters mod will be left written in the shooter's blood along her cell wall.

Evening [1600 - 2200]Citizen Improvement
All Alpha citizens are encouraged to better themselves through Alpha’s wide variety of educational, entertainment and cultural opportunities offered each evening. Attending these sanctioned events are not mandatory, but is highly encouraged by The Computer. Citizens choosing not to take advantage of these opportunities, have a growing number of other options available to them in how to spend their hard earned credits and free time.

Tonight’s event will be at 1900 in the Commissary and will be overseen by Clint Barton. Izzy Lightwood from Medical Services has been assigned to assist him in giving a demonstration on basic first aid and wound care.

Alpha Curfew Restrictions
All Alpha citizens should be in their quarters within the Wagon Wheel by 2200, unless they’ve been given permission from a GREEN or higher clearance level citizen. Sleeping Aid gas is dispelled each night in the Wagon Wheel at 2200 to assist citizens in getting a productive sleeping period.

Confession Booths
There are hundreds of confession booths available around Alpha Complex if a citizen would like to communicate directly with the computer. Please use these confession booths to report mission statuses, report treason or terrorist acts, unregistered mutants, confess your trespasses against Alpha Complex, request propaganda or speak with Your Friend, The Computer, at any time.

There are two reasons that Alcide knows that something is out of the ordinary. First of all, he knows the name Prim. He knows it because that's the name of the girl that Zee went on a mission with the day before. He doesn't know Prim, of course, but he does know the name since Zee is his best friend here and he makes it a point to know everything that's going on with her. Second, and maybe more important than the first, is that there is no way in hell that his imagination, even his subconscious imagination, would dream something as fucked up as what he did the night before without any basis for the fucked up-ness of it.

It all felt so real, as if he was living through what Prim went through. It's not just a dream, it's a memory without all the fine print, the context, that should come with it. He felt what Prim felt. He thought what Prim thought. He hurt when Prim hurt, inside and out. It breaks his heart. And it really isn't fair that he has these memories that aren't his. As if he needs another reason to hate the almighty computer, this only adds to that.

He goes through his day at work on border patrol as normal. All day he thinks about Prim, Zee and what these dreams might mean. Did someone dream about him too? The thought makes his stomach roll with discomfort. It's just not right. It's another thing to add to the list of injustices in this place.

By the time everyone is off for the evening, Alcide is walking too. He's actually looking for Zee when he spots Prim, walking aimlessly and looking just like she had in the dreams/memories. He wants to hug her and tell her it'll be okay. She doesn't know him from boo though, so he's pretty sure that wouldn't be welcome. He settles for a simple approach. This man, taller than most and broad, build like brick wall, approaches her. "Hey. Uh... Prim, right?" He says, a few feet away from her. He feels like he knows her and yet he shouldn't know her. "I'm Alcide Herveaux..."

And now to make it less awkward, to give himself a reason to be speaking to her at all. "I know you went on a mission with Zee yesterday. Zee and me, we're friends. Just thought I'd... introduce myself."

By all standards, though she's thin, Prim isn't a short girl. So, when the large man approaches her, and she feels a bit like a dwarf it's...well, it's a bit of a funny feeling; she feels small, like she did when she was younger, but it's probably more than he's just tall....and wide. So, Prim looks up at the man that she can't help but recognize, and feel like she knows, and the guilt flashes across her face as her eyes go wide.

Alcide. The man whose memories that she had experienced the previous night. She recognizes the voice, the name, and she isn't actually sure what exactly to do. Or say. Or if he knows.

"That's me, yes." Prim manages to answer after a moment, gathering her manners because she has been taught better than that. She just...really feels like she may have been caught doing something wrong. Still, she is stopped and she holds her hand out in an offer to shake his hand (at a loss for what else to do...because what do you do when you know someone's memories...including their untimely death). "Hi, Alcide, it's nice to meet you." And that's not a lie. The memories of his that she has....they've had him on her mind throughout the day, so even though she feels bad meeting him isn't unwanted, by any means.

Recognition crosses the blonde girl's features, realizing that they have a mutual friend--though she hasn't known Zee long--and she manages a smile. "That's nice of you." Prim notes, her tone friendly because....that's sort of what the teen defaults at, basically. "We didn't have much time to talk about things outside of the mission, but I like her." Zee is definitely different than Prim, but that doesn't make a difference, she's so upfront and honest about what she thinks and everything that it's nice. "Even if we failed our mission." The blonde focuses on that for the moment, giving a shrug and trying to work out how to bring up somehow having his memories in a tactful way. She's not sure that there is, exactly.

