Maybe it's because this place is just short of a nightmare, or because he's older. He's had an unhealthy relationship. He knows what he doesn't want in a relationship. Maybe it's just that together, they're good for each other. Really, his relationship with Electra is the only one he has really had. He'd only started dating Karen when things had gone so horribly. Electra had tried to shape him into someone she wanted him to be, and maybe he'd been trying to do the same thing to her. He and Electra had been too different. He and Lydia fit together better.

He certainly hopes so. He wants to make her feel all of those things. She certainly makes him feel special, smart, cared for and yes, sometimes old, but that's easy to overlook when she gives him so much more. Lydia is an anchor for him in this place, a spot for him to land when days get dark.

He doesn't try to pick her up, simply runs his wet hand along her thigh, all the way to her knee, groaning as he rubs against her. She's definitely having an effect on him. He grins at her words. "You may have a point. I foresee a lot of showering in our future."

They do. He opens his eyes to watch her grab the shampoo then nods and bows his head, swaying toward her as she runs her fingers up and down his spine. "Let me wash your hair first. " He has a bit of fascination with her hair.
