They both have every reason to be gunshy about whatever this is between them. Buffy acts on those fears and Alcide barrels right through them. He can be somewhat of a reactionary though. Like seeing Buffy dressed up right now like she is, yeah, he's reacting to that. Of course, he thinks she makes those jumpsuits look good so there's that too. Basically, she's beautiful. And that's the bottom line. He's learning that she's beautiful on the inside too and that just makes her even more beautiful on the outside.

"Okay, I guess that makes sense, in a messed up kind of way." Because he's just about had it with this place and the drugs - even though he knows it's not changing or stopping anytime soon.

They continue to sway back and forth to the music and Alcide is kind of hoping this song lasts forever. It won't, of course. But a guy can hope. And after some deliberation, he finally nods too. Because drugged drinks be damned, he wants to go out with Buffy. "Yeah, I think goin' dancin' with you would be a good time. You know, whenever."