"I've... I'm sorry if this is rude...and that I'm even asking, but....you wouldn't happen to know a blonde woman named Sookie, would you?" Prim asks, an apologetic look on her face. She's really not good at hiding things, and it's only fair that he knows, and is told...even if this might not be the best way, completely.

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2017-01-19 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's easy to see that he caught her off guard and in a way, he knew he'd be doing just that. It's hard to decipher all the emotions that cross those young features though. Two dead people looking at each other, knowing things about one another, and Alcide does have a moment of guilt too even though logically he knows he has nothing to feel guilty over. He also wishes he could make things here somehow better for her since she obviously went through some horrible, terrible things back where she's from. What are the Hunger Games? What does that even mean?

All he knows is that she deserves better, better than what she was forced to endure back home and most certainly better than this place.

It takes him a moment, but he takes her hand in his, his hand nearly making her entire hand disappear in his own as he shakes it and nods. "Good to meet you too." She seems so sweet and, not tiny really, but delicate maybe. At the same time there's a fierceness in her eyes, a fierce intelligence that he remembers from those final moments of her life. Anyone would be a fool to mistake her for weak, which she's surely not. She's too young for death though. And holy shit, can he hug her yet? Probably not.

He lets go of her hand and is pleased to hear that she likes Zee. He isn't sure how anyone couldn't like Zee for all the same reasons that Prim has seen in Alcide's best friend. "Yeah, she's the best person I know here. And truth be told, sometimes I think those missions are set up for failure. So don't you worry about it." A test by the Computer, that's what he thinks the missions are. And Alcide is never a proponent of pleasing the Computer, quite the contrary.

Of all the questions she could have thrown his way, he hadn't expected that one. How could he have. An array of emotion crosses his features; sadness, love, anger, hurt and more. He's suddenly looking around the hallway at large as he jumps to the logical conclusion. "Is she here?" Because he doesn't know what he'd do if she were here. She hurt him. He died chasing after her just like he always chased after her. He loved her. She didn't love him quite as much as he wished she did. He knows that now, given some distance from it. That doesn't make his heart hurt any less.

Prim is the sort that is inclined to like people, from the get go, unless there's really a reason not to. Katniss has always been the one that has trouble trusting because she's naturally inclined toward being suspicious of others. Even if Prim weren't naturally different with people, though, that memory....even Katniss probably wouldn't be able to help herself here and in this case. At least, that's what Prim finds herself thinking.

Alcide just seems...nice, and sweet, for such a large man; it's the same sort of thing that she got from him, as him, in the memories of his that she experienced. And not only that he's just as open and honest about what he thinks, and it's a nice...especially when there seem to be a lot of people around here who aren't exactly. "I'm trying not to, I'm just worried about getting me and Zee in trouble." Prim admits before reaching up to tuck her blonde hair behind her ears.

She really didn't mean to set the man on edge, though, and Prim instantly feels bad and holds her hands up, gesturing. "Oh, no! I'm sorry....I didn't mean to..." Prim stops herself and takes a bit of a calming breath. "Sookie isn't here, I'm sorry. I just....I had dreams last night...about her and about what I'm pretty sure was, well, you." Prim admits, bashfully. "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to make you think she was here, I just....it's just not fair to you to not tell you about it. That was obviously not a very good way to bring it up, though."

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2017-01-23 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Alcide is all too aware that he can be an intimidating thing at first glance. Sometimes he plays that up to get somewhere. And then sometimes, like now, he tries very hard to let his interior overshadow the exterior. Because when it boils down to it, while Alcide can be quick to emotion, any emotion, he's also soft on the inside. He cares too much about things, about people. He's one of the most decent guys and anyone who gets past any intimidation would see that.

Whether or not Prim had to work past anything like that or whether she's just trusting enough not to be worried about his being here talking to her, Alcide is thankful for that. He doesn't want to be the cause of any more badness in Prim's life.

"You and Zee get in trouble for it and I'm probably gonna end up flippin' a few tables and bustin' some doors in." He's only kind of joking about that. He'd be unhappy and would make sure the Computer knows about the injustice of any kind of reprimand against these two girls.

