He grins, just a little, in appreciation of her confidence. She’s right that he is struggling with the idea of teaching this at all, but the reason he asks her that question is a little different.

“It’s not that I think you’ll start using it to hurt people. I know you wouldn’t. But it takes a toll sometimes, on the mind, to be willing to attack someone like this.”

But soon enough, he’s guiding her hand up to his neck, gently, so it’s not too surprising when he uses both his hands to position her fingertips to rest gently on top of his throat.
