When Jack had approached her Natasha had said yes, not because she wanted to but because the majority of her friends managed to suck it up and get on stage, and because she's already in the Computer's good graces and she doesn't want to do anything to damage that. She didn't, however, expect it to happen so soon, and Natasha hates being unprepared for anything, let alone having the attention of the entire room turned on her. Her eyes close when she hears Jack say her name and she turns to give him a look from where he stands on the stage, but after he continues with his upbeat attitude and pushes for people to encourage her, she can't help herself. She smiles.
He's one hell of a character, she'll give him that.
Once the volume of the room rises again Natasha puts her hands up in surrender and starts to make her way to the stage, climbing up the stairs gracefully, and she moves to stand beside Jack with her hands folded before her. "How am I supposed to say no to a reception like that?" She responds in a polite voice that's just barely tinted with a sarcastic tease as she looks at him, and her eyes move out to the crowd so she can give a coy smile and a little wave that consists of a raised hand and wiggling fingers. Is she shy? No, of course not, but overt confidence doesn't sell as well. People are already intimidated by her reputation, she has to sell a more docile and attractive side.
"What perfect timing, I was just wondering of someone here could give me a proper dance tonight."
