He nods in confirmation that he'd meant for her to tell him about her
experiment. He listens, head tilted slightly, nodding ever so often. he did
okay in science so he understands what she's talking about. "That's smart,"
he says after she's explained. Of course, he'd known Lydia was smart. "Are
you able to find the components easily enough or are you having to go on
the black market?" Again, he's curious and a little concerned for her
welfare if she's going on the black market.
Matt likes it for the same reasons. It's part of getting to know each other
in a place that is entirely foreign to the both of them. If they lived in
their world then she'd probably have him over and cook her favorite dish.
It's not that easy here so they have to tell each other these things. "That
sounds delicious." He chuckles at her question. "Unless you mean toast, or
boiling water for tea, no. I relied entirely on take out and my clients to
feed me. My dad used to make a mean macaroni and cheese, but I never
learned how to cook it. I was too young when he died to really make it. I
only remember helping him a little in the kitchen." In some ways, it makes
these moments all the more special, though he does wish that they had
more of these moments.
He smiles, ducking his head slightly and nodding. "I know, but this was I
don't have to wait on you," he teases her a little then sobers at her
words. She's got a point. It is difficult to tell one day from another
here. He shrugs a bit when she turns the question on him. "Okay. I'm still
working on getting everything in my office recorded to voice." He's got an
assistant of sorts for that.
