Yes, the coffee is pretty damn terrible. Allison is still trying to decide if she's doing herself more harm than good drinking it, but her body is craving caffeine so she's settling for it.
The assurance really does help and, even if the change in her expression is minimal, they still relax a little bit nonetheless. It's almost as if they have something in common, other than being here - they both think the place is wonky altogether.
