Steve doesn’t know what Morgana doesn’t ask, but he would have laughed, just a little, if she’d said it out loud. He doesn’t know what it feels like to have a lady’s father adore him. Steve imagines that it’d be nice.

As she talks, and changes subject, Steve realizes though, why he’s come to like Morgana so much, even if he hadn’t quite been able to put his finger on why. Even in the 40s, women struggled to be seen as equals. He had seen Peggy struggling with it in front the Colonel. He can’t even imagine how difficult it would have been in Morgana’s time to be a woman, much less one who liked to spar and speak her mind. So you could say that Steve admired her for having a strength beyond her time. Just like Peggy.

“Sounds like the two of you had a lot of adventures. Did you ever get into trouble?”

He leans back onto the couch too, so that they’re parallel now, but he doesn’t move his hands. Steve knows it’s the best comfort he can give right now — that, and following her lead and talking about something else.
