For a moment, he lets Jack walk away, because he'll probably have to work for five hundred credits and pretending to give a crap is not worth one meal. He goes back to his plate of food, but he doesn't get very far before changing his mind. Sort of.
"Jack!" he calls out, getting up and jogging toward the other man. "You start my bid at a hundred credits instead of twenty five and you've got a deal."
He could get greedy and push for a higher starter but he's not even sure he's going to get this ask, let alone a more unreasonable one.
