pretendtoneedme: (bursting through the door)

Oh, he had found a malfunctioning gun - several, in fact. But that's what his job does, is find the glitches and flaws in the weapons, and test them to make sure they won't fail in the field.

It's a job that gives him some... other advantages.

Clint keeps moving, not hurrying or otherwise acting at all suspicious, being very used to keeping his feelings and intentions masked and not giving anything away. Steve knows enough of the spy game to not make a big deal about it, which Clint is grateful for, because after awhile they're definitely not in an observed area. It's too run down, too dilapidated, to be anything active, and at that point Clint turns back to Steve and gives him a focused look of "follow me" without saying a word. No one's around, or even in the area, and their casual walk off the grid shouldn't trigger any alarms - they'll be done soon. Clint turns and slips into a corridor that's almost too small for a supersoldier (sorry Steve), silencing his steps even in the heavy boots so as not to draw attention to anyone being where they shouldn't be. There's a couple more minutes of twists and turns in what is probably a set of disused service corridors, but they eventually come to a small closet where Clint kneels to draw a small roll of fabric from the rolled-up cuff of his jumpsuit. He opens it in his hand to reveal a few wires bent into odd shapes - improvised lockpicks.

"Gotta move this stuff, there's too much of it here now." Selecting two of the picks, he inserts them into the lock and has it open within a few moments, standing and opening the door to reveal a stack of small battered boxes. "Think you can take a few? If they find it, they're gonna start looking for a smuggling operation, not just think it's a lone dissenter."
