feel free to gloss over dinner

It really did take them losing the luxury of time, to realize there is no time to waste. Thinking back, it'll always bother Steve that he hadn't taken advantage of his time with Peggy as much as he could have. The young men who grew up in Steve's time were all prepared to die in the war. They lived and breathed for their country, but they also loved like they might die tomorrow. Except Steve. He waited for the perfect time with the perfect woman, and when he'd found her, he nose-dived a bomber into the ocean.

After his assassination, Steve knew he couldn't do to Tony what he'd done to Peggy all those decades ago. The next time something dangerous happens, Steve doesn't want to spend his last moments alive wishing that he and Tony had spent more time together. That he'd been clearer about his feelings.

"Turns out, being GREEN comes with a few benefits."

The feeling of Tony at his shoulder makes Steve grin softly as he picks up the two bowls, one in each hand. When he turns back to Tony, he leans down for another kiss — it's safer this time, because he knows he can't stay this way if he's holding dinner simultaneously.

"C'mon. Let's eat."
