Oh man, this just keeps getting worse. Ronan would have a field day with this. So would Blue. Although he isn't sure Blue would rib him about it as much as Ronan would. Adam has a tendency to stumble over everything with girls he thinks are pretty, Blue included. And therein lie old wounds that, while healed, sometimes still rise to the surface.
Ronan would just laugh at him, at the way Adam's skin flushes even more and he forgets to breathe when Felicity continues on with drill, hammering and screwing. It's like a roller coaster that's quickly sped upward to its peak. There's no power in the universe that could stop it from going down again. Once Adam's mind had started going to that place, nothing could stop him from ending up in the gutter and staying there for a bit. Now everything sounds like it has innuendo and double entendre to it.
Adam stares at Felicity, slack jawed, reminding himself to breathe. Somehow it's the echo of the word bookshelves that snaps him out of it. Bookshelves. Bookshelves. Think about bookshelves. "Yeah, bookshelves. Reading is good."
Horrible, horrible save, Adam. Not so great job.
In fact, he did such a good job that she's almost literally running away from him. Really, if anyone is watching, computer included, they all much be laughing at him. Adam's life is usually something akin to a sci-fi fantasy drama. Right now, left alone in the hallway after meeting Felicity Smoak, he's playing at a dramady, heavy on the comedy.
right? such cute. much adorbs.