There's a strange mixture of relief and sadness that Sookie isn't here. Some distance has given him clarity as far as Sookie is concerned. His heart was still completely and utterly in love with her though. Which makes her ultimate betrayal hurt that much more. "No it's okay." He says with a shake of his head, quick to absolve her of whatever guilt she might have. "Shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. How do you know Sookie?"

Prim can't quite help the smile that pulls at her mouth at Alcide's joke. At least she hopes that it's a joke. She wouldn't want to be the reason that anybody gets in trouble; she's done too much of that already. And lord knows that Katniss would be enough of a hand full if anything happened, just on her own. "I wouldn't want you to do anything that might get you in trouble." She can't hold in the comment, but there's kindness to her words that stems from the sort of person that she just and a smile that lingers, getting the joke somewhat, but also coming from a real place of concern at the same time.

She doesn't truly know Alcide, but she sure feels like she does. She knows that he is the sort of person that is good when it all boils down to his core, so despite the fact that he can be gruff and emotional it comes from a good place; she felt that much in her...dream, his memory. She can see the relief that Sookie isn't here and it reinforces the knowledge of Alcide's death in the back of her mind...the betrayal that lead to him leaving the world before his time. It doesn't matter that he's older than her because it still wasn't his time.

"I don't, not really..." Prim says, clarifying herself as best she can. "My dream last night...and what I think were your memories." Prim offers up, reaching up to put her hand on his arm, unable to be hard or anything but kind when she...experienced something that wasn't her's, and that feels very much like a violation of his mind, in some ways. "I dreamed that I was you, I guess, is the best way I can explain it. You were talking to her and she was wearing...rabbit ears...at first, you were being sweet and open about what you wanted and then...it skipped ahead to... well, when you were shot and everything leading up to it." Prim looks down, feeling awful about saying it all outright like that It's not easy to hold it in, though. Her hand falls, just feeling bad.

"I don't know how, or even if it's real, honestly, but since you're here I felt like I had to tell you and be honest. Because if it is real...it's not fair that I, somehow, got your...memories the way that I did." Prim may be young, but she's not stupid. And she thinks. A lot, even if there are some out there, at least back home, that might not realize it.

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2017-01-29 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It is mostly a joke, but also not in some ways. Alcide can get very overprotective of people to the point that he cares more about their welfare than his own. And he has never been one to cower from the almighty computer even since the first day he arrived here. "Don't worry about me. I'm always in a little bit of trouble." A true statement if there ever was one, but also said with the kind of amusement that speaks toward the fact that he likes it that way when there's a dictator of a computer to rail against.

It's when she says the word 'dream' that things click for him. He'd dreamed about her. She must have dreamed about him. What did she see? As she explains the answers to that question, Alcide can see those memories vividly in his mind. She's not wrong about either of them - and that last one, what a horrible thing to see. Alcide remembers it all, especially how he felt. Feelings seem to linger so much longer than anything else, don't they?

"I dreamed about you too. I was... you, I guess. The reaping... which I didn't understand completely. But they took your sister after they called your name." Prim's utter fear and devastation is still such a palpable thing in his mind. No kid should have to feel those things so strongly. "And then you were helpin' people, a medic maybe. And you - there was an explosion." He looks at her, waiting to see if all of that is as true as what she said about him. Because if so, that solidifies the fact that someone has been messing around inside their heads. It solidifies the fact that someone here is capable of manipulation in that way and Alcide is not okay with that.

[personal profile] littleducktails 2017-01-30 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Like my sister." Prim comments without thinking too much on what she's saying. Katniss is usually on the cusp of getting in trouble, or in a little bit of it herself....whether it be because she's out in the woods hunting or part of the resistance. It seems like her sister has very much the same sort of philosophy as this man. And it does manage to make a small, fond smile pull at Prim's mouth. Prim might not be quite the rebel that her sister, or even Alcide, is but she has her own, subtle way of doing things. Of trying to make a difference, and help. She's not sure that her way is actually all that helpful, but she does try.

