stillplaying: ([serious] cautious)

Backing off would be good. It would give her a chance to figure out her thoughts for herself and convince herself that the glitches aren't real. Or try. Try as hard as she possibly can because they're killing her right now. The memories keep threatening to drown her as much as memories possibly can. She doesn't want to listen to him talk because it takes time away from trying to figure things out for herself. She doesn't want him to even notice her because any sympathy just hurts even more.

But Tony's words do permeate the haze in her mind. Welcoming committee. Better lay of the land. Tour. Words that all seem to imply that she's never been here before. That she was recreated. That... that those glitches might be real? Katniss hadn't understood a lot of what had been said to her. Her grasp of biology is, overall, basic. She does know what she wants to think though. She wants to think that, however she was made or remade, this is the only life she's ever had. She doesn't want those glitched memories. She wants them gone. Utterly gone.

Katniss continues to regard him suspiciously. This time though, rather than staying silent, she does speak. "Does that mean I'm not from here?"
