“I should have already, days ago,” he says, his own smile a cross between fondness and hesitation, like he’s expecting her to want to talk about what just happened at any moment.
Normal people want to talk about it right? Being kissed and kissing your friends. That deserves a conversation and Steve shouldn’t just keep going like nothing out of the ordinary just happened. But then, Izzy seems to be doing just that, and well, Steve doesn’t even know what kind of talk he wants to have about it … so he just … keeps on keeping on.
“What um-“ Steve blinks again, and re-focuses. “Are you free tonight?” Because no, it definitely doesn’t sound like he’s asking her on a date right now. But somehow, Steve actually realizes how it sounds this time, and quickly adds, “So I can show you where it is. A lot of the Specials use it as a place to go off the grid for an hour or two. No cameras.”
Yes Steve. Tell Izzy about how private it is. That’s clearly much better.
