"Such a gentleman," Lydia replied with a soft laugh, surveying the board and then Barry himself before moving one of her own pawns. Barry, from what little she'd gathered on their mission, was a protector. Defensive and careful. He wasn't the type to make a proactive offense, from what she could tell, and she imagined if that was just his personality rather than the awful situation they'd wound up in the last time they'd talked, then it would translate to the chess board. That was fine, she could take it slow and follow his lead so as not to open her queen up for a premature attack while trying to storm his side of the board.
Shrugging, Lydia shook her head. "Not really... Maybe if I'm allowed," she started sarcastically, "I wouldn't hate getting something a little less gross blah and a little more flattering to wear, but I hadn't really thought about it. Honestly, I saw a line and I was bored, so I pushed my way to the front to see if the fuss was about something that might occupy me. At least this'll keep my mind sharp, too," she said, wetting her lips as she looked back at him. Oh yes, she was attempting to distract him a little and, if she could, throw him off his game.