Prim doesn't take her eyes off of the much larger man, though, even as he admits that he dreamed about her too. Prim's not sure how she feels about that. There are...a lot of things from Prim's past that aren't pleasant; that's just the life that she was born into. She tried, though, to be positive.... there were definitely times when it was easier said than done. And, apparently, Alcide was given the worst memories from Prim's life. The blonde closes her eyes and turns her head, almost feeling as if she's back there....hearing her name and feeling like she's about to die only to have her sister save her....and then the realization of what Katniss going in her place actually meant.... Prim knows that it's a terrible memory for anyone to have. Forcing herself to look up at Alcide, Prim nods, and tries not to get emotional.

"The Reaping...it's the way they pick the tributes from the districts for the Hunger Games." Prim speaks quietly, wetting her lips and knowing that it was the time that she, basically, escaped death. "It's a fight to the death that people watch." It's a really simplistic explanation, but it's what Prim can manage for the moment. If he has questions, she'll answer them, he has a right know, now, though. He's already got a chunk of the story, plus, she has his memories. It's only right. At least he's telling her that he has these memories, but they are the lowest points....the most painful memories from her life.

"I'm a healer. That was the first time that I was sent out to help people and...my last. That was when I died." Prim says, honestly, knowing that this is true...that they have one another's memories and not having a single doubt about it now. "It's not the nicest thing to have in common." Prim adds, knowing that Alcide was killed too...even if in a different way.

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2017-01-31 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It's then that Alcide puts faces together in a way he hasn't thought of before. The girl from his dream, Prim's sister, is Katniss. Katniss is also the girl who's so often in his rooms with Derek, sleeping in Derek's bed. Derek is Alcide's roommate and friend. Yeah, he's more connected to Prim and Prim to him than either of them realized. "Your sister is Katniss, right?" He asks. The name from the dream. The name of the girl Derek is seeing. "And she's here. I think we've met."

Prim's explanation of The Hunger Games just validates the intense feeling that Alcide has to protect Prim. She's so young and she deserves better. Katniss had seemed young too, although not as young as Prim, and yet younger than the Katniss he knows here in the Complex. And reliving Prim's memory from that experience in his dreams, means he vicariously lived something Katniss has gone through as well. They both deserve better.

"I don't understand why there would be something like that... why... the government would allow it?" It's an idea he'd gleaned from her memory, but it's so abstract that he's almost unsure about it and makes it a question.

His look is sad and thoughtful as she continues. No, it's not the nicest thing to have in common. She's too young. There are worse people in his world than him, just a guy who'd always been trying to do the right thing, who should have died. He smirks and looks down. "Maybe we should form a club anyway." He half jokes. Because what can they do about it? Nothing. They can make this place better and that's about it.
littleducktails: (tuck hair)

[personal profile] littleducktails 2017-01-31 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The nod is automatic; Prim has gotten used to people knowing her, or titling her, Katniss' sister. It doesn't other her, honestly, considering everything that her sister's done for her throughout her entire life. The steadiest force in her life, the person that she's always had, has been her sister. So she's quick to claim the other girl. "Yeah, that's her name." Prim offers a small smile. "She's been here longer than I have....she works in Physical Assessment." Prim offers, though, she's pretty sure if he thinks he's met her he's right.

It's not like Katniss is particularly forgettable, or at least Prim doesn't think she is considering how her sister is.

It's almost strange, to speak to someone about the games when they aren't from her home. Prim pauses a moment, to think of the best way to explain, considering the games have always just been a part of life for her. "The Capitol is more powerful than the other Districts and when they rebelled against them....they didn't win, so the Hunger Games was the way of punishing the other districts for what they did. There are twelve districts and one boy and one girl are chosen annually for the games." Prim reaches up to tuck some hair behind her ears, sadly. "The Capitol, at that time, was stronger and there was no way to go against them. They were the government, the ones in control."

Shes sure that she's explained it poorly and she can't help the sadness that she feels, but the smirk that Alcide manages so easily does bring one tugging at the corners of Prim's lips. "Maybe...I've never been in any sort of club." Prim admits. "I suppose it could be as good as any?" She jokes back, finding herself curious about Alcide's life, in some ways, because he seems so kind, to her. "Alcide, would it be...overstepping to ask about the man with the fangs and how you turned from a wolf to man?" Prim asks quietly, a tentativeness to her tone, not wanting to upset her potential new friend with a question that might overstep boundaries.

