Matt had tried to make sure that Lydia knew having the implants taken out had nothing to do with her, but he'd been afraid that she wouldn't react well. In reality, she'd been nothing but supportive of his decision and it had only made him love her more. It's good that both of them had the day and the time to process, to get used to the idea. He'd voluntarily had the implants removed, chosen blindness instead of implants that he hadn't had a say in getting, but there are things he will miss about being able to see. Lydia is the biggest one. He won't judge her for feeling that loss, because it is her loss as well. That's why he wanted to speak to her before he had it done.
He tilts his face ever so slightly into that touch before she reaches up to take the glasses off. His hand slips to her waist, fingertips grazing the texture of her dress while his other hand goes to the curve of her neck so that he can run his fingers up her neck to her jaw. "Hello, Gorgeous," he tells her in a half whisper. "Very busy, but good. I've finally got a trial that I think I can do something about. Don't worry about it. You had a busy day too." He knows a little of what she had planned for today. "Did it all go well?"
