The idea that Bucky knows her throws Steve for a loop, and his eyebrows furrow as he looks over at Bucky, confused. Natasha wouldn't have been born yet, at least based on what Steve knows, back in the 30s. Or 40s. "Sometime from when you were under then," he says. The euphemism just sort of comes out. Under the influence. Under water. Under ... everything that's been forced upon them.

"Natasha said to me once that the two of you met. She was protecting an engineer, and that engineer was your mission." It feels like a stretch. "Maybe you studied her."

It feels so natural though, when Bucky steps to his left, and after awhile, Steve can't help but throw a hand on his shoulder and smile. He had no idea how much he'd wished Bucky was here with him until now. Especially when he hears him say Wakanda. At that last little bit, part-confession part-briefing, Steve just shakes his head as he gives Bucky an amused look.

"I have a few days more of memories, but that's it." He gives Bucky's shoulder a little squeeze. "Can't believe you were willing to leave me on my own again though. I was pretty sure you'd regret it after you woke up and found out all the trouble I'd caused." Steve exhales. "But before I could get into any more, I woke up in Alpha."