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2017-02-02 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It's true, she's got such a hardened, sad and haunted look that Katniss is hard to forget. He'd seen her several times before he finally approached her at the charity ball and danced with her. He figured he should know the girl who's been frequenting his room with Derek at night. He remembers Katniss mentioning her sister then. And now he can easily put two and two together. It probably shouldn't have taken him so long.

And now, seeing Prim up close and knowing what he knows, Prim is equally unforgettable. She's not just Katniss's sister. Alcide doesn't know Katniss well enough for that and he feels like he's been in Prim's headspace in a way. He feels more of a connection with Prim than Katniss, which makes Katniss Prim's sister in his mind.

"They called you Primrose, like the flower. It's a pretty name." He offers softly. It's just a part of his memories and he's trying to make sure that this entire conversation isn't horrible. He doesn't want Prim to associate him with something horrible. She's had enough of that in her life, he thinks.

What Prim says though, it fills in some explanation of what he'd dreamed where it's needed. "A dictatorship. They like to control people by fear, historically speaking." He may not get it completely, but he wants Prim to know he gets the gist of what she's saying. "And what I saw, the reaping. Your name got called to fight in these... I don't much care for callin' 'em games." It sounds so wrong, because that's not what she's describing. It's forced execution. It's psychological torture, in a way, on a massive scale.

She asks him about the man with fangs and Alcide works not to make a disgruntled face. Fangers and shifters don't really get along as a rule. But Alcide logically knows that there's good and bad in every group. You can't classify the whole from a few. "It ain't overstepping. You saw what you saw. Vampires, they're the ones with the fangs. They're real in my world. So are shifters and fae. I'm a wolf... usually. This place has taken it from me. But I'm gonna get it back." It's a lot to explain and he isn't sure what she knows about any of these things, in a fantasy sense or real. "I can shift from what I am now to a wolf form. My mind's all there the whole time so it ain't like a monster movie or anything. It's just... what I am." And he really hopes that that doesn't scare her.
littleducktails: (wise beyond years)

[personal profile] littleducktails 2017-02-03 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Prim smiles and nods at Alcide's recollection; he's right, that is what she was named after. "Thank you! My sister and I are both named after flowers." She had nothing to do with her own name, but it's still a really nice compliment. Alcide, just like in the memory that she had, is sweet to try and bring something other than death and their terrible memories into the conversation. For someone who seems so giant, physically, he's a pretty gentle man.

In some ways he reminds her of Peeta, though obviously not completely so, considering Peeta never towered over her the way that Alcide does, but the guy was strong physically. Everyone got the chance to see that beneath the caring, gentle demeanor he was very strong. Prim always liked Peeta, though, and she likes Alcide thus far.

Blond locks bounce with Prim's nod. "Fear and violence. They also keep the worst districts from the rebellion poor." Prim states mat wagter-of-factly. Alcide, luckily, didn't see the state of Prim's home district outside of the reaping and the lack of food and other things that she and Katniss grew up in. She can wager a guess that it would upset him. Prim understands, though, that the Hunger Games are anything but a game. "The Capitol watch it like it's...a sport, though. It's entertainment to them." Prim looks down and shakes her head, still in some ways, unable to believe that she was drawn the very first time. "That was the first time that I was even...eligible to have my name drawn. I don't have particularly good luck." Prim explains, a sad smile pulling at her mouth.

She's had this thought multiple times, and what happened....well, there's no way to change it now. So, getting upset over it will do her absolutely no good. She's alive now, and even if this place isn't perfect she's here, at least.

"Vampires..." Prim wrinkles her nose, not quite familiar with the term. "His teeth looked like something someone from the Capitol might do. To be unique and...attractive." There's a hint of a frown in her voice as she says that because Prim isn't exactly the sort of person that finds that...pretty. She's simpler, though, than individuals from the Capitol. Hearing that Alcide is a wolf, though, Prim looks up at her newfound friend. "So you're like Zee, just...different. Not the same sort of...thing." Prim finishes lamely, remembering she probably shouldn't say things like that out loud, and a bit of guilt crosses her face for actually bringing it up; the fact that he's real is obvious to Prim and, honestly, she isn't afraid of him and doesn't find him monstrous in any way. "I've never seen it before, and I'm sorry, actually, for bringing it up."

Prim looks up, wondering where the cameras are and hoping that this isn't...important enough for anyone to worry about. She's already potentially gotten herself and Zee in trouble, at least partly.

[personal profile] rouxgaroux 2017-02-05 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's sweet." An appropriate, he thinks. Prim makes him think of a flower, both delicate and apt at survival. "Back home, we've got some wild primrose that grows along the side of the roads before you get into the swampy areas. Ain't sure I've ever seen a Katniss flower. What's it look like?"

If he knew he was reminding her in any way of someone like Peeta, he'd definitely take that as a compliment. The bottom line is that he likes Prim too. She's so sweet and if he could make this world a better place for her, he would do it.

Prim seems all too aware of the harsher sides of life and Alcide doesn't like it. There's nothing he can do about what Prim has been through. But when she dips her head, he reaches out to place a firm hand on her shoulder, shakes his own head. "So we both have sour luck. Maybe we can turn that around here." He's working on it, in any case, him and Zee. "What happened is not okay. But maybe we can make what's comin' at us okay."

He has to ask about the second vision though. "Why... I don't understand what happened in the end." It's the best way he can ask about her death without coming right out and talking about it. It's striking, really, to know that he isn't the only dead person walking here.

Maybe he'd been holding his breath in seeing how Prim would react to his admission of being a wolf. It could go either way but he knows which way he wishes it would go. So when she says he's like Zee, he releases that held breath in a smirk and a nod. "Yeah. Kind of. I can't do magic, but I can shift into a wolf. I can hear, smell and see things differently than humans. I'm stronger... usually." It's been too long since he's been able to shift or to use any of these enhanced senses.

Alcide is quick to relieve her of this guilt. "No, sweetheart, it's okay. You saw what you saw and I saw some of your life. It was almost like I lived it. You deserve an explanation. And I'd rather you ask than worry or be afraid of me." He grins again. "I've never been one to avoid any elephants in the room."

Alcide is just likable, and as he describes the wild primrose that he's seen, Prim can't help but smile at the image....in part because she's seen bits and pieces of his home, and the way that the plantlife looks. Even if she's not as versed in wildlife, and plants, as her sister. She heard her mom talk about Katniss plants before, though. "My mom used to tease Katniss that as long as she could find herself she'd never starve." Prim smiles, lightly, at the memory. "It grows near water and the leaves are like triangles--or arrowheads--and the flower part has three white petals." That's what Prim remembers of it, though after a moment she tacks on. "You eat part of the root, like a potato."

Her mom really did hit that point home, that Katniss plants were edible. And primrose, well, can be used in teas and oils, but not for sustenance....even if here and in District 13 that knowledge wasn't really necessary even if back home it was necessary information.

"I like that way of thinking." Prim smiles, even as her blonde hair shakes with a nod. "We can always try to be better and positive here." Katniss is the pessimist and Prim...ever the optimist. So, she can appreciate that from her newfound friend. Even if he still has questions about the negative parts.

"I'm a healer....back there and here." Prim offers, thinking back to everything that happened when she died. "The things that fell from the sky....in the hunger games they use those to deliver gifts...food, weapons, medicine. So, when the kids that were in the barricade saw them that's what hey thought they were." Prim frowns at the memory, looking up at Alcide. "I was blown up by them along with everyone else." She says, as gently as she can actually manage, trying not to focus on the harsh reality.

"I've never seen anything magical until I met Zee." Prim admits. The fact that he turns into a wolf doesn't make him scary, not to Prim, if only because as a person he is just...too nice to see him being truly bad. "People aren't like the two of you in Panem." She sort of wishes that people had been, then people like her sister and Finnick might not have wound up losing all that they had. It wouldn't have all been on their weaker shoulders. The new information is just...something that would have changed everything at home. It's too bad people like him and Zee weren't in Panem.

And it's a relief that he doesn't mind talking about it because Prim can't help her curiosity. "I'm not afraid of you." The blond reassures with a smile. "You're like...a gentle giant." Prim says without thinking. "Unless you need to not be." The teen adds, thinking of Peeta, who had so much strength but could be so delicate; yeah, the two remind her of one another and it's easy to like Alcide because of that. He didn't have to try and talk to her, after all. "But getting your memories and meeting you...it's easy to see that you're a good person and to trust you." Prim can't help her honesty, even if she hasn't forgotten Cisco's warning. This is just so different, though. She knows these things for a fact, not just because she's naive and trusting.
